"Boss," a voice with an out-of-town accent sounded at the top of the staircase.
Su Ke turned his head to see that it was one of the five mercenary-looking people who stayed in yesterday, and it was also the one that made him feel the most impressive-
- A young man with a hardwood longbow on his back, a broad-bodied short sword stuck under his left rib, pale blonde hair spread over his shoulders, and a tough and heroic man between his eyebrows.
The tavernkeeper's Suke was wiping a table at this point. Alleyne looked at each other and thought. It seems that he has done his first business of the day.
After seeing the familiar figure, the tavern owner smiled and waved the rag in his hand: "Hey, are you awake?"
Wearing loose blonde hair, Alleyne walked over to the counter and sat down on a stool. "Bring me a glass of wine, a little stronger. β
Probably seeing that the other party's face was not good, Su Ke didn't say anything and poured him a glass of spirits.
The moment the clear liquid slid down his throat, Alleyne felt all the discomfort disappear and feel refreshed.
"Wow, wine is such a good thing!" said Alleyne, taking a sip of it, then putting down his glass. "Boss, where did all those caravan guards go last night?"
Suke smiled. "They're gone. β
"Let's goΒ·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· Alleyne, confused, repeated. Suddenly, his heart sank, and his instinct told him that the gang was not going to leave him alone.
Suke nodded at the young mercenary sitting across from him. "Yes, they're gone. β
"Who made you drink too much wine last night and sleep like a dead pig, they can't wake up no matter how they scream. Suke began to grumble. "You're going to run out of wine, and I'm going to get another batch in a few days. β
Eagerly grabbing Suke's shoulder, Alleyne asked, "Did they leave me anything?"
Su Ke squatted lightly, and his shoulders slipped from the other man's hands. "They've given you something, oh, these ten dinars. With a wave of his hand, he placed a yellow-brown open purse on the table.
Aren's face flushed. "Just ten dinars?" he began to question. "You're not playing tricks, they promised me fifty dinars!"
Suke sighed, "Wake up man, you were supposed to escort the caravan to Sagoth City, but they abandoned you halfway through. They have left you ten dinars, which is already considered a good thing. β
Aren's mind was in turmoil. Those unrighteous guys didn't even wait for me, just to monopolize my commission!
But what he didn't expect was that the prophecy on that parchment was actually fulfilled on his body. Is it a coincidence, or is it ......
Alleyne decided to ignore these troubles for now, and he stood up suddenly: "Sooke, please show mercy and tell me, how far have they come?"
Suke shook his head. "I walked for about four or five hours, I remember it wasn't dawn at that time!" Seeing the other party pull his leg and leave, he asked behind his back, "What are you doing?"
Without looking back, Ellen said, "Go to them, escort them to the city of Sagoth, and get back the remaining forty dinars that should have belonged to me." β
"I advise you to give up, you can't catch up with them, and Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·" Su Ke hesitated for a moment at this point, and did not continue.
Alleyne hated being halfway to talk, so he turned to him and asked, "And what?"
Su Ke said hesitantly, "With the way you are now, it's best not to leave Chanda. Recently, bandits have been rampant outside Chanda City, and many passing caravans have been robbed, not to mention a solo horse like you, how dangerous it is to go out!"
Alleyne was about to leave the tavern when he sat down again. "Then your lord doesn't care?"
Suke said with a wry smile: "Count Arassis has already organized his men to prepare to suppress the bandits, and the advance team he sent seems to have been subjected to a fierce battle, and only three of the twenty people returned alive. β
"And such a thing?" said Alleyn, who had no time to speak, hurried upstairs to pick up his package.
"What do you want to do?" Suke's worried voice rang out from behind Aren.
"Count Arassis, of course!" said Ellen ran out of the tavern without looking back.
Behind him, Su Ke's shout came again: "Hey, you haven't paid for last night's wine and accommodation!
Ellen is too lazy to care about so much, it would be nice to pay him back when the time comes.
The moment he ran out of the tavern door, the sun shone brightly on Ellene, and a morning sun was rising in the east.
"It's another day!" Alleyne muttered to himself.
Alleyne looked at everything in front of him curiously. The inhabitants came and went, but they only hurriedly threw him a puzzled and meaningful look, and they all went about their business again.
Only a few men dressed in pirate-style clothes with half-swords and axes in their hands gathered to look at him, one of them carrying a long-handled machete.
Alleyne didn't seem to be a native from the outfits of the men. They sat in a circle in the distance, as if whispering.
