Chapter 207: The Mage's Fury
"The white-robed mage entered the Wizard's Tower first. As Nurin Tarui hung bloodied in the night sky, the red-robed mage walked into the tower.
Finally, the black disk, Nutari, a black hole in the stars, rose and was visible only to those who knew it existed, and the black-robed mage walked into the hall. β
"This is an unusual moment in history, where the differences and opinions of various robed mages are set aside.
There have only been two times in history when this happened, and the second time was when all the mages banded together against a world that had turned their backs: the Lost War, but no one could have seen it yet.
At that time, there was only one thing that mattered, and that great evil force must be destroyed. Because the power intends to destroy all magic so that its own magic is the only power!
Some black-robed mages have tried to work with this force. βRobert saw a burning glint in Rodrith's eyes. But he soon realized that he was being controlled by this force.
So, when three full moons appeared in the sky, Dragon Ball was born. β
"Three moons?" Robert asked softly, but Rodrith continued to speak as if he didn't hear, as if he didn't belong to him.
"That night the mages cast a large and powerful spell, which was so powerful that only a few of them could withstand it. In the end, even they collapsed from exhaustion, and the power of magic and the power of the spirit were drained.
The next morning, there were five dragon balls mixed with light and shadow on the pedestal. Except for one who was left behind, the others were urgently taken to the other ** division's towers. Right in each tower, the Dragon Balls assist in destroying the evil forces that follow the darkness. β
The frenzied glint in Rodris's eyes began to fade. His shoulders drooped, his voice was weak, and he began to cough violently. The others looked at him with bated breath.
Robert finally cleared his throat. "What did you mean by the three moons?"
Rodrith looked up sluggishly. "Three moons?" he said hoarsely. "I don't know what the moon is bright. What were we talking about?"
"Dragon Ball, you tell us about the process of creating them. How could youβ" Robert saw Rodrith lie back on the mat and shut his mouth.
"I didn't tell you anything!" said Rodrith angrily. "What are you talking about?"
Robert looked at the others. River Wind shook his head, and Calamon bit his lip, his face full of worry.
"We were just talking about the story of Dragon Ball. "You're about to tell us what you know." β
Rodrith wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. "I don't know much. He shrugged wearily.
"Dragon Balls are made by magicians. Only the most powerful mages of my generation will be able to use it.
If someone who is short of mana tries to use it, it will awaken a great evil force. Other than that, I don't know.
All the information related to Dragon Ball was annihilated in the war in which mages were spurned by the people.
It is said that the two dragon balls were destroyed when the Tower of the Magi was captured so that they would not fall into the hands of the mob. The story of the other three dragon balls disappeared along with the mages. β
His voice grew quieter and quieter. At last he lay back on his mat and fell into a deep sleep of exhaustion.
"That lost battle, the moon light, Rodrith speaking in a voice that doesn't belong to him, none of that makes sense. Robert muttered.
"I don't believe it at all!" said River Breeze coldly. He shook his cloak and prepared for bed.
Robert had planned to rest as well, but he saw Albert tiptoe out of the shadows and stand beside Rodrith. She looked at the sleeping mage, her hands twisting together.
"Mana is strong enough?!" she said in a voice full of fear. "My father?!How could it be!"
Robert suddenly understood everything.
"You don't think your father would use Dragon Balls?"
"I'm afraid he will. Albert replied with clasped hands. He said that by his own strength he could drive out the evil power. He mustβ" She quickly crouched down. "Wake him up!" her dark eyes sparkled.
"I must know! Wake him up and tell me what's in danger!"
Calamon gently but firmly pulled her away. Albert glared at him, an expression of fear and anger, and for a moment, as if she wanted to give Callamon a slap.
But Robert quickly walked up to her and grabbed her hand.
"Ms. Albert. He said calmly. "It won't do any good to wake him up, he's already told us everything he knows. He obviously didn't remember what the other voice had said. β
"I've seen my little brother do this before. Calamon whispered. "It's as if he's become a different person. Every time he looked like this, he was exhausted and ended up not remembering anything.
Albert tore his hand away, his expression as calm as white marble.
She turned around and walked to the front half of the cave, pulled the blanket that the river wind hung on the cave, almost ripped it off, and walked out of the cave.
"I'm on the first guard shift. Robert told Calamon, "You go and rest first." β
"I'm going to take care of Rodrith first. Dahan spread the blanket beside his emaciated brother. Robert followed Albert out the door.
Griffons slept soundly, their soft feathers on their pillows, their sharp claws clung to the edge of the cliff, and there was no danger.
In the darkness he could not find Albert for a moment, and then found her leaning against a large rock, her hands covering her face, and crying bitterly.
If this proud Sivanasti elf had made her weaker side visible, she would never forgive him. Robert quietly ducked back behind the blanket. "I'm going out for the vigil!" he said deliberately loudly before he stepped out again.
He lifted the blanket and squinted at Albert standing up, hurriedly wiping his face with his hands.
She turned her back to him, and he walked slowly and methodically, giving her time to regain her composure.
"The air inside the cave is so stuffy. She said in a low voice. "I can't stand it. I got to get some fresh air. β
"I keep the night of the first shift. Robert said, then casually asked, "You seem to be worried that your father will use this Dragon Ball."
He should know about the past of this Dragon Ball, right? If I'm not mistaken, he should be a mage too. β
"All he knows is where this dragon ball came from. Albert's voice trembled slightly, though she tried to restrain herself. "What the young mage said about the Lost War and the fall of the Tower of the Masters is correct.
