Blood Sand: Chapter 3: The Chain of Worlds (3)
XII
Phase Port East Port Bridgehead
The "tax card", or "toll booth", on the east coast of the port, has an official name that doesn't sound very formal.
It's called a bridgehead.
In the idiom of the Taoist people, on weekdays, the horses inside and outside the fortress are connected like dragons, and the carriages travel like rivers, and dozens of carriages are waiting in front of the tax card all day long, and the mountains of goods are transferred inside and outside the bridgehead to the metropolis and the wharf on both sides.
Today, the horses were concentrated at the back of the fortress, the wagons were piled up in barricades, and the artillery roared in the night wind, revealing the bright and fierce light of the broken army.
When the port was still in the hands of the Daoguo, the fortress used to have a much more imposing name: "Taiping Gate", which was close to the small port area on the north shore of the east port of the port of the phase, and completely blocked the landing area with three long walls and an urn city.
After the completion of the phase bridge, the gate was rightfully renamed "Bridgehead". It may sound like a universal name, but in fact, everyone knows that this is a proper noun for this castle in Phaseport and even in the entire Republic of Intre.
Inside this completely renovated fortress is the power-up device that drives the entire Phase Bridge, the greatest magic device in the world, which is recharged daily by a full ninety mages belonging to the Assembly of the Republic, the Free Army, and the Phaseport Concession Company, as well as a mountain of power-charged philosopher's stones that last for two months. The architect who designed the fortress converted the entire Lingang Urn Castle of the original Taiping Gate into a fortress where charging mechanisms were placed, and then built a new low fortress on the perimeter as a perimeter defense line.
It is precisely because of the existence of this castle that the East Port was not infiltrated and broken through by the army of the undead as quickly as the West Port.
The "militia" of the province originally stationed in the dockyard and port area on the north shore fought and retreated, some of them defending the city wall, and some of them retreated into the bridgehead blocking the phase bridge. The Free Army officers stationed in the fort handed over some of the less important defense areas to the Daomin - important artillery and magic weapons were all technical arms, and there was no point in handing them over to the Daomin with different combat regulations.
The fighting here is nowhere near as tragic as Westport. There were not many landing areas in the East Port, but the concentration of the defenders was three or four times that of the West Port. Zhang Shiyi did not have many people left here, but they hired a lot of shipwrights and dock workers, who endured hardships and listened to commands, and also used muskets under the command of those veterans of the Daoguo Legation. The troops left behind by Naymen Soleton were the most elite regiments in the "Seas" division, recruited from the local residents of Phase Harbor and refugees from the mainland, an innocent and honest citizen army, and a fairly good mid-level officer corps, many of whom were veterans who had fought alongside Lennie.
More importantly, in order to solve the "trouble" brought by the Seventh Fleet a few days ago, the two teams have communicated and cooperated privately several times. The Seventh Fleet looted the young blonde women on the entire route, and these girls were placed in the East Port of the Phase by Naimon, and the Legation of the Dao Kingdom and the garrison of the East Port were all shared. Several directors of the Daoguo Legation did not dare to let these girls mix with the shipwrights, so they simply brought them to the Zhuhai Division for training, and the people on both sides were familiar with each other.
Now in command of this large coalition is none other than Colonel Schlopp Cliff, nicknamed "Rabid Dog", who has been promoted to commander of the 14th Free Division of the Seas, and was training his future subordinates on the east coast. When the fleet of the undead rushed into the strait, he immediately came to the bridgehead and took control of this key point connecting the east and west ports and threatening the sea and land.
Although the number of troops under his direct command was not as large as it should be, the total number of spellcasters that Cliff could command with a Liberty Division, a National Guard Division, and the Phased Bridge Garrison still exceeded three hundred—making his troops extremely wealthy. Naimon in the West Harbor was only able to pick up a few hundred stragglers in the chaos, and Cliff in the East Harbor even had the spare strength to send two regiments and more than 2,000 troops to patrol the various parts of the East Harbor. The patrol takes down the spies and snakes who take advantage of the situation, and at the same time destroys some disembodied and scattered undead. Over the course of more than a thousand years, the Undead Empire of the Great Wasteland has amassed a wide variety of strange undead creatures, and its tactics are much more flexible than those of the Free Army or the Imperial Army.
However, these tactics from ancient times may be very powerful as a sneak attack, but they are really nothing in front of the free army that is ready for battle.
