Chapter 341: Eternal Secret

Then, as he walked down a narrow walkway, over a pile of rubble, Robert heard a small sound.

He paused and listened, holding his breath. That's right, there's another one just around the corner. He tried to see through the dust and fog in front of him, sword in hand.

The last group of dragonmen he met were drunk and eager to kill.

A lone human officer seemed like a good target, until one of them remembered that he had seen him and stayed with the Dark Maiden, and there would be no next chance of such luck.

The hallway in front of me was in ruins, and part of the ceiling had been dropped.

There was darkness all around, and the torch in his hand was the light source for pushing one.

Robert is forced to choose between "illuminating" and "being discovered". In the end, he decided to take a risk and let the torches continue to burn.

If he had groped in the dark, it would have been impossible to find Lorana.

He had to believe in his dress.

"Who's over there?" he shouted hoarsely, shining his torch at the pile of rubble in front of him.

He saw a reflection of his armor, and he saw a figure running, but she was running away from him, not towards him.

It's strange for a dragonman...... His head doesn't seem to be working.

He could clearly see the figure now, slender, thin, and running too fast......

"Lorana!" he shouted, then in Elven language. "Love!"

Robert cursed at the pillars and marble tiles that stood in his way, and he kept falling and getting up, forcing his tired body to hold on until he found Lorana.

He grabbed her hand and forced her to stop, all he had left was enough strength for him to grab her hand and lean against the wall to gasp for air.

Every breath brought with it a sharp pain. His head was so groggy that he almost fainted.

But he clung to her, and he would not let go, and he would not take his eyes away.

He now knew why the dragons hadn't seen her. She had taken off her silver armor and put on the drake armor she had snatched from the corpse.

For a while, she just glared at Robert. She didn't recognize him at first, and almost stabbed him to death with a sword.

What stopped her from doing it was the elven phrase - lover.

That sentence and the grievance and pain that showed on his pale face.

"Lorana!" Robert's voice was as hoarse as that of Rodres, "don't leave me. Wait a minute...... Listen to me. Please!"

With a wave of her hand, Lolana broke free from Robert's restraints. But she didn't leave him.

She was about to speak, but another wave of earthquakes stopped her.

As dust and debris fell on their heads, Robertra approached Lorana and protected her with her body, and the two embraced each other in fear in the dark, and then, the shaking ended.

The torch in Robert's hand went out, and they were left in darkness.

"We have to get out of here. His voice trembled.

"Are you hurt?" said Lorana coldly, trying to break free of his hug again.

"If yes, I can help you. If not, I suggest we cut out the red tape of saying goodbye. Anyway—"

"Lorana—" Robert said softly, gasping for breath, "I don't expect you to be considerate...... Because even I don't understand it myself.

I don't expect your understanding...... I can't forgive myself myself.

I just want to tell you that I love you and I always love you.

But now I can't even stand myself, how can someone who can't love himself love others?!

"Shhh ”

For a long time, they embraced each other, stood in the dark and listened.

At first, all they heard was each other's breathing. They couldn't see anything, and even though they were so close, they couldn't see each other's faces clearly. Then the torches lit, and they were dazzled, and a voice spoke.

"Tell Lolana what, Robert?" Ella's melodious voice rang out.

"Go on. ”

An unsheathed sword was in her hand. Red and green stains of undried blood, glittering on the blade.

Her face was covered in gray stone chips, and a cut on her lip healed her jaw and began to drip blood.

There was tiredness in her eyes, but her smile was still there. She unsheathed her bloodstained sword, wiped her hand against her tattered cloak, and absentmindedly ruffled her hair.

Robert closed his eyes tiredly. His face seemed to slowly begin to age, and at this moment, he looked very human.

Pain, exhaustion, guilt, and sorrow never left a trace on the elven's youthful face.

He could feel Lorana's muscles begin to stiffen as her hand moved to the weapon.

"Let her go, Ella. Robert said quietly, clutching Lolana tightly.

"Keep your word, and I will be at your disposal. Let me take her out of the gates, and I'll come back again—"

"I really believe you will," Ella looked at him with admiration.

