Chapter 212: The Dead Are Resurrected
"What about them?" asked Robert, shaking Rodrith. "Rolana?
What about the others, your brother? Are they all dead?" he looked around.
"And the dragon—"
"The dragon has left. When the Dragon Ball knew that it had no way to defeat me, it sent the dragon away. Rodrith pushed Robert away and stood against the wall.
"Although at the time it had no way to beat me. But now even a child can defeat me. He said dejectedly.
"As for the others......" he shrugged helplessly.
"I don't know. He looked at Robert with strange eyes, "You survived, half-elf, because your love is very strong."
And I survived because of my ambition. In this way, we maintain a connection between nightmares and reality. So how do we know how the others are doing now?"
"Then Calamon may still be alive. Robert said. "Because of his love for you. With his last breath, he begged me to spare your life.
Tell me, Master, can't the future we just saw change?"
"Why ask?" said Rodrith wearily. "Robert, are you going to kill me now?"
"I don't know—" Robert whispered, thinking about Calamon's last words. "Maybe. ”
Rodrith smiled sadly. "Save your energy!" he said. "As we stand here, the future is constantly changing, otherwise we would not be the children of the gods, but pawns in their game.
But—" the mage left the wall he was leaning on, "it's not over yet. We've got to find Lorak and Dragon Ball. ”
Rodrith made his way down the hallway, leaning on his staff of Martes. The glow of the crystal ball illuminated the walkway that had just shone green.
Green light, Robert stands in the aisle, puzzled, trying to separate the dream from the reality.
For the scene in the dream was more real than what he saw at the moment. He looked at the broken walls.
Was there really a dragon over there? Was there really a green light at the end of the hallway? But now the night was falling, and the hallway was dark.
When they first came it was morning, and the moon had not yet risen, but now it was a full moon. How many nights have passed? How many days have passed?
Then Robert heard a loud bang coming from the bottom of the hallway.
"Little Thunder!"
The mage stopped, his shoulders bowed, and slowly turned around.
"My brother. He whispered.
Calamon stood unharmed in the middle of the hallway, looking at his twin brother in the starlight. Robert heard Rodrith sigh softly.
"I'm tired, Calamon. The mage coughed and inhaled with a hissing sound.
"We still have a lot to do before the nightmare is over and the moon light falls. Rodrith held out his thin hand. "Brother, I need your help. ”
Robert heard Calamon sob. The big man ran into the room, and the sword made an annoying noise.
He ran to his brother and hugged him tightly.
Rodrith leaned against Calamon's strong arm. Together, the twins walked across the broken walls towards the room where Robert saw the green light and the dragon.
Robert was nervous and followed them.
The three of them entered the waiting room of the Tower of the Stars, and Robert looked around curiously.
He used to hear people praise its beauty. The Tower of the Sun in Quilenos was built in honor of the Tower of the Stars. The two towers are somewhat similar, but not exactly alike.
One is full of light, the other is full of darkness. He looked around, the marble spire above it shimmering with a pearl-colored glow.
The purpose of the tower is to collect moonlight, just as the Tower of the Sun was designed to collect sunlight.
The windows in the tower are made of precious stones, which are specially used to refract and collect the rays of the two moons, so that the red and white lights intersect in the hall.
But now, all the sparkling gems are broken.
The moonlight that pierced through them distorted with it. The silver moonlight was as white as a corpse, and the red was as terrifying as blood.
Robert looked at the top with a shudder. In Quilenos, the ceiling is covered with frescoes depicting constellations, two moons and the sun.
But there was nothing at the top of the tower, only a carved black hole.
Through the hole, one could see the infinite darkness and the stars without any light.
It was like a black cave in the starry sky, and just as he was thinking about the meaning, Rodrith suddenly spoke, and he turned to listen.
In the middle of the parlor sat Albert's father, Rolack.
His shrunken, twisted body nearly disappeared into a massive throne carved with birds and beasts.
The throne may have been beautiful at the same time, but now the birds and beasts on the throne are all skeletons.
Lorac sat motionless, his head tilted back, as if he were screaming silently.
His hand rests on a round crystal ball. "Is he still alive?" Robert felt a chill.
"Yes!" replied Rodrith. "Repentance all the time. ”
"What's wrong with him?"
"He lives in nightmares. Rodris replied, gesturing to Rollak's hand. "That's Dragon Ball, apparently he's trying to control it.
It's a pity that he wasn't firm enough, so he was controlled by Dragon Ball instead. The Dragon Ball summons the wrath of Azure Blood Red to protect Sivanasti, and the dragon decides to torture him by letting him live in a nightmare.
Rollak sleeps in this nightmare, he loves the land so much that the nightmare comes true.
So what we entered into was his nightmare. His dreams – and ours.
For from the moment we walked into Sivanas, we also fell into the dragon's grasp. ”
"You knew we were going to face this!" Robert grabbed Rodrith, pulled him over, and scolded him loudly, "You knew we were going to walk through such a horrible place, you knew it by the river—"
"Robert. Calamon warned to remove the half-elf's hand. "You are not allowed to do this to him. ”
"Maybe!" Rodrith twisted his shoulders. He narrowed his eyes. "Maybe not. What's more, I'm not obligated to tell you everything I know!"
Before he could reply, Robert heard a whisper that sounded like it was coming from under the throne.
Robert gave Rodrith an angry look, then turned to look at the source of the voice. He carefully raised his sword and approached that direction.
"Albert?!"
The elven woman lay on top of her father, her head resting on his knees and weeping, she didn't notice Robert, he walked towards her.
"Albert. She said softly. She looked up in confusion.
"Albert. He called her name again.
She blinked, trembling and grasping at him, as if trying to grasp the real world.
