Chapter 302: Hallucination
Rodrith gently laid him down and made him lie down comfortably, his back resting against the cold stone wall outside the tower. Then Rodrith turned to leave.
"Little Ray, don'tβ" Calamon shouted. "You can't leave me here!"
The wounded, unarmed warrior looked around. He saw the undead who had just attacked them start to try again. There was only one thing that kept them from moving forward, and that was his brother's magic.
"Little Ray, don't leave me!" he screamed.
"How does it feel to be weak and lonely?" asked Rodrith softly.
"Little Ray! good brother. β
"I killed him once, Robert, I can do it again!"
"Little Thunder!
"Calamon, I beg you. Another voice appeared. The voice is gentle.
Soft hands touched him. "Calamon, please! Wake up, Wake up, Calamon. Wake up and see me, I need you. β
Don't!, Calamon pushed the voice away. He pushed those soft hands away. No, I don't want to come back.
I don't want to. I'm tired. I'm sad. I want to rest.
But the hands, the voice wouldn't let him rest. They grabbed him and pulled him out of the abyss.
Now he kept falling down, into the terrible red darkness.
The skeletal hand grasped him, the eyeless skull encircling him, its mouth open but not making a sound.
He took a deep breath and sank into the blood around him. He struggled, flapped, and finally surfaced again, trying to breathe.
No, he's gone. His friend, Robert, is also gone.
He saw them washed away by the water. The boat is also gone.
Split in half. The sailors were torn apart, blood and sea water mixed together.
Only she was around.
He held her closer, and she struggled to breathe.
But he couldn't catch her. The rushing water snatched her from him and pulled him down.
There was no way for him to surface this time. His lungs felt like they were about to catch fire. Death......
Rest...... Sweet, warm......
But those hands, always reluctant to go away, pulled him to the damn water.
and gave him another chance to breathe that air.
Then another pair of hands, reaching out from the bright red waters, firm hands, pulled him down into the dark waters.
He kept falling...... Down...... Dark.
The spell made him feel a little better, and he began to breathe......
Breathe in water...... He closed his eyes...... The water is warm and comfortable...... He was like a kid again.
But he wasn't a complete child, and his twin brother was gone.
Don't! It's too painful to wake up.
It is much better for him to float forever in that dark dream than this terrible pain.
But the hands were holding him tightly, and the voice kept calling him.
"Calamon, I need your ......"
Lena.
"I'm not a pastor, but I'm sure he's okay by now. Let him sleep for a while. β
Lena quickly wiped away her tears, trying to look stronger.
"How...... How?" she asked calmly, but she still shuddered.
"When the ship sank β was he hurt when it sank? He's been like this for days.
It's been that way since you found us. β
"Probably not, I don't think so. If he's hurt, the sea elves should heal him.
It's about himself. Who is the 'little thunder' he has been chanting in his mouth?"
"His twin brother," Lena said hesitantly.
"What happened? Is he dead?"
"N-no. I- I'm not quite sure what's going on.
Calamon loved his brother very much, and he ...... Rodrith betrayed him. β
"I see. The man nodded solemnly. "It's always going to happen up there, and you don't understand why I chose to live here?"
"You saved his life!" said Lena. "I don't know you yet...... Your name. β
"Sebra," the man replied with a smile. "I didn't save his life. It was because of your love for him that he woke up. β
Lena lowered her head, her red curls covering her face. "I hope so!" she whispered.
"I love him so much. If I could save his life, I'd rather trade my life for it. β
After making sure that Calamon would be okay, Lena began to turn her attention to the strange man.
She judged the man to be about medium age, with a cleanly shaved beard and eyes as sincere as his smile.
He was a human in a red robe. Some bags are tied around the waist. "You're a magician," Lena said suddenly. "Like Rodrith!"
"Ah, that explains everything. Sebra said with a smile. "He saw me in a semi-comatose state, and reminded the young man of his brother. β
"But what are you doing here?" Lena surveyed her surroundings, carefully examining them for the first time.
Of course she had paid attention to the place when the man had brought them.
But she was too worried to concentrate, and now she found herself in a decadent hall.
The air was warm and humid. Plants thrive in this humid air.
There was some furniture around, but they were as dilapidated as this room.
Calamon lies on a three-legged bed, and the fourth foot is replaced by a moss-covered book.
A small stream of water, like a glowing snake. It keeps flowing down from the walls.
In fact, everything was stained with moisture, and the moss on the walls reflected on it glowed strangely.
There was moss everywhere, and there were all kinds of different colors.
Dark green, golden, and coral-red moss climbed over every wall and the dome overhead.
"What am I doing here?" she murmured. "Where is this again?"
"Here it isβwell, I guess you could just call it 'here'. Sebra replied softly.
"The sea elves saved you from drowning, and I brought you here. β
"I've never heard of a sea elf. Lena looked around curiously, as if she could see a sea elf hiding in the closet.
"I don't remember any elves saving me. I just remember some kind of huge, cute fish ......"
"Oh, you won't see sea elves here. They are afraid, and they don't believe in 'Esclell', the 'air-sucking one' in their language.
The fish you see are the sea elves, and they only let "Esclell" see them. You call them dolphins. β
Calamon twitched in his sleep and wailed.
Putting her hand on his forehead, Lena brushed her sweaty hair away to calm him down.
"Then why did you save us?" she asked.
"Do you know any elves, elves on land?" asked Sebra rhetorically.
"Yes. Lena whispered, the shadow of Lolana in her head.
"Then you know that for all elves, life is sacred. β
"I understand. Lena nodded. "Like the elves on land, they are isolated from the world without helping it. β
"They help the world in their own way," Sebra immediately retorted. "Don't criticize what you don't understand, young lady. β
"I'm sorry. Lena said with a blushing face. She changed the subject. "But you, you're a human being. Why-"
"Why am I here? I have neither the time nor the heart to tell you my story, because it is clear that you will not know me either. None else will. β
Lena held her breath. "Are there any others? Have you seen the other people on our ship, my friend?"
Sebra shrugged. "There's always someone else down there.
The ruins are huge, and many of them still have some air left in them.
We take the people we save to the closest ruins. As for your friends, I'm not sure.
If they're on the same ship as you, they're probably dead.
The sea elves have freed the souls of those who have died through proper rituals. Sebra stood up.
"I'm glad your lover survived. There was a lot of food around. Most of the plants you see are edible.
If you want to look around, that's fine, I've cast a spell so you don't run into the sea and drown.
Tidy up this place. You'll find more furnitureβ"
"Wait!" Lena shouted. "We can't stay here, we have to go back to the sea.
There must be a way out, right?"
"Everybody asks me that," Sebra said with some impatience.
"And, frankly, I agree, there must be another way out.
Occasionally, someone finds these paths. Others, like me, decided they didn't need to go back to the surface.
I have a couple of old friends who have been here for many years. But, see for yourself.
You can find out for yourself.
As long as you stay in the area we've arranged for you, you'll be fine. He turned and walked to the door.
"Wait, don't go," Lena jumped to her feet, kicked over the unsteady chair, and caught up with the red-robed magician. "You may see my friend.
You can tell themβ"
Robert wasn't particularly conscious, and he couldn't figure out why he had come to such a strange place.
Although the big ship they were on before sailed into the turbulent whirlpool.
But no one thinks of their surroundings, not a murky water.
It is an ancient and mysterious city, which seems to have been abandoned for a long time.
There was no doubt that they didn't want to stay in this lifeless place anymore. Lena wanted to find her way back, to the continent where they had been.
"There are dreams we pursue and things to protect. Robert muttered.