But he wasn't entirely right when he said that the other three dragon balls had disappeared, and my father took one to Sivanasti for safekeeping. β
"What the hell is the Lost War all about?" said Robert, leaning against a large rock next to Albert.
"Isn't there any record of Quilenos?" she looked at Robert with disdain. "You mixed with humans and turned out to be such barbarians!"
"It's all my fault. Robert said. "I never pay attention to listen to the elders of the clan explain the history of the past. β
Albert glared at him, not knowing if he was telling the truth or being sarcastic. But seeing the serious expression on his face, and the fact that she also wanted someone to accompany her, she decided to answer the question.
"When Estar grew in power during the Age of Power, the Pope of Ishtar and his priests were jealous of the power of the mage.
The priest felt that magic was no longer needed in the world, because they could not control the power, so they were afraid of it.
Although mages are widely respected, even those who wear white robes do not have the full trust of the people.
It is easy for a priest to incite rejection of the mage. As the days got worse, the priest began to blame the mage for his sins.
Every mage must pass through the Tower of the Mage, which is a terrifying trial, and naturally becomes a target.
Mobs are frantically attacking these places. As your friend said, the mages are once again united to defend their last bastion. β
"How could they have been defeated?!" Robert asked incredulously.
"You've been with your mage friend for so long, how can you ask such an ignorant question? No matter how great a mage is, he needs to use the rest time to re-memorize these spells and regain his strength.
Even the strongest magicians whose power had disappeared from the Candela with this tragedy had to spend hours reading spellbooks and reciting them.
At that time, as now, there were not many mages. Not many people dare to take the test in the Wizard's Tower, because failure is a dead end. β
"A dead end?" Robert whispered.
"Yes. Albert replied. "Your friend must be very brave or very ambitious to be so young that he dares to take on trials. Did he never tell you?"
'Nope. Robert muttered, "He never mentioned it." You continue. β
Albert shrugged. When this battle became one-sided, the mage himself destroyed the two towers of the ** division, and the explosive force generated made the nearby radius of dozens of miles without a single inch of grass. Only three of the Wizard's Towers remained.
Tower of Ishta, Tower of Paranzas, Tower of Willis. The destruction of the two towers in front frightened the Pope, so he spared the wizards in the two towers of Isha and Paranzas.
Guarantee them unscathed, in exchange for them leaving the towers peacefully, as the Pope is well aware that wizards can easily destroy both cities together. β
So the wizards went to the Tower of the Magies, the Tower of Willis, in the Carolitic Mountains.
In Willis, they heal the wounds and pain, guarding the last vestiges of magic in the world. They don't have spell books to carry with them, because there are so many, and many of them have protective magic on them;
So they were all given to the Great Library of the city of Paranzas. According to the legend of our people, those spell books are still well preserved in them. β
The silver moon rose, and the silver-white light shone on its daughter's face, and although she had a grim appearance, Robert couldn't help but secretly admire it.
"Did you know there is a third moon?" he looked at the night sky with a shudder. "The black moon. β
"I only know a little bit. Albert replied. "The power of the mages comes from the moon, the white-robed mage draws power from the silver moon, and the red moon gives the red-robed mage abilities.
According to legend, the source of the power of the black-robed mages was also a moon, but only they knew its name and how to find it in the night sky. β
Rodrith knew, at least the other voice inside him knew, Robert thought to himself, but didn't say it.
"How did your father get the Dragon Balls?"
"My father, Rolac, was an apprentice. Albert turned to face the moon and replied softly. He went to the Wizard's Tower in Ista to undergo the trial, and he successfully passed it. That's when he saw the Dragon Ball for the first time," she was silent for a while.
"The story I'm about to tell you, I haven't told anyone, and my father hasn't told anyone but me. I'll tell you just because you have the power to know what's about to be faced. β
"In the middle of the quiz, Dragon Ballβ" Albert hesitated for a moment, searching for a more appropriate word, "talk to him, communicate with his heart." It seems to be afraid of some kind of big change that is coming. 'You can't leave me in this tower,' it said.
If I am destroyed, the future of the whole world will come. 'My fatherβI think you could say he stole the Dragon Balls, even though he thought he was protecting the priceless Dragon Balls.
The mages abandoned the Tower of Ishta, and the Pope appropriated it for his own use.
Eventually, the mages gave up on the Tower of Paranzas. Albert shuddered.
"It's a very tragic story. The Pope's men, the local magistrates, went to seal the tower of wizards;
But everyone could tell that his eyes were looking greedily at the wizard's tower, because the infinite treasures in the legend, beautiful and ugly, had long been known to the entire continent. β
The white-robed mage closed its golden door and locked it with a silver key.
When the magistrate couldn't wait to reach out and take the key, a black-robed mage appeared in the window of the tower. β
"'This door, this tower, will never come near until a strong man who can freely control the past and future appears!'" he shouted.
The evil mage jumped out of the tower and fell towards the gate. The spikes on the door pierced his body, and he cast his final curse on the tower.
The golden and silver gates began to twist and deform, and finally turned a terrifying black.
The white and red minarets turned lifeless gray, and the black minarets turned into a pile of rubble. β
"The magistrates and the populace turned and fled in fear. From that day on, no one dared to enter the Tower of Paranzas, not even close to the gates.
It was only after the Wizard's Tower was cursed that my father brought the Dragon Balls to Sivanasti. β
"But your father should know more before he takes the Dragon Balls, right?" Robert asked, "like how to use-"