"Half-elf!" she whispered, "how did you get here? What happened? I heard the mage say it was a dream. Albert recalled with fear. "I—I refuse to believe in this dream.
I woke up, only to find that my nightmare had come true! My beautiful home was now in a terrible ruins......" he covered his face with his hands. Robert knelt beside her and hugged her tightly.
"I went all the way in my dreams. It took me days. She grabbed Robert, "Just as I was about to enter the tower, the dragon grabbed me.
It brought me here, to my father, and wanted him to kill me.
But even in a nightmare, my father couldn't do anything to his own daughter. So Zhan Lan tortured him with hallucinations: it was the sight of tormenting and humiliating me. ”
"What about you, do you see that too?" asked Robert in a low voice, stroking the woman's long, silky hair.
After a moment, Albert spoke, "It's not that scary, I know it's a dream." But my father thought it was true—" she began to sob.
The half-elf gestured to Calamon over. "Take Alhanna to a place where she can lie down and rest. We'll try to help her father. ”
"I'm fine, brother. Rodrith responded to Calamon's concerned gaze. "Do as Robert says. ”
"Come on, Albert. Robert helped her to her feet. She staggered along.
"Is there a place where you can rest? You need to recuperate. ”
She wanted to resist, but she realized how weak she was.
"Take me to my father's room. She said. "I'll show you how to get there. ”
Calamon helped her as the two slowly walked away from the hall. Robert looked back at Rorak. Rodrith stood in front of the Elven King, and Robert heard the mage whispering to himself.
"What's wrong?" the half-elf asked quietly. "Is he dead?"
"Who?" said Rodrith with a flustered wink. He saw Robert looking at Rorak.
"Oh, No, I don't believe so. The time has not yet come. Robert realized that the mage was looking at the Dragon Balls.
"Is the Dragon Ball still in control of him?" said Robert, nervously looking at what he had worked so hard to find.
The Dragon Ball is a huge crystal ball with a diameter of at least twenty-four inches. It rests on a twisted, deformed gold pedestal, like the tormented fate of Sivanastia.
This dragon ball should be the source of the powerful green light, but now it can only see a little pulsating green light in the deepest part of it.
Rodrith placed his hand on the Dragon Ball, and Robert noticed that he was trying not to touch the magical surface of the spell as he recited it.
A faint burst of red light began to envelop the Dragon Balls, and Robert took a step back.
"Don't be afraid. Rodrith watched the red light fade away and whispered, "This is my spell."
The dragon ball itself has a spell attached to it, and although the dragon is gone, it doesn't fail as I expected. It still dominates everything. ”
"Do you mean controlling Rorak?"
"It's about controlling itself. It has unleashed Rollak. ”
"Is it because of you?" Robert muttered, "did you defeat it?"
"Dragon Ball was not defeated!" replied Rodlis immediately. "With the help of other powers, I can defeat that dragon.
Dragon Ball knew that the Blue Blood Wrath would be defeated, so they sent it away. It freed Rorac because he was no longer useful.
But the power of Dragon Ball is still very strong.
"Rodres, tell me—"
"I have nothing to say, Robert. The mage coughed. "I have to keep my energy up. ”
Whose help did Rodlis accept? What does he know about this Dragon Ball?
Robert was about to follow, but when he saw Rodrith's golden eyes, he closed his mouth.
"We can release Rorak now. Rodlis said again. He walked over to the Elven King and gently removed Rorak's hand from the Dragon Ball, placing one hand around his neck.
"He's alive, at least for now. The pulse is faint, come on, you can get a little closer. ”
But Robert looked at the Dragon Ball and took a step back instead. Rodrith looked at the half-elf with amusement and stepped back as well.
Robert reluctantly asked, "To answer me one more question, is the Dragon Ball still useful to us?"
Rodlis was silent for a long time. Then he replied in a whisper, "Others, if we dare." ”
Lorak took a deep breath and let out a scream. The voice was subtle, but chilling.
His hands shrunk and twisted like skull-like claws, and his gray eyes were closed. In vain Robert tried to calm him down.
Rollak continued to scream until he couldn't make a sound, but continued his silent screams.
"Father!" said Robert, who heard Albert cry. She reappeared in the hall, pushing Kalamon away and running to her father.
Holding his thin hand tightly and kissing it, she cried and begged him not to scream.
"Rest! She kept reading, "The nightmare is over."
The dragon has left. You can rest, Father!"
But his screams continued.
"Oh my God!" Calamon stepped forward with a pale face, "I can't take it anymore. ”
"Father!" Albert pleaded over and over again. Slowly, his beloved voice pierced through the distorted images in Rollac's mind.
The screams gradually faded and finally turned into a subtle hum. Finally, as if afraid of what was in front of him, he cautiously opened his eyes.
"Albert, my child, you're still alive!" he held up his trembling hand and stroked her cheek.
"It can't be...... I saw you die, Albert. I've seen you die hundreds of times, each time worse than the last.
He killed you, Albert, and even more terrible. He wants me to kill you.
But I can't. Although I don't know why, because I've killed so many people. Then he saw Robert's face.
His eyes shone with rage, mixed with the flames of anger.
"It's you!" shouted Rorak, who rose from his throne and gripped the handle of the throne with both hands. "You, half-elf, I'm going to kill you—I'm going to try to do that anyway, I'm going to protect Sivanasti!
I'm going to kill you, kill everyone you're with!" Then his eyes turned to Rodlis, the anger in his eyes turning to fear, and he shivered and immediately withdrew from the mage.
"But you, I can't kill you......" Rollak's frightened eyes turned confused again.
"No!" he cried, "you're not him! your robes aren't black!" Rorack let out a heart-rending cry.
