Chapter Eighty-Four: Disappearing (I)
Grande, Strength Rating Institute.
"Ellie, we're talking about celebrating the night at the Starlight Inn in the west of the city, would you like to join us?" asked Casio, turning to the girl.
"Thank you for your kindness, but my brother is still waiting for me outside, so I'm sorry I can't be with you. Ellie replied politely.
Casio showed a regretful expression, smiled faintly, and said, "In short, thank you for saving you before, so I'll see you again in the future!"
"I guess I'm thanking you. Ellie smiled, waved at the other man, and walked out the door.
The magician looked thoughtfully at the girl's slender back, the white blue bow on her back was overflowing with a soft milky white halo.
When the girl passed by Charlie, she obviously felt a strange aura, and immediately frowned, and hurriedly quickened her pace.
"Luna, how could that guy be defeated at the hands of a little girl. Charlie bowed his head and groaned, and the Thunder Knight moved, and disappeared in an instant.
——
Loras was standing under the camphor tree at the door of the military plane, wiping the tip of the silver spear with his head down.
As soon as Ellie walked out of the door, she saw a familiar figure and immediately shouted excitedly, "Brother!"
Loras looked up and walked quickly towards Ellie, and asked impatiently, "How is it? Have you passed the exam?" he said, putting the spear back on his back and giving the girl an affectionate hug.
Instead of answering, Ellie reached into her pocket, took out a shiny badge, and said, "Look what this is!"
Seeing the excitement on her sister's face, Loras naturally guessed that the other party had passed the assessment, and the big stone in her heart finally landed.
He took the badge and looked at the pattern on it.
In the center of the coat of arms is carved a longbow with the edges of a staggered intertwined green vine. He put the badge on the back side up, and it was engraved with the Quranic script "3". Loras looked at the six-pointed star array looming on the badge and seemed to think of something.
"Ellie, that's great!" Loras exclaimed in heartfelt admiration, handing the badge back to Ellie.
The girl nodded vigorously and said, "Not only that, but I also made two friends there. Ellie briefly described what Lilith and Casio looked like.
Loras smiled with satisfaction, looked at the increasingly gloomy sky, and urged softly, "Let's hurry back to the Prime Minister's Mansion, Miss Rosie and Rodrith should still be waiting for us to go back for dinner, and we must tell them the good news." ”
So the two walked side by side on the way home, Ellie was still excited, and she was still immersed in the joy of success. Even she couldn't figure out how she passed the test, but it wasn't all that important.
"By the way, brother, there's one thing I want to tell you. The girl's face in the shadow of the tree began to tense.
Loras couldn't help but slow down when she heard this, and said with concern, "Well, what's wrong?"
"During the assessment, it seems that something strange happened. Ellie said, taking off the white blue bow and holding it in her hand.
The shortbow glowed a milky white glow, especially on a grey evening, and Loras could barely take his eyes off it.
"Tell me what's going on?" Loras asked, rubbing her eyes and looking up, in an eager tone.
Ellie gave a rough description of what she had seen when she first arrived at the Strength Assessment, and Loras listened patiently, nodding her head from time to time.
However, when the girl said that Luna had called her to stop, she suddenly paused and refused to continue.
"What's wrong?" Loras realized that something was wrong with her sister, and her voice couldn't help but raise a few points.
"Brother, do you remember what happened when we first left Vero and entered the forest?"
Loras bowed her head for a moment, then spoke, "Is it the forest where we encountered the Thunder Knight?"
"Yes, do you remember that one of the three Thunder Knights was a female swordsman?" Ellie continued.
Loras nodded, a puzzled expression. "yes, but why did you bring it up all of a sudden?"
The horrific experience still haunts him to this day, and Kyle's grim eyes follow him like a nightmare.
"I didn't expect that female swordsman to be one of the examiners!" Ellie's words surprised Loras.
"Is it because Charlie is the examiner?" said Loras, quickening his pace, the sky soon to be completely dark. "What about Kyle, did he show up there?"
"Nope. The girl shook her head, and continued, "Only the female knight, and her name is Luna." ”
"Could it be that the people in charge of our assessment are all members of the Thunder Knights?" Loras guessed.
"Probably not, the other examiner is a middle-aged man who looks like a high-level magician. ”
Loras breathed a sigh of relief, though he still didn't understand what Ellie was trying to say.
"That's not the point, all the practitioners who took the test were divided into three groups, and Lilith and I were placed in the group that Luna was in charge of. Ellie explained slowly, the shadows of the trees on the Champs-Ésés swaying at night, and the deep streets making people shudder.
Ellie continues until Luna announces that she has failed the test.
"Wait, didn't you say you've passed the test, and now that Luna has already announced her results, how can she still earn the Power Badge after that?" Loras wondered.
"That's what I want to say to you, and what happened after that was far more than I could have imagined. Ellie still had a lingering feeling as she saw a light not far away—she was approaching the Prime Minister's Mansion.
"Tell me what's going on?" the two walked to the gate of the Prime Minister's Mansion and stopped.
Loras breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the two guards standing in the doorway.
"Let's go inside, it's not too late for dinner. Ellie spoke, eager to meet Rosie and Rodrith.
"Well, I'm sure they'll be happy to know that you've passed the test. Loras smiled and walked in with the girl.
The two of them walked through the narrow corridor and finally reached the door of the dining room. Ellie took a deep breath and knocked softly on the wooden door.
After a few seconds, there was no response in the room. Loras and Ellie looked at each other, a little surprised by what they saw.
Usually this is the time for dinner, and Rodrith and Rosie should eat in the dining room.
A sense of foreboding welled up in Loras's mind, and he quickly lost his patience, grabbed the handle and twisted it violently, pushed the door open, and walked in.