"Half-elf, didn't you ever think that I could kiss you and pull out the moment to kill you, without even breathing?

Oh, I don't think so.

In fact, I can kill you right now, because I know it will be the hardest blow to the elven woman. She held a blazing torch and shone it on Lorana.

"Look—her expression!" said Ella dismissively.

"What a weak and ridiculous love!"

Ella's hand rested on her hair again. She shrugged and looked around. "But I don't have time.

Everything is in the flow. The important thing is that after the darkness has failed. Someone else had to take her place.

What do you think, Robert, I've begun to establish authority in the minds of the other Dragoons. Ella patted the sword at her waist.

"My kingdom will be a great empire. Together, we can—"

She paused abruptly, her eyes turning to the direction she had just come.

Although Robert couldn't see or hear what caught her attention, he felt a biting chill begin to spread through the hallway.

Lolana grabbed him suddenly, fear overshadowing her sanity, and even though those orange eyes hadn't yet appeared, Robert already knew what would be.

"Sir South. Ella muttered. "Hurry up and make a decision, Robert. ”

"I've already decided, Ella. Robert said calmly. He took a step forward, blocking Lorana as much as he could.

"Sir South's going to have to kill me before he could touch her. Although I know very well that my death cannot stop him and you from taking her life,

But I will still pray to Paladin with my last breath to protect her soul and that the gods owe me a favor.

I knew that my last wish would come true. ”

Robert could feel Lolana resting her head on his shoulder and began to cry quietly, his heart calming down, for there was only love and sympathy for him in the cry.

Ella hesitated. They could already clearly see Sir South's eyes drifting in this direction, his orange eyes as distinct as torches.

She then grabbed Robert with her bloodied hands. "Run!" she said hoarsely.

"Hurry up and run, down the hallway. At the end is a door. You can feel it, too. It leads to the dungeon underneath. From there you can escape. ”

Robert looked at her puzzled.

"Run!" Ella shouted and shoved him.

Robert glanced at Sir South.

"It's a trap!" Lolana whispered.

"No!" Robert looked back at Ella. "Not this time. Goodbye, Ella. ”

Ella's nails sink into his flesh.

"Goodbye, half-elf. ”

She said in an emotional voice. "Remember, I did this because I loved you. Let's go!"

Ella threw the torch in her hand, and her figure disappeared completely, as if consumed by darkness.

Robert blinked, unable to see anything in the darkness, and he blindly reached out and tried to grab Ella. But he retracted, turned around, and he found Lolana's hand.

Together, the two stepped over the rubble and groped their way out along the wall.

The cold, murderous aura that poured out of the Necro Knight's body froze their blood as well.

Robert looked back and could see Sir South's eyes getting closer and closer, his eyes unrelenting.

Robert groped frantically for the stone wall, his hands searching the door incessantly. Then he felt the stones turn to wood.

He fumbled for the iron handle and turned it. The door opened as soon as it was pushed.

Pulling Lolana, the two of them broke into the door, and the bright torches on the stairs made them unable to see anything for a moment.

Robert heard Ella shouting behind them to stop Sir South. I don't know what Sir Southey will do to her after losing his prey.

That dream came to his mind vividly. He saw Ella fall again...... Lorana falls......

He stood helpless, unable to save anyone. The image was gone.

Lolana waited for him on the stairs, torches shining in her blonde hair. He hurriedly closed the door and ran to her as fast as he could.

"It's the elven woman. Sir South's orange eyes easily tracked the two men who fled before his eyes like rats.

"And that half-elf. ”

"I know. Ella said lazily. She drew her sword and began to wipe it with the bottom of her cloak.

"Do you want me to go up after them?" asked Soth.

"No need. We now have more important things to deal with. Ella replied.

She looked up with a sly smile. "Anyway, even if the elven woman dies, she won't become yours, and there is a god protecting her. ”

Sir South's gaze turned to Ella, whose pale lips showed mocking curves. "The half-elf is still your master. ”

It's a battle between the living dead and Ella, and Robert is the bargaining chip they each have.

Sir Southe is an insatiable fellow, how can he easily succumb to interests.
