Chapter 132: The Mystery of the Mirror
"It's okay, I don't think my mother cares about any of that. As long as people who know her don't think like that, as for the thoughts of those who don't matter, it won't do us any harm. Wood walked away, not taking the bottle with the tearstone.
Professor Shivara looked at the tearstones shining in the sunlight, and then at Wood's vanishing back, and gradually, the corners of his lips began to rise slightly.
It was almost evening, and Wood was walking alone on the path, with no one around. Wood took out the mirror, and the moon that had just risen was reflected in the mirror, as if there were two moons in the sky.
Wood wanted to be alone, so he sat down on a large rock. Looking at the moon in the mirror, Wood's heart stirred, and the question that had been bothering him seemed to remind Wood of something.
"Lilia. Suddenly, Wood blurted out his mother's name, and when it came out of Wood's mouth, even Wood himself was surprised to close his mouth. Wood wasn't prepared, and he was just silently repeating the name in his mind, not expecting him to say it.
But when Wood realized that he had already said the name, he was looking forward to it. At that moment, Wood was actually ready in his heart, and no matter what the outcome was, it would not affect Wood, because he always believed that his mother was still there. Mother is like air around Wood, and Wood will feel her presence whenever and wherever he is, and this is a feeling that nothing can change.
The spectral mirror began to change in Wood's hands, and the small dot at the lower end of the spectral began to expand incessantly. Eventually, the entire mirror turned black, and the fog inside was like a dye, rendering the entire mirror black.
Wood's eyes looked at the mirror unblinkingly in the moonlight, hoping to see his mother's figure inside, even if it was a little. But Wood's was able to do so for a long time, and the fog was still there, showing no sign of dissipating.
Wood hadn't tried this before, the fog should have dissipated quickly, but this time the fog had been lingering inside, and it wouldn't recede.
Maybe it's too dim in the light, Wood thought, chanting a spell as fireflies suddenly surround him. The light from their tails illuminated Wood's surroundings, but even so, the spectre was black, and nothing could be seen in it.
Eventually Wood had to go back to his dorm because it was too late. When Wood returned to the bedroom, Mante didn't sleep for the first time, but sat on his hair excitedly, and when he saw Wood coming back, Mante walked over excitedly and took Wood's hand.
"What's the matter, why don't you sleep and sit here alone?" Wood asked, puzzled, for having time not to sleep was really rare for Mante.
"Tell me, Wood, what have you been doing this afternoon?" asked Mante excitedly, fearing that his voice would wake the others up, Mante asked in a low voice.
"No, didn't I tell you, I'm going to return the remaining potion to Professor Shivara. Wood had already told Mante and Suri about this when he left, and wondered why Mante was so excited about the issue.
"Then why did you come back so late, did Professor Shivara tell you something?" Mante asked, still refusing to give up, Wood was confused by his question, wondering why Mante was so excited.
"Professor Shivara was doing experiments, and you know, he didn't want anybody to disturb him while he was doing it. So, I had to wait until he finished his experiment. I didn't expect his experiment to be so tedious, and it didn't end until the evening. Are you satisfied, can I sleep?" Wood didn't want to continue with Mante, because Wood was really sleepy at this point, and after standing at Professor Shivala's place all afternoon, his legs were too tired to bend. At this time, Wood just wanted to lie in bed and rest, but he didn't want Mante to do it.
"Didn't Professor Shivara tell you something else?" Mante asked.
"He didn't say anything, but he wanted to give me the results of his experiments, and I thought it was too valuable, so I didn't accept it. What exactly do you want to ask, just tell me, I'm really sleepy right now. Wood said impatiently, Mante today was like a different person.
"You don't know, Professor Shivara is said to be leaving the Bird Silent Academy. Didn't he tell you about it all the time you spent in his lab??" Mante finally said to himself, and Wood already knew the cause of Mante's anomaly today.
"Who told you that Professor Shivara was leaving here, and if he did, what would happen after our magic class?" Although he and Professor Shivara have been at odds lately, Wood doesn't want him to leave the Bird Whisper Academy.
"I don't know who spread the news first, but now everyone is talking about it. "Mante has been in such a state of excitement ever since he learned that Professor Shivara was leaving the Bird Silent Academy.
"Do you know who will take over Professor Shivara?" Wood asked absentmindedly, thinking about Professor Shivala's attitude today, and what Mante said was really possible.
"You don't know this yet, but we should find out soon. I don't know who will take Professor Shivara's place, but whoever it is, we should all be thankful. Because whoever comes, it should be better than Professor Shivala, because he's targeting you, and everyone can see it. Mante said that the reason why he was so excited was because after Professor Shivara was gone, they would have a long time to live, and they would not have to wait for Professor Shivara to appear.
"It's really hard to say, now that the whole wizarding world knows about my origins, there should be many people who hate my mother. So......" Wood said at the end with a smile, as if he had seen what his future would be.
"I believe that there are still many reasonable people in the wizarding world, and you can rest assured, not everyone can be qualified to come to our professors of the Bird Silent Academy. I believe that our future magic professor will definitely be a good professor who is reasonable. Mante said confidently.