Alleyne thought to himself: I guess I'm a mercenary who has fallen here, just like me. It seems that there are many strangers in this place, and the residents are used to it.
Suddenly, a crisp female voice came from nearby: "Hello, new face!"
Alleyne turned his head and saw a blonde woman running towards him, he looked at the other party vigilantly, "What do you want to do?"
It was only when he said that he realized that something was wrong, what a girl could do, so he politely asked, "Is there anything wrong with you?" β
"Let me introduce myself, my name is Shaw, and all the mercenaries know me!" the girl said proudly, putting her fingers to her chest, while looking Alleyne up and down. "You don't look like you're a local, you're a mercenary, right?"
Alleyne nodded busily. His instinct told him that through this girl, he might be able to join the ranks of other bandits, so that he would not have to go to Count Arassis to get a piece of the pie.
"You want to kill the water thieves like this?" Xiao Yi looked at him and smiled contemptuously.
Alleyne looked down and couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed. He was wearing the worst rawhide coat, and the iron sword he carried in his hand was rusty.
Xiao Yi seemed to see the embarrassment of the other party, and said even more disdainfully: "I don't think you should go to Count Arassis, you can't defeat those guys at all, even if they are junior fighters." β
"Fighter, what fighter, what are you talking about?" "Alleyne, who had just arrived, was a little confused.
Shaw looked at him with a little surprise. "You don't even know? Everyone who wants to kill the water thieves must first go to Instructor Kai to get his certificate before they can have a formal registration of bandits, otherwise there will be no bounty. β
"And the bounty?" Alleyn was even more surprised, as if a large sum of money was shining golden dinar beckoning to him!
"100 dinars per team of water thieves. Xiao Yi looked at each other with disdain. "As a mercenary, you don't even know what work to do and what the requirements are, no wonder you are poor. β
Alleyne was a little angry, you must know that he is also a caravan guard, much better than those so-called bounty hunters, and he is actually under the eyes of a little girl here!
However, at the moment, Alleyne could not reveal anything. He is not familiar with life here, it is not easy to find a Kai instructor, if only the little girl in front of him could help him.
Thinking of this, Alleyne said with a smile on his face: "Ms. Shaw, you see that I don't know the way when I first came here, can you help me and take me to meet the Kai instructor you said?"
Xiao Yi first frowned, then looked at the rusty iron sword in Ellene's hand, and finally said with some reluctance: "Come with me!"
Alleyne followed the girl slowly through the long dark alley. The narrow, curvy alleys were full of filthy gullies, filled with a foul smell of feces and urine.
Along the way, all he saw were mercenaries and bounty hunters in leather shirts leaning against the bluestone walls on either side of the aisle.
These men were armed with either short iron swords, heavy bows, iron axes, steel knives, or even a six-foot bright silver spear.
When Alleyne passed by these people, they almost all looked at him coldly, which made Alleyne a little uneasy, and hurried over with his head down.
Xiao Yi smiled and comforted him: "They are afraid of you to rob them of their work, you can rest assured, it will be fine in a few days." β
"It's all rightΒ·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· What do you mean?" asked Alleyne with a forced smile.
"It's just that they beat me up, and then crying dad and calling my mother to go somewhere else. Xiao Yi said disappreciatively, as if she had seen this kind of thing too much.
Alleyne's goosebumps fell to the ground. He didn't want to be beaten up by a group of innocent guys, so he quickened his pace and fled from this dangerous place.
After he followed the girl around the alley a few times, his eyes were bright, and it seemed that this should be the square of Chanda City, and there were many people gathered around.
The hawkers shouted one after another, and the mercenaries came and went, some of whom walked happily past him with money bags sealed with fine threads in their hands. This made him envious.

Chanda: It is a wealthy large-scale river port city, it is a transportation hub connecting Middle-earth and Beihai, and has a unique geographical advantage.
It is located in the northern part of the continent of Calradia, north of the 'Balt Sacred Mountain', between the 'Polac' and 'Yu' rivers, and on the edge of the Virgian Snow Field.
This rich and free city has had many resounding titles for thousands of years, from the past to the present.
Bards once compared it to a 'dazzling pearl', while the nobles and traders of the mainland countries called it a 'free trade city', and the common people praised the city as a 'city of rangers'.
The currency in circulation on the continent of Calradia: 1 dinar (gold) = 15 dirhams (silver) = 300 fils (copper).
