Chapter 147: A Man Who Loves Machines
"I'm telling you, he's a nice guy, passionate and dreamy. Pen | fun | pavilion www. ο½ο½ο½ο½ο½ο½ γ Info And he's one of the few people who can't be afraid of my ghost hands, that's really rare. Maffeo praised the man who loved machines, at least in his mind, as one of the few people who could face up to his existence, which made him feel grateful, and his goodwill unintentionally welled up in his heart.
"Sounds like you like him. Freya laughed, she rarely saw Maffeo confide in a person like this, in fact, she used to think that Maffeo was a guy who didn't understand other people's thoughts. But now, she had to take a fresh look.
"That's good, really. Maffeo rowed.
"I hope so. β
So, led by Maffeo, the two followed him to the food store in the port. The dΓ©cor is very simple, and it usually sells snacks and other foods. Meals are also sold, but they aren't as tasty as most restaurants on the West Coast. But at least when it comes to dim sum, it's the best here.
"Let me see, he's usually around here. Maffeo looked around.
Finally, about a dozen meters away, under a magic street lamp, Maffeo found his target. "Hey, Blackburn!" he shouted the other man's name.
The gray-haired, brown-haired young man suddenly turned his head to look at Maffeo's side, and after a moment, he smiled. "Oh, Fry, it's good to see you. β
Maffeo greeted him, "You're still so busy, dealing with these cold things. β
"No, they have feelings, Fry. Never underestimate these machines. Blackburn didn't seem to care about Maffeo's words, and he said with interest, pointing to the parts that were all over the ground in front of him.
"That's right, you're right. Maffeo paused, then sorted out his language. "Well, I have two friends who want to see you, maybe you can help them. β
Blackburn was clearly a very enthusiastic man, and he immediately noticed Freya and Karl behind Maffeo. So he stood up and walked over to the two of them. "Hello, my name is Eugene, Eugene Blackburn. β
"Freya Steele. β
"Carl Morin. β
After introducing each other, a good friendship is in its first stage. Blackburn's enthusiasm was beyond the expectations of the two of them, and he knew no less than the Itans when it came to mechanics. The guys born in Yi Dan are all masters of machinery, and most of the offensive machinery used by the Imperial Army is basically made by the Yi Dan people. At least for Blackburn, who is a native of Arad, he is really rare.
Maffeo pulled Freya aside and whispered, "See, I'm not wrong, am I?"
"You are the best, Maffeo, thank you. Freya laughed and slammed her fist into Maffeo's chest.
"So, you're building a four-rotor flying tool, right?" Blackburn confirmed the machine they wanted to make. "Well, almost the necessary parts and lubricants, I think I can help. β
"I'm sorry for you. Karl said politely.
Blackburn pushed the goggles on his forehead, then waved his hand and said, "I'm glad I can help you, I'll get those parts together in a while." Then he turned and rummaged through the yellowed crates that belonged to him.
After this not-so-long conversation, Freya and Carl finally had time to take a look at the guy who was as young as themselves. Compared to himself, Blackburn's clothing style also seems to be inconsistent with the entire Arad continent. He wore a brown jacket with almost all of his pockets stuffed with gears and chips. The dark red jeans on his lower body were stained with a lot of dirt, which seemed to prove that he was not a very hygienic person. Although for those who are willing to fiddle with machinery, hygiene is a far thing from them.
Blackburn packed all the parts he could use into a wooden tote, then picked up a small robot and unfolded it and placed it on the ground. The robot then begins to clean up the parts scattered on the ground on its own, much to Freya's and Carl's surprise once again.
"That's it, Miss Steele, Mr. Morin. Blackburn smiled brightly.
Maffeo stepped to the front, "I want to get it done quickly and we can get back here and have a pudding, right, Blackburn?"
"Yes. Blackburn smiled and nodded.
"Then let's go. β
Blackburn is so friendly to machines that Maffeo even thinks he can't live without them. In just a few days of acquaintance, Blackburn told almost most of his story. Of course, the strangest thing about Maffeo was that whenever he talked about something very close to his parents, he would immediately stop.
He was a native of Delos and had visited many beautiful cities. Whether it was the capital of the empire, Vitalen, or the small towns and manors of the frontier regions, they were not subjected to the baptism of war, so they looked like works of art created by painters.
After a few conversations, Maffeo was able to at least confirm that his love for machines stemmed from a friend of his. Blackburn's relationship with his friends was like that of Maffeo and Marcos, except that when he was mentioned, Blackburn always said that he had gone out to fugue. As a result, Maffeo stumbles upon a friend who wants to meet the friend who led him down the path of mechanics, but unfortunately, he is not on the West Coast for the time being.
"I was born in a small town in Delos, and it was nonsense that the priests were trying to cleanse me of evil spirits. Blackburn was talking to Freya and Carl on the road.
"Looks like you don't like them. Carl lit a cigarette, and he rarely felt an interest in other people's experiences at times like this.
Blackburn shook his head and grimaced. "I respect them, but I don't believe in their gods. Any Delos would think that religion and magic are mainstream, but I don't think so. So I was often treated as a geek by my peers in town, but luckily my friends were always there for me. β
"Your friend?"
"That's right, I'm thankful that he introduced me to mechanics, which I've loved since I was a kid. Blackburn looked up at the sky.
"Isn't your friend here?" asked Freya.
Blackburn's expression became a little regretful, "He said he wanted to see the world, otherwise he would become sluggish and eventually rust." He couldn't help but laugh as he spoke. "That's what he is, and his words are mechanical all the time. You'll have a chance to meet him, he's a good guy. β
"Of course, man. We've got to look to the future, don't we?" Maffeo stepped forward and grabbed Blackburn's neck, he wanted to be his friend.
"I'm glad you said that, Fry. β
