Chapter 226: The Elven King 7
"Are you talking?" Wood thought it was Pekney talking at first, but when he saw Pekney shake her head at him in surprise, Wood couldn't help but look at the snake again.
"Yes, I was talking, I saw them yesterday, and the boy seemed to be injured, and the girl was holding him. The snake spoke again, this time, Wood watched it speak.
Although the snake could not speak, the voice came from the snake's mouth, and Wood could read the other person's eyes. The serpent's indifferent eyes told Wood that what it said was true.
"Did you hear that?" Wood asked, looking back in surprise, Wood still couldn't believe that a snake could speak.
"No, what's the sound around?" said Perkney, who really didn't hear a sound. Thinking that Wood was more sensitive than her own hearing, she didn't hear what she had just heard, so Pekney craned her neck and listened carefully.
Believing that Pekney really hadn't heard anything, Wood turned to the snake again.
"Yes, she can't hear me except you. Listen to me, it's not safe here, you have to get out of here with your friends, or you're in big trouble. The snake spoke, the letter in its mouth constantly probing the air around it, as if it could sense danger in it.
"No, we haven't found our friends, we're not leaving, please make way for us so we can move on. Wood said suddenly, and his words startled Perkney, who was standing behind him.
"Wood, who are you talking to?" Pekney looked ahead, and there was no one but the snake.
"I'm talking to it, and it understands me, and just now, it told me that it saw Wells and Suri yesterday. Wood didn't tell Peckney that the snake not only said that, but also said Wells was injured.
They didn't know about Wells yet, so Wood thought it would be better not to tell Pekney until he saw it with his own eyes.
"That snake can speak, what else does it say?" Pekney looked in amazement at the snake entrenched in front of them, it looked so large that it was as thick as the mouth of a bowl. Her eyes seemed to glow with cold, and when she looked at her, she felt a chill all over her body.
"It also says that there is danger ahead, so we had better get out of here. Wood said.
"No, we wouldn't have left without Wells and Suri. Please make way for us, we appreciate your kindness, but these two people are very important to us, and we will not abandon them even if they are in danger. Since the snake was able to speak, Pekney simply spoke her mind.
Pekney couldn't hear the snake, but she must have been able to hear herself.
The snake glanced at Wood, and saw that Wood was also resolute, and couldn't help but say, "You brought this on yourself, don't blame me for not reminding you." With that, the snake burrowed into the bushes beside him and disappeared.
"Is it waiting for us here specifically to stop us?" asked Pekney as she saw the snake leave.
"I think so. Wood stared blankly in the direction of the snake, wondering why he could hear it, but Pekney couldn't.
The two of them continued to walk forward without fear of danger, and the silence in the woods, coupled with the words of the big snake just now, made the air around them become strange. Pekney glanced at Wood with some concern, and Wood just looked up to meet Pekney's. The two men were relatively silent, and then both laughed.
Under the guidance of the little one, they walked out of the mountain and then walked down the mountain.
"Look, Wood, what's there?" Suddenly, Peckney saw what looked like a cemetery at the foot of the mountain, and on a large tree beside the cemetery, there seemed to be two things hanging from it. Because of the distance, Peckney couldn't see it very clearly.
Wood followed Pekney's guidance and looked over, only to feel shocked in his heart, who was it not Wells and Suri.
"It's Wells, let's hurry over. Wood said nervously, because he was so nervous, that his voice was trilling. Hearing Wood say it was Wells and Suri, Peckney felt a chill in her head and feet, and ran quickly down the hill with Wood.
Wood almost rolled down the hill, and Pekney followed closely behind Wood, looking very bad.
As they got closer and closer to the tree, Perkney's face turned even paler, for she could already see Wells' already pale face. And Su Rui, the two of them didn't seem to have any breath anymore.
Wood took the dagger from Pekney's hand and flew towards the ropes in the tree, both of which fell in response. Just as Wells and Suri fell, Wood silently recited the mantra, causing the two of their bodies to levitate in mid-air.
By the time he laid them flat on the ground, Wood found that they were no longer breathing. They didn't seem to be breathing for some time, and Wood had just touched the bodies of both of them, and it felt like their bodies were starting to stiffen.
"What the hell is going on? Even if they were in any danger, Wells couldn't have died so easily. Seeing Wells lying stiffly on the ground, Pekney held back tears and thought about possibilities.
Pekney couldn't accept that Wells was leaving her like this, and she couldn't believe that in Pekney's eyes, Wells was a big mountain, how could a big mountain collapse.
Looking at Wells and Su Rui's bloodless faces, there were no wounds on their bodies, so Wood felt that the two of them were in a strange state. Wood looked at his surroundings, and it was as quiet as death. It's similar to the atmosphere in the woods, but not quite.
Wood thinks Wells and Suri may not have actually died, they just don't seem to have any vital signs. If you want them to be resurrected, you have to figure out what happened to both of them before.
It looks like a cemetery, and it's a very new cemetery. There had been no humans or elves in this place for more than a hundred years, only those beasts, and Wood didn't think that the beasts would behave like this, and when their companions died, they would make a cemetery to commemorate them.
