Chapter 7 Where I Come From 6
Wood stopped his hurried steps, turned around, picked up the shoe that didn't fit his feet at all, and handed it to the elf: "I think you may not have understood what I mean, I mean that I don't go to school at the Bird Silent Academy, I have other important things to do now, can you not follow me." Wood said helplessly, he couldn't bear to say anything serious to them, but they always followed him like this, and Wood couldn't do anything.
"Oh, you see, Wood is so loving, he actually helped me get my shoes back, thank you so much, Wood. The skinny elf was grateful to Wood for helping him retrieve his beloved shoes, but turned a deaf ear to Wood's words.
"Please don't follow me anymore, you just follow me for a day, and I won't change my mind. If you don't want to be discovered, while everyone is still asleep at this time, you might as well hurry back to where you should go. Wood pleaded that he was about to get to the train station, and that he would not be willing to do so if he was always followed by a dozen elves, even if they would not be discovered. Because he doesn't want these innocent-looking little ones to know how they get their financial resources.
"If I'm not mistaken, you just said that you don't know where you come from, you don't know who you are. Right?" asked Pip suddenly.
"Yes, I was an orphan since I was a child, I don't know who my parents were, and now I live alone. If I want to continue to live, I have to rely on my own efforts to fight for it, so your academy should not be suitable for people like me. Wood said that now the bird is silent in his eyes, not to mention the impression is very bad, but looking at their admissions model, it has already made Wood think about what kind of college it will be.
If the Bird Whispering Academy had been a little better, they wouldn't have been so eager to go to school with them themselves. It has to be said that although Wood is only ten years old, his thinking is clear and will not be affected by his momentary enthusiasm. It's just that the reason why the elves are so enthusiastic about him is that there is another reason why he is about to become the 9999th student of the Bird Silent Academy. You know, elves are a very proud species, and once they decide on something, they will never easily change and give up.
"Then do you want to know your identity, where do you come from? All your secrets will be answered in the Bird Silent Academy. If you look at us, it's going to be a very interesting and challenging college. There, you can still change your current life situation through your own efforts. "Pip is the oldest of the elves, and his words are very meaningful.
Sure enough, hearing Pip's words, Wood hesitated, although these elves were a little noisy, but I have to say that they are still a plus. If an academy can have such a housekeeper to take care of its own students, it doesn't seem to be too bad. Wood had never seen elves before, and he had only occasionally learned about them in books.
"I'd better think again. Wood hesitated to the end, and after saying this, he turned and walked away. This time, Pip didn't ask everyone to follow Wood along, thinking that Wood might need some time to think about it. But they didn't leave Colt Town, and they wouldn't leave until they had completed the task Brooke had given them.
Wood walked into the train station, but Wood wasn't in the mood to do anything else today, and his mind was full of what Pip had just said. Wood is now ten years old, but he doesn't know where he came from or what his parents were. In the past, it could be said that he was young, and if he didn't know, he wouldn't have too many feelings, but now that he has grown up, he is very eager to know his life experience. He wanted to know what kind of reason his parents had abandoned him at that time, and they were still in a very cold place, wouldn't they be afraid that they would freeze to death?
Wood was sitting in the rest area of the train station, when suddenly, an elegant lady came up to him: "May I sit here?"
Wood looked up and found that it was the lady who had given him a lot of money, and Wood was a little overwhelmed by the embarrassing scene yesterday. The lady looked at the cramped Wood, smiled, and sat down beside Wood.
"Let me guess how old you are, ten, right?" asked the lady.
Wood never dared to look his wife in the eye, but nodded silently with his head down.
"Oh, I guessed right, why are you sitting here alone on such a cold day, and your parents?" continued the lady, who seemed to want to have a long conversation with Wood to-day.
"I haven't seen them since I was a kid, I don't know what they look like, I don't know what kind of people they are. Wood sighed and said, at such a young age, it is difficult not to feel love and pity for him.
"I'm sorry. Although Madame guessed some of Wood's current situation, she did not expect that he would be an orphan without a father or mother.
"It's okay, I'm used to it. Wood said indifferently, although he wanted to know who he was, but he no longer had the same sadness about being an orphan.
"You're ten years old, you're already a little man, have you ever thought about going to school?" asked Madame again.
"I thought about it, but I can't afford to go to school yet, so I'm really sorry that day. I didn't know I'd meet you here today, and if I did, I thought I'd give that note back to you. Wood said with a sigh of relief, for the first time he felt that he really couldn't go on like this, and that he had to find a decent way to support himself.
"Needless to say, I'm sorry, but I should have thanked you, I'm a person who often loses things, and I never have a long memory. So, last time you made me realize how much trouble I could get into with this bad liking of mine, and it was you who made me feel like it was time for me to break this bad habit of mine. You know what, I haven't lost anything since I last met you, and I should thank you for that. The lady said very calmly, her eyes had been fixed on Wood, and she felt that Wood might need some more courage for herself.
