Chapter 20: Schrödinger's Cat

The next day, Man Jianghong got up early in the morning, washed up first, went out to eat breakfast, found a printing shop that had just opened, and printed out the article.

He was shocked by what he saw.

It occupies a huge area, the scenery near the mountains and the sea is beautiful, it is located in the remote but the transportation is convenient, and the highway three kilometers away has a special auxiliary road until the front of the courtyard.

Most of the buildings in the courtyard are only two or three floors, antique, scattered among the flowers and forests, like a paradise. The center's main building has four floors, and the glass curtain wall glistens in the sunlight, like a delicate gem that exudes brilliance and a modern feel. However, on the main building nearly 20 meters high, there are two metal flagpoles that are 12 or 3 meters high with the thickness of a sea bowl, and there are two flags hanging on the poles, one is the Chinese national flag, and the other is the embroidered dragon and the sea of clouds, which must be the courtyard flag, which is fiercely displayed in the wind.

Man Jianghong stared at the two flagpoles and pondered, always feeling like two long whiskers on the head of a moth. Is there such an exaggerated lightning rod in the world? I am afraid that it can seduce the thunder even if it does not rain, and it is not coordinated no matter how you look at it, revealing a strange atmosphere.

The two tall marble pillars at the entrance of the courtyard are majestic and magnificent, with a diameter of ten meters high and two meters thick, and there is no gap on the surface, which is actually carved from a whole large stone. He touched it, and the cold hand was delicate to the touch, knowing that this was not a shoddy work of pasting porcelain tiles on the cement pillar.

Not to mention the value of the stone itself, the transportation and processing costs are probably an astronomical amount!

The job status of the janitor is not high, boring and boring, and many people, despite their superficial might, cannot hide their tiredness, like robots on wooden stakes. But the two handsome and upright guards in front of them were obviously high-ranking samurai, both in their early twenties, but their eyes were like burning flames, full of life and agility.

After filling out the visit form, Man Jianghong accidentally knocked down the ID card, bent down and was about to pick it up, only to see that the document had not yet landed, one doorman lifted the document on his toes and flew straight up, and the other doorman who was looking outside did not look back at all, and grabbed the thin card with two fingers as soon as he raised his hand.

What's going on? A high-ranking samurai is the number one person in the reclamation area, and he actually succumbs to the doorman here?

Looking into the courtyard, I saw a person walking on the boulevard, also in his early twenties, wearing a silver-gray straight security uniform, with sword eyebrows and starry eyes.

Watching it carefully, Man Jianghong's head "boomed", and the whole person was stunned.

I saw that the person was surrounded by mist, and his momentum was like an out-of-body sword, and he was a palace!

Is it still a place for such a young temple to live? The palace is a security guard, what kind of place is this?

The temple came to the door, and the two guards quickly stood upright. Seeing Man Jianghong staring at him blankly, he frowned unhappily and asked indifferently, "What are you doing?"

"I'm looking for Ryugo. Man Jianghong came to his senses and muttered.

The two guards were startled, and a trace of surprise flashed on the palace's face, and they didn't ask anything anymore, and took out Jiang Hong's resume from a stack of manuscripts and hurried away.

After a while, a man came, about thirty years old.

The hall is a palace again! The momentum is restrained, not as sharp as the one who is just now, but it is even more vigorous.

The two guards stood up solemnly, and the man raised his resume in his hand and said, "You were arranged by Hua Rong, come with me." ”

Man Jianghong replied vaguely, and said in his heart that the black-shirted guest yesterday was originally called Hua Rong, and the one in front of him was only afraid that it was Long Wu. Sure enough, things gather like people in groups, beggars' friends are beggars, and friends in the temple are palaces. The surname Long is indeed rare, and it is even more common to be named after numbers, is he ranked fifth in a large number of brothers?

"If you were a martial artist, I would have arranged it, and the samurai would have to do chores for those scientists. The people who do the research are old-fashioned, and I can't help if they don't agree with them. "Long Wubian walked the sidewalk.

Well, Man Jianghong shook his head with a wry smile, feeling that this place was high-end and high-grade, and the hope of applying for the gangsters in the reclamation area was really not great.

But things in the world are often unpredictable, after entering the main building, the interviewer Zhang Lao saw his paper that he stayed up all night to rush out, and was immediately shocked, and he didn't even look at his diploma resume.

Man Jianghong was not confident for a while.

Master, am I so powerful? Or is that black-shirted man Hua Rong already bought off the people up and down here?

