Chapter 55: Warning

Wood went to look at the book again, and it was already the same as it was. It was as if nothing had happened, but Wood knew that it was real, but he didn't understand where the sound came from.

At night, while Wood was sleeping, the voice rang out again. In a daze, Wood heard the voice, then got up and followed the sound to find the book.

Wood opened the book, and the picture on it was gone, replaced by a portrait of a person. At night, seeing such a scene, Wood was frightened and suddenly sobered up a lot. Wood rubbed his eyes, thinking that he was still in a dream, but when he realized that it was really a person's head, and that the avatar was still calling his name, Wood only felt that the back of his spine was numb.

"Who are you, did you tell me to get me out of here today?" Wood whispered out of the dormitory, standing in a place where no one could hear or see.

"Get out of here, it's a huge conspiracy, listen to me get out of here, get out of here before you get caught up in this conspiracy. The farther you go, the better, and once you're gone, you'll never come back. Remember, when you get out of here, you have to get out of here. The avatar spoke like a gust of wind and vanished, leaving Wood alone in a daze.

Wood didn't know who the avatar was in the books, but he didn't look like a bad guy. He didn't get Wood a chance to speak, and before Wood could ask him why he was leaving, he disappeared on his own.

"Why did you come here to read a book when you didn't sleep in the middle of the night?" Wood was still immersed in what had just happened, and suddenly Mante's voice came from behind him, and Wood's heart was about to jump out.

Mante looked at Wood blankly, wondering what was wrong with him. He heard Wood get up and go out, and wondered what Wood was doing when he went out alone so late, so he got dressed and wanted to see what was going on, but he didn't expect Wood to come out to read.

"I, I just can't sleep, I want to read but I'm worried about disturbing you, so I came out. Now I'm feeling a little sleepy, let's go, let's go back to sleep. Wood barely managed to squeeze out a smile and pulled a dazed Mante back. Fortunately, everyone else was still asleep, and Wood was lying in bed, and it was really impossible to sleep at this point.

That voice always echoed in Wood's ears, and that image lingered in Wood's mind. Wood didn't know who it was, why he knew him, or why there was a big conspiracy to get out of here.

Although Wood didn't know any of this, he knew one thing, he wouldn't leave the Bird Silent Academy. If nothing else, just for the sake of these two friends I met here, I can't leave. Wood has wanted to have many friends since he was a child, and although he has such a good friend as Bob when he was in Colt Town, Bob is much older than him after all. A lot of the time, Bob is like his older brother.

But he was different from Surie and Mante, and with them, Wood felt like he was the same as them. Many times they have the same view of things, the same attitude towards people, and even their vision for the future.

Wood didn't want to miss out on this hard-earned good friend, Su Rui was shrewd and neat, and sometimes very verbose, and she had nothing to say about Wood's goodness. Although Mante is lazy, can eat some, and sometimes is more timid, but for Wood, he still doesn't feel melancholy when it's time to make a move. With such friends, how could Wood abandon them because of a voice that came from nowhere?

Finally Wood fell asleep just before dawn, and the next morning, it was Mante who woke Wood. After a sleep, Wood felt that the avatar and the voice were finally no longer in his mind.

At breakfast, Wood deliberately found a place with few people, Wood was not in the mood to eat today, he felt that he had to tell Suri and Mante about yesterday's events.

"That book, the same one Principal Brooke gave me yesterday, has a problem. Wood whispered mysteriously, his voice very low, lest someone hear what he said.

"What's wrong with that book, what's wrong?" asked Suri, and Wood looked nervous, which made Suri nervous as well.

"Yesterday, I heard that book talking. Wood didn't know how to explain what he had been through yesterday, and he was worried that Suri and Mante would think they were hallucinating.

"Why didn't we hear the book?" Mante's first reaction wasn't why Wood heard the book speak, or why the book spoke. He was most concerned about why he hadn't heard the book speak, and how uplifting it would be if he let everyone know that he had heard a book or that he had seen a book that could speak.

"Are you sure you heard me right?, when did you hear that book?" asked Suri, anything can happen in the wizarding world, and although Suri hadn't seen a talking book, she didn't find it too bizarre when she heard Wood say that.

"The first time I heard it was when you two were arguing, in the borrowing room. You remember when I asked you if you heard anything, and both of you said you didn't. I thought maybe I had misheard it or was hallucinating. But just last night, I was asleep, and in my sleep I heard someone calling my name. That voice was the same one I heard when I was in the borrowing room, so I took the book outside so that the rest of the dorm wouldn't find out. Wood said as low as he could, saying that the feeling was more likely to make people fearful.

"Yes, I can testify. Mante suddenly said, he usually has a loud voice, he forgot that this is Wood's secret, and as soon as he said it, he immediately attracted the attention of many classmates. Most of the meals in the restaurant were very quiet, and Mante's voice was undoubtedly a bolt from the blue when it was in the situation.

"You make a small voice, are you still worried that others will not be able to hear?" Su Rui was very dissatisfied with Mante's behavior, he didn't win the quarrel yesterday, and it was too late to make up for it today.
