Chapter Seventy-Two: The Sorcererer

Ciri, who is the protagonist of the whole event, is unaware of the sensation caused by the Numer Profiler at first, but it is Kayla who tells him about it.

Ciri's fiancée, Kayla, also has a [Numerical Profiler Type II], but her Profiler is naturally different from the normal replicas on the outside. Kayla's Nut Profiler has been specially modified by Ciri, who has incorporated communication into this specialty.

All the spaces that have been discovered in the Colin Plane have a magical network of spiritual connections, and this giant spiritual network that invisibly envelops the entire Colin Plane is called the Magic Web. The magic web has nothing to do with magic, it is just a spiritual web that represents the wizarding world. (The magic net in this book is different from the magic net of the previous DND system Torrell world, and the magic net here does not have any magic circulation, but the name is the same)

How the magic web came about, no one knows, and after so many years of human research, no answer to this question has been found. However, such a long period of experimental research has not been without results.

Research on the magic net shows that there was no magic net before the fall of the goblins, and the magic net seems to have appeared in the entire Colin plane overnight with the fall of the goblins. Its origins, like the cause of the goblin's extinction, have always been an unsolved mystery.

However, the lack of knowledge about its origin does not prevent human research and use of it. On the basis of countless generations of research and experiments by sages, a spell that can be released without the need for magic power and only by magic nets has appeared, and that is the [Ace Communication Technique] that people now use to communicate with each other. Ace, the inventor of this new type of spell, later established a series of strange spells that used magic nets and relied on spiritual power, and disclosed the research basis of these spells, and established a new spell system --- spiritual spells. Ace himself has also relied on his great contributions and achievements to become a famous "prophet" (the super title of the academic mage, corresponding to the legendary title of the combat mage. As for what is called a detachment, I won't spoil it), and established a high-level magic academy--- Ace's Soul.

A mage who uses Ace's spirit spells is not called a spirit mage, but rather a trickster. Because the spirit spell is not very similar to normal spells in terms of principle and effect, it is more similar to the witchcraft of the orcs in some ways. And many of the effects of spiritual spells are very weird and terrifying, like what kind of charm spell, sleep spell, bewilderment spell, chaos spell, fear spell, mind control spell, soul control spell effect is very terrifying, not to mention another large branch of this spell --- curse spell, even more weird and inexplicable, so other mages do not recognize their identity as magicians, but call them tricksters.

(I've always felt that psychic mages are obviously not algorithmic masters, and spells such as charm, fear, and mind control don't match the entire magic system, so I'll classify them separately here, as for why the curse is also included, it has something to do with the true identity of the magic net, anyway, I've figured out how to fill in the pit.) Of course, just because people aren't algorithmic doesn't mean that I discriminate against them, on the contrary, I think they are generally better. There is a reasonable explanation for the whole trickster system, but I won't say much about the plot later).

Although tricksters are rejected by regular magicians, because of their combat effectiveness and terrifying spells that are higher than ordinary magicians, their status is equal to that of mages of various departments, and although many people do not recognize their mage status, they have always been regarded as mages.

It's just that tricksters are a profession that everyone hates, not only because of their powerful and weird spell effects, but also because powerful magicians have a high chance of producing a soul image similar to a summoning space-time image when they die.

The soul image has no substance, but it can use the spiritual spells of the deceased before his death, has some memories of the deceased, and his personality will become evil, and he is naturally aggressive towards the living. Due to its peculiarity, the soul image is extremely difficult to kill, and will continue to grow and deform over time, and eventually become a terrifying spiritual monster.

Each spirit monster is a great threat to the creatures of the Colin plane, and it takes a lot of lives to fill it in. Although the Ace Soul Academy has also developed powerful spells specifically for soul images, due to the flexibility and strong survivability of soul images, every time the soul monsters are encircled and suppressed, they will still be seriously damaged.

Ace's Soul Academy actually encourages tricksters to dissipate their souls and embrace death when they sense death is near, and Ace Prophet discovered the problem of soul reflection a long time ago, and he himself chose to die in this way. But not every trickster has this kind of courage, many people have a fluke mentality, plus some magicians who die in vain because of battles or other natural and man-made disasters, resulting in many people still dying and injured every year because of soul reflections.

For this reason, the Sorcerer is persona non grata in the eyes of both ordinary people and mages (you can bring in the image of a necromancer from other wizarding worlds. In fact, the magicians themselves here are half-necromancers, because they can manipulate the souls of the dead, and powerful magicians can also control soul monsters to fight if they are not afraid of backlash. The necromancer of the magic department is generally called the death mage in this world, and can only manipulate corpses but does not have the ability to manipulate souls, and its essence is close to that of alchemy golem mages. Death mages also absolutely disdain to manipulate human corpses with weak congenital qualities, so they are not as terrifying as tricksters except that they feel disgusting, and death mages can generally be half doctors because of their research direction).

Due to various reasons, the learning conditions are simple, and the [Ace Communication Technique], which everyone can't live without, is directly classified into general spells, not in the entry of spiritual spells.

[Ace Communication] is a simple spell that every professional who has energy (spiritual power has also undergone a qualitative change in the advancement of energy generation in the body, so this refers to a simple spell that has a qualitative change in spiritual power, and spiritual spells have nothing to do with magical energy), as long as the user knows the other party's spiritual imprint, he can contact the other party through the ubiquitous magic web, which is very convenient. It should be noted that the farther away this connection is, the more mental energy is consumed, but the distance here at least refers to the distance between cities.

Ordinary people can also use the [Ace Communication] to communicate through magic items (using magic power to convert into mental power through a special rune circle), and the communication technique is now one of the most indispensable spells in the Colin plane.

This function has been added to the [Numerical Profiler Type II] specially made by Ciri for Keira, so that the user's mental power consumption can be reduced, and there is no need to memorize the spiritual imprints of so many people in his head. As for why he didn't include this feature in all the numerical profilers, it was because he didn't have the authorization of Ace's Soul Academy.

Kayla's resignation process is not yet complete, she is usually very popular, and no one treats Kayla differently because she is leaving the Chamber of Commerce. Soon word spread that Kayla owned a numerical profiler among her colleagues, and many people came to her to see this magical new magic item, and praised its effects, and Kayla was rightfully the lucky one to snap up the numerical profiler (no one knew that Kayla's future husband Ciri was the mysterious inventor).

(This chapter doesn't seem to have much to do with the present, but it touches on the important content that comes later, so I touched on it in passing when I wrote about the newsletter.) However, since many things in the setting of this world are completely new, they may not be fully explained, and others will be added later, this chapter actually digs a lot of holes, but each pit will have a reasonable explanation. Besides, what's the point of a book with no holes and no brains. )