The article is called "The Root of Everything - Consciousness, Thinking and the Analysis of Dreams", which is his perception and summary of the spiritual world after reading a lot of books on the Internet over the years. Modern science has developed finely, and the exploration of the spirit has been subsumed into brain science, and psychology has gradually fallen behind. Therefore, his articles are still on conjecture, and the materials used do not surpass those mastered by Freud, Jung, Fromm and other previous masters.

This article mainly analyzes the conscious and subconscious, material and spiritual, but also touches on religion, genetics, physics, etc., and creates a new vocabulary - imprint.

But he didn't put everything he imagined into the text, for example, speculating that there might be a physical space in the spiritual world, similar to the Taoist saying of the sea of knowledge, because it was too shocking to clarify it.

The full text is as follows:

The root of everything

- Consciousness, Thinking, and Dream Interpretation

In psychology, consciousness is defined as "a high-level psychological reflection of objective reality unique to man", which is a composite of feeling, perception and thinking, and is a person who thinks and is aware of his own existence. If consciousness is compared to the earth, then memory is seawater, thoughts are icebergs, ideas are islands and reefs, thoughts are land, and emotions are storms, rains and snow.

Consciousness is also the product of the processing of information by the mind, which can be divided into two parts: consciousness and image bank.

Realisation means that we are aware of ourselves, and it is an experience and awareness of our own activities, our present, past, and future. Therefore, the ancients proposed "I think, therefore I am", and today's people propose "live in the present"!

The image bank stores all the experiences accumulated in life, including all our memories, including all the stimuli and life experiences we have received since the fetus, including all the feelings, desires, emotions, thoughts, thoughts, imaginations, dreams, and even those stimuli that we cannot feel or are ignored, such as the effects of radio waves, sound waves, magnetic fields, gravitational fields on the human body, weak electrochemical signals sent by organs when they first start to lesion, etc.

The human brain has more than 14 billion brain cells, which are connected by synapses to form a vast and complex neural network. The stimuli we receive are converted into electrochemical signals that travel along connected neural network channels in the brain, and consciousness is generated. The next time the signal passes through these channels, the past consciousness will be represented, which is memory, and the process of consciousness reproduction is thinking.

Life is a one-way journey of experience, and memories are generated from experience. The image bank stores all the memories that we have accumulated throughout our lives, which I call "imprints", that is, traces of events, feelings, etc., imprinted in the mind. Deep, vivid imprints are easy to recall, while shallow, abstract imprints are not easy to reproduce. For example, major events are always memorable, and it is much better to use homophony, association, etc. when memorizing a long list of boring numbers.

Our behavior is governed by our thinking, which organizes information from the past and gradually forms a fixed pattern, a process called learning. However, not all behaviors need to be learned, and all judgments are made through the cerebral cortex, such as instinctive and unconditioned reflexes. Instinct is the innate fixed behavior pattern and protection mechanism unique to the species, such as birds building nests, bees making honey, and hands that immediately retract when they touch fire. But what distinguishes humans from animals is that we are rational and can think. When we receive a stimulus, we will extract the images from the image library for judgment and comparative analysis, and determine the next action. For example, if you catch a slippery object in the grass, even if you've never seen a snake, the image library will send back a red flag and let go. Another example is that drivers will pay attention to traffic lights and intersection signs when driving, and adjust their driving according to these conditions.

In short, everything you experience and feel now will be instantly entered into the image library and become the latest information stored.

Objective reality is projected on the mind, and consciousness is formed through the nerves and brain systems. As soon as any system is upset, stresses are created in an attempt to restore stability. The stress does not disappear until a new equilibrium emerges. There is no such thing as absolute equilibrium, everything will be in equilibrium in motion. Once human beings consciously participate in activities in the external world, desires, stimuli, thoughts, actions, or emotional fluctuations such as depression, anxiety, excitement, joy, etc., from inside and outside the body, will cause physical and mental imbalance and produce "stress". This "stress" I call the internal force, that is, the "stress" that acts on the inside of the mind. This stress pushes us to explore, change the world, and better connect with others, but on the other hand, it can be said that all mental illnesses are caused by internal conflicts.

Although the imprints in the image library are stacked layer by layer, they cannot always remain static and orderly. Under the action of internal force, they keep tumbling up and down, like a pot of boiling porridge. The freshly branded imprint is on the very surface of the image library, but is overwritten by a newer imprint a moment later. The internal forces connected to the latest imprints are temporarily in the dominant position, and the power is the strongest. It is precisely because of this that people are able to deal with the current situation in real time, to connect with the world, and not to feel the scene of yesterday in their minds because today's situation has changed rapidly, which can lead to mental and behavioral confusion.

