Chapter 69: I don't know if I'm in danger
Wood looked at Mante, who was lying beside him, curled up, not sure if he had fallen asleep or fainted. The ice on Mante's body melted as well, much to Wood's relief.
But when Wood turned around again, he saw Su Rui lying on the other side.
"Suri, Suri?" Wood whispered Suri's name, he didn't know where they were, looking at the surroundings, it looked like a prisoner's prison.
Su Rui didn't react at all, Wood tested Su Rui's body temperature, and fortunately it was warm. Wood stood up, and where they were, surrounded by ice rocks, the sunlight shining in, and the reflection of the ice stones, making it look like they were in an ocean of light.
Wood reached out and touched the ice stone, and immediately retracted his hand, the ice here was too cold, just touching it, Wood felt that his body was going to be frozen together.
"You're Wood?" a soft voice suddenly came from behind him, and Wood's body shook violently, and then he slowly turned around. When Wood saw the faces of the people standing across from him, he felt the blood in his body churn.
"Is that you?" Wood's eyes widened, feeling like he was hallucinating.
"Yes, why, you don't seem to be happy to see me?" a lady with elegant manners looked at Wood tenderly, and the smile on her face was bright.
"Why are you here?" Wood couldn't help but ask, Suri and Mante still asleep.
"I've always been here, and you accidentally broke into my territory. How are you and your friends doing at the Bird Whispering Academy, and judging by how you look, you should be doing well, right?" asked the lady softly, holding out her hands and holding Wood's cheeks in her palms. Her gaze was kind and gentle, and for a moment, Wood felt like he had found a warm harbor.
"Yes, I had a great time there, I didn't know you were here, my friend and I accidentally got lost, can you send us back?" Wood asked, bewildered, looking like a child who couldn't find a home.
"Of course, my child, I'd be happy to do anything for you. It's just that the situation is a bit complicated out there now, so I think you'd better wait for your friends to wake up before going back. The lady said, and Wood nodded in agreement.
"What's wrong with them, why am I keeping them awake?" Wood asked.
"Don't worry, they're just too tired, just rest for a while, they'll wake up soon. Before they wake up, why don't you go for a walk with me?" the lady invited Wood with a smile.
"But they?" Wood still didn't feel comfortable leaving Suri and Mante here.
"Don't worry, they'll be fine, don't you believe me?" said the lady sincerely, and Wood looked at Madame and then at Suri, and finally agreed to Madame's invitation.
"Can you tell me the names of those two friends of yours?" asked Madame, with a charming smile on her face all the time. Wood remembers the first time he saw her, she looked in a hurry, but even if she was in a hurry, she had a shallow smile on her face.
"That girl's name is Su Rui, and she is a very smart girl. Wood said.
"Well, you can see that she is indeed a very good girl. The other one, the chubby boy who is very cute?" asked Madame.
"Cute, ma'am, do you think he's cute?" Wood couldn't help but laugh when he heard Madame say this about Mante.
"It's nice that you're finally smiling, I mean your smile looks so good, it's like the sun rising, and people feel at ease when they see it. Madame suddenly said very kindly, and it felt like a mother talking to her child.
"Madame, do you have children? I think your children will be the happiest. Wood said that was what he really felt in his heart.
"Really? But unfortunately, I don't have any children. I think that your mother should be the happiest mother in the world. The lady smiled, her hand stroking Wood's blonde hair.
"I don't know if anyone has ever said that your eyes are like a star falling into the starry sky, dazzling. Seeing that Wood was a little lonely at the mention of his mother, Mrs. complimented. Sure enough, when Wood heard Madame's compliment, he immediately smiled and looked at Madame with a smile.
"Ma'am, may I call you that?" Wood didn't know who the other was, but he liked the word Madame very much, and felt that calling him that it would bring them closer.
"Of course, I like it when you call me that, who gave you the name Wood?" asked the lady, putting her arm around Wood's shoulders as she walked. Everything around Wood had never seen before, and it was snowy everywhere, but strangely enough, Wood didn't feel cold.
"I was originally given the name by an old couple who adopted me, but when I grew up, I thought the name Wood was good, so I changed the name to Wood. Wood said with a smile, thinking of the old couple who adopted him, and Wood felt very warm in his heart. If it weren't for them at that time, I am afraid that I would have died a long time ago.
"And your parents?" Madame felt that the topic seemed to be sensitive to Wood, so she did not ask directly, but kept watching Wood's reaction.
"My parents, I don't know who they are, I suddenly feel that I hate them a little, I know it shouldn't be, but I ......" Wood felt that he didn't know how to accurately express his feelings at this time, for the parents who gave birth to him but abandoned him, Wood had hatred and resentment in his heart, and at the same time puzzled and confused. But when these problems come together, they become a trace of hatred.
"I think they certainly didn't do it on purpose, they must have had to do it at the time, and you should believe them. Madame gently persuaded Wood. Years of thinking are not something that can be solved in a sentence or two, this takes time, yes, Wood still needs some time.
"Hopefully, because I can't accept any other reason. Wood said sadly, knowing that it might not be good, but it was the truest feeling in his heart. Sometimes, the hurt from a loved one is the most painful memory in the world.
"I understand, I can totally understand your feelings, it doesn't matter, no matter what you think I don't think it's wrong, really. Madame said with relief that she understood Wood's feelings at this time.
