Chapter 439: Bad Day
Count Damian glanced back and forth at Lobach and Golantis, who were sitting across from him, and behind them stood Evie and Dominic. The arrogant Count Damian www.biquge.info didn't think that the guys in front of him were qualified to sit here and talk to him face to face, but unfortunately he now needed them to help him find his daughter's killer.
He was disdainful, and Dominic could see it, so he replied with an indifferent expression to the demeaning glances that Count Damian would throw from time to time. "I don't want some hellish process, I want results, two ladies. Count Damian said, crossing his hands on the table.
"But you've proven to me that no one in the Damien family is missing, and no one has lost their coat of arms, so I'm afraid I can't give you an answer just yet. Lobach said cautiously.
"I don't want you to be like the captain of the guard, his investigation team sucks. I gave him a month to find the killer, and in the end he brought me the disintegration of the investigation team. If I could, I'd love to send him to the Principality prison. Count Damian gritted his teeth.
"The collapse of the investigation team was due to differences of opinion, and I think everyone knows that. Lobach retorted.
Count Damian's face sank, even though he had not given a good look to the few people all this time. "Watch your words, knight. You have to know who is sitting in front of you, you have always been a wise man, so I want you to keep your respect for me. β
Lobach bowed his head slightly in apology, "I'm sorry, Lord Count. β
"So, Miss Golantis, can you help me find the murderer of my daughter with this coat of arms found on the pretender?" Count Damian set his eyes on Golantis, of course, his request was more or less difficult, for a single coat of arms was too limited to clue.
"It's not going to be easy, Lord Earl. And the Order has assigned us another task, so I don't think we have much time to ......" Golantis apparently wanted to dismiss Count Damian's request, but the latter interrupted her impatiently. "I'm not going to hear these foolish words, Miss Golantis. I know that your Order has as many resources and intelligence networks as the Principality, so I wonder if you can use what you have to help me find the killer. β
Dominic swore he wanted to sneer or turn away with disdain, but he couldn't. In this place, he couldn't even give Golantis a single piece of advice. Ugly and filthy politics, he now felt that the place he was in was simply full of stench, a stench that made him want to vomit. This guy is even more hateful than the high priests who ignore their existence, Dominic thought, this guy will not be able to get the favor of the gods for the rest of his life, and hell is the best place for him.
Golantis was silent for a few moments, and when she spoke, Lobach noticed a slight arc in the corner of his eye. "I think we can help you, Lord Earl. After she finished speaking, not only Dominique and Evie, but even Lobach showed a look of surprise. On the one hand, because Golantis would have agreed to Count Damian's request so easily, the Order should not have been involved in this case in the first place. Lobach, on the other hand, was surprised that Golantis seemed to be calm and happy, which she could not understand.
Count Damian's eyes were instantly filled with appreciation, "I like your style, Miss Golantis. Now it seems necessary for me to say a few kind words for the Order before the Queen. β
"That couldn't be better. Golantis laughed.
"All the crows in the world are the same black, damned brutes......" Dominic muttered in a voice that only he could hear, staring at Count Damian with a hostile gaze.
Evie pulled the corner of Radonic's robe, "Calm down, Dominic......"
So the meeting that Dominic regarded as a demon ended in the sunset, and when he walked out of the town hall with Golantis and Evie, he could no longer hold back the anger in his heart and vomited all his complaints. "That bastard, what kind of great god does he think he's going to give him a hymn and throw that guy into the Inquisition? β
"Calm down, Dominic, I'm just fed up with your irascible nature. "Rarely is it so direct as it is now to express his boredom with a person.
"Tell me, then, Lord Golantis, why did you grant his request?" questioned Dominic.
Golantis cast a disdainful glance at him, "If I told you, can you guarantee that you won't have any suspicions?" β
"You know, I'm never going to promise something I'm not sure about. Dominic's voice was much quieter.
"Then I guess it's better not to tell you. Golantis quickened his pace and headed with Evie towards the church. Dominic stood still, glanced at the backs of the two men, then looked back at the town hall, and then stomped his feet angrily. "Bad day......
After reporting back to the Order, Golantis was finally able to find time to visit the people of Farowan, and his excitement had stabilized, at least for now. His eyes became even more hollow, as if he couldn't believe that the impostor had gone out of control and killed people in the street. When Golantis appeared in his sight for more than ten seconds, he slowly turned his head towards the other person's place, with an endless blank expression.
"I'm sorry, no one wants to see this happen. Golantis bowed his head and made a gesture of prayer.
"Can you tell me...... Is their end?" said the Farowan man, his voice a little dry.
Golantis opened his eyes and shook his head regretfully. "You know, the completely out-of-control pretenders must be eliminated by us. Their very existence is a mistake, a mistake from a long time ago. β
The people of Farowan turned their heads away, their faces full of grief and indignation. "If I had known this was the case, I shouldn't have participated in that experiment......"
"Have you finally figured it out?" asked Golantis.
"I need time, priest, I need time......" The Farrowan man rolled over and buried his head in the pillow, Golantis sure he heard his sobs. "I'll wait for you to think about it, Mr. Farowan. Golantis said softly.
Evie, who stood at the door and stopped to watch the whole process, sighed, to the people of Farowan, she only felt that guy was very pitiful now, a kind of pity that made people hate. She figured she would never forgive him for working with the Dark Order to use the child as a test subject to the Pretender, a crime that would have allowed him to enter the Inquisition. Now his situation is nothing short of heaven for him, but he himself doesn't seem to realize it.
"Enjoy the rest of the day, Faroe Vine ......" Evie left a sentence for the Faroe Avain and turned to leave the door.
On this day, the priest's prayer was more sacred and solemn than in most previous days, and Heinz, who sat next to Dominic, listened to the priest's prayer with a pious expression and prayed that those sins would not appear in this world again. On the bench at the far end of the church hall, Evie smiled at the clergy praying with their backs to herβthe only moment she felt good about a bad day.