But some thoughts are so stubborn (the reason for stubbornness is also caused by internal forces) that they are not willing to settle down and will come out in every possible way. At the same time, if the stress generated by these thoughts is strong enough to a certain extent, it will interfere with normal thinking, affect people's judgment and action on the current situation, and even affect people's physiological state. For example, "paranoia" and "auditory hallucinations" may occur in the course of cultivating some cults. Because in these so-called "cultivations", some thoughts are constantly repeated and strengthened, self-consciousness is constantly weakened, and consciousness is destroyed, resulting in their thinking and actions being completely different from those of normal people. When the condition is severe, the practitioner will confuse illusion and reality, leading to psychopathy.

Occasionally, this is the case in normal people. If a certain idea is always entrenched on the surface of consciousness, then it will interfere with the correct judgment of internal and external stimuli and affect life. For example, scientists may neglect the holes in the earth because they think about heavenly problems; couples in love will lose their souls after not seeing each other for a day, as in the third autumn; people who suspect that their neighbors have stolen axes will think that their neighbors are like thieves in everything they do; and extreme examples, such as some evil instructors, who are obviously sick but firmly believe that fairies possess their bodies and refuse to be healed.

Conscious weakening or suspension, normal people will often appear, usually for a very short time. This is the case with "mind wandering". A person wanders in the middle of a conversation, and for that moment his mind pauses or shifts to other aspects, turning a blind eye to the current situation, not hearing. The long-term conscious pause in the state of yoga and qigong is commonly known as "entering concentration". After meditating, non-thinking, and non-thinking, people's minds tend to be clearer and their senses are sharper. Because the meditation can calm all kinds of internal conflicts in the mind, that is, the commonly known as calming distracting thoughts, and because the outside world is no longer received after the meditation, the image library is not covered by the flood of new imprints, and people can see the depths of their hearts more clearly and see the essence of things. However, too much and too deep meditation can easily induce psychopathy, weaken the consciousness of waking state, and lead to uncontrollable behavior.

To sum up, we can say that static consciousness is the whole experience of life, while consciousness mobilizes these experiences to guide behavior, thus constituting complete consciousness. When people receive stimuli and information, they develop internal forces, which are usually suppressed by strong consciousness, but coldness also comes out and harasses normal thinking. For example, "distraction", "clerical error", "slip of the tongue", "speech barrier" and so on, it is the sudden release of latent internal forces, interrupting the normal process of thinking.

The process of releasing internal force is the process of using various images to express oneself. This image can be an event, an image, an emotion...... The more powerful the image, the more likely it is to prioritize the right imagery and the more opportunities there are to be released. The so-called "clouds of sorrow", in fact, the clouds have nothing to worry about, but they are just worried. Because there is an internal force that makes the mood bleak, even the scenery you see is bleak. The more superficial the imagery is in the library, the easier it is to be selected. For example, in the case of a deep dream, the latest stimuli are often programmed into the dream in order not to be woken up. Splashing cold water on the dreamer's feet often makes him dream of walking barefoot in the ice and snow, and the ringtone often makes the dreamer dream of a phone call or an alarm clock.

If the internal force is not released in time, it will gather more and more, and the more it gathers, the stronger it will become. When it is strong enough to interfere with realization, one cannot remain awake. Therefore, "lust" can dispel longing, "daydreaming" can ease emotions, "crying" can alleviate sadness, "travel" can relax anxiety, and internal forces are released in the process. Some people with psychological trauma seem to have forgotten their pain, but internal forces are always latent and can quietly cause psychophysical diseases. Once they recall and speak in a hypnotic state, the symptoms begin to lessen. An important principle in the spread of rumors is to meet the psychological expectations of the communicator. The process of propagation is also the process of the release of internal force, so it is said that "the mouth of the people is more important than the defense of Sichuan." "In addition to telling, movement and action are also one of the main ways to release internal forces. Men often drink to drown their sorrows when they are in a bad mood, and women go on a shopping spree. In view of this, some large companies have even set up "decompression chambers", where statues of executives are erected for employees to kick and beat to vent their grievances.

Dreaming is an important way to release internal forces. In the experiment, depriving people of REM sleep (dreaming time) can have a variety of harmful effects, such as anxiety, irritability, and lack of attention, and in severe cases, it can also cause people to have dyspathy, memory impairment, paranoia, abnormality, sluggish thinking, and clumsy movements.

Various internal forces act at the same time, trying to convey as much and complex information as possible with the least amount of simplest materials, which is most typical in dreams. When dreaming, due to the conscious closure, all kinds of internal forces that fill the mind rush to emerge and compete to express themselves. The most powerful internal forces appeared first, and other internal forces also hitched a ride. Therefore, every detail of the dream can be traced back to its roots and has its own specific meaning. In the same way, every detail of a person's life (such as habits, eyes, tone, etc.) also has a specific meaning, which is closely related to his life experience and current environment. The strength of the internal force is relative, and it is always in a dynamic change, so the logic of the dream is poor, the jump is large, and the scene changes quickly; at the same time, due to the limitation of the carrier (image), it is difficult for the dream to have too complex details and too abstract speculation.

Dream is a state that appears on the surface of the image under the action of internal forces after consciously closing it. When we dream, the main functioning nerves above the vertebrae in the back of our head are restricted, and the muscles are in a state of relaxation. This will protect us from getting hurt by wandering around in our dreams. The vast majority of dreams occur during REM sleep, when nerve cells in the brain produce exactly the same signals as when awake, and the waveforms formed on the EEG are the same. Dreams are vivid, as if we were there, but why do we remember our experiences in the real world, while dreams are always forgotten in a hurry? Because real experiences produce images and imprints, and dreams are nothing more than a combination of imprints in the process of releasing internal forces. For example, experience is like a window flower printed on window paper, although it will fade with the passage of time, it will not disappear and will always be there, and a dream is like a projection of a window flower on the ground, and the environment will disappear without a trace, and it cannot be traced. Dreaming is also like a static reaction, the image is like a yin and yang charge, and the internal force conflict is like an electric charge annihilation, and the dream is the faint and gorgeous spark of electrostatic. So if you don't revisit the memory (form an imprint) immediately after waking up from a dream, it will be forgotten at an alarming rate.

Freud called sexuality the root of dreams and divided consciousness into many levels. Now that we know that warm-blooded animals also dream, it is obviously difficult to determine that the tiger is experiencing a conflict between the ego and the superego in the dream, and releasing its love-mother complex. I think the reason why dreams are very sexually strong is because sexuality is the greatest instinct of human beings, and it is a very important part of internal force, which causes many of our inner conflicts and emotional fluctuations. The root cause of dreams should be the imbalance of internal forces, so Gu Yun: gods and men are ruthless, and saints have no dreams.

Jung proposes that we have layers of primitive imagery - memories from ancient ancestors. I don't think it's possible for an image bank to preserve ancestral experiences, all imprints are acquired, and the accumulated experiences of ancestors can only genetically transmit some mechanisms of response that favor survival. For example, monkeys who grew up in zoos are not afraid of snakes and will even cross them to fetch fruit from the table. But one day, when the researchers showed the monkeys fearing snakes on video, they turned away. However, showing a video of monkeys fearing flowers does not make them afraid of flowers from now on. This suggests that the outside world has stimulated a mechanism of danger avoidance that has been passed down from generation to generation, rather than simply saying that the memories of ancestors are awakened.

In some dreams, you can see yourself more clearly and see things as they are, and the most wonderful thing is to "foresee dreams". The reason for the dream of foreseeing the disease is very simple, because the stimulus released by the affected part is weak at first, and the internal force formed is also covered by the strong consciousness of waking and cannot appear, so it can only look for opportunities to appear in the dream. For example, about a month before the onset of digestive disorders, jaundice patients often have dreams related to drinking and eating. If a person continues to have similar dreams, then it is certain that there is a continuous source of internal force acting on him, it may be a past that cannot be let go, it may be some kind of stress or emotion that cannot be eliminated, or a certain part of the body is quietly changing and deteriorating...... In recent years, some foreign institutions have begun to train people to "incubate dreams", which can guide dreams after falling asleep, avoid nightmares and regulate mental balance.

So, is there a real, concrete, and detailed dream of foreseeing the future?

In classical physics, if all the initial conditions are mastered, the future can be calculated. But quantum mechanics believes that the root of everything is probability, that God is rolling the dice, and that the future is uncertain. In the famous "Schrödinger's Cat" quantum ideal experiment, the poor kitten is in a state of neither dead nor alive, and only when the container is opened, the cat's state vector collapses, and "dead" or "alive" can be finally chosen.

We can't accept that a cat is either dead or alive, and we can't know the secrets inside the container before the lid is opened.

Foreseeing dreams is Schrödinger's cat.