A "modern army" – perhaps a "modern army" if we look at the time in which Anne Seffel lived – operates according to regulations and training.
A 100-person regular army company carries all kinds of resources that can fight independently, from company commanders, deputy commanders, sergeant majors, military mages, and military chaplains, like a complete set of enlarged adventurer teams. The "Bestiary", which was sold at large amounts of money in the Adventurers' Guild, was called the "Battle Order" in the hands of the regular army. Unlike the stories in popular knight and adventurer novels, if even the rough adventurer can deal with these ancient undead, there is no reason why a regular army that follows the rules and acts according to training cannot.
"One, two, three, vote!"
"Musketeers suppressed!"
"Even gun emplacements, scorching shells!"
The entire defense line was mixed with new recruits and veterans, all kinds of ammunition were sufficient, and the flashes on the periphery of the defense line came and went, rhythmically resisting every attack of the undead army. Regardless of whether the opposite side is a company, two companies, or a battalion of undead, the result of crashing into this line of defense makes no difference. All the undead could do was throw more reserves into the beach again and again, patrolling the defenders' line of fire: at the far end of the harbor, where no light shines, and it is impossible to see with binoculars how many enemies there are.
But Colonel Cliff, dressed in military uniform, was not at all afraid of them. With a relaxed expression, he stayed in the headquarters high above the main fortress, watching through the telescope as the undead army's attacks melted like ice and snow under the fortress walls. He even had time to talk and laugh with the female supervisor next to him who represented the Minister of Daoguo.
"What's in it for them in this kind of fighting? No, how can a dead man die again, and what do you call such a thing, 'excess'?"
Di Meiyi, the big butler of Huaicui Xing, and Zhang Shiyi's spokesperson here, sighed slightly. This petite mixed-race girl with short chestnut hair looks a little younger than her actual age, but she has a pair of hooked eyes. She is wearing a short fight in the style of Daomin today, and she is dressed like a chivalrous woman who is fierce and fast, which is also a match for this battlefield.
"I'm sorry, I'm a rough person, I don't have much culture, I don't quite understand what to say. But if I want to say it from a business point of view, probably skeletons and zombies don't need money. Skeletons and zombies don't need money, our artillery and magic stones do, so of course this business will be done. ”
Her speech was tightly tied to business, as if to remind others that she was the director of a huge business house. A half-breed born as a thief wanderer is extremely sensitive to identity.
But to Colonel Cliff's ears, this seemed to remind him that the woman in front of him was the one who represented the interests of Zhang Shiyi, the heir of the Taoist State. "Rabid dog" smiled and put it another way.
"Skeletons and zombies have to cross the ocean, and it's not free to transport them here. It's like fresh water is worthless, but it can be more expensive than silver to transport water to ships that lack water. Rather than spending it in vain, it is better to bet on the Westport, where the main port is easy to land and has a large population. If I were the commander of the undead, I would choose to concentrate my forces on the Westport, which is a more lucrative deal......"
"Make money? Do the undead still want to rob? They rob the gold, do they want to go back to their home country to spend it? Do the undead also use money?"
Halfway through speaking, Di Meiyi suddenly realized that she had said something stupid. Although she has learned a lot of magic, when it comes to these basics, she definitely can't compare to a regular mage from a family or a professional class. Sister Bai Ruisi taught them magic in the quickest and most "cramming" method, and I don't know where she learned this method.
"You mean, they can replenish their numbers by killing people in Westport, just like doing business to make money," she said. ”
"Exactly. With a population of over half a million people, the Twin Cities are enough to assemble an unprecedented army of the undead. 100,000, or 200,000. And if you fight here...... As long as we are still here, they will never be able to enter Donggang, and they can only fight less and less, just a pure waste of their own capital. ”
"Maybe they have some other purpose, like dragging us here?"
Di Meiyi praised it at the right time. She noticed that most of the staff officers of the divisional headquarters around her were also yawning: the battle ahead of them didn't even need the help of the commander. Several artillery forts and defensive units were steadily annihilating the enemy, and reserves were still sufficient.
"It's also said that only in dramas can there be the kind of undead who are all over the mountains and fields. If the commander on the other side isn't stupid, we need to think about what they're trying to achieve......"
Cliff pondered. During the Battle of Puzhou, he had already proved that he was a brave and resourceful general, and the reckless general was just his usual appearance. Otherwise, the Free Army would not have given him an entire division at ease.
"For example, to contain our forces here? Maybe the purpose of their attack is to prevent us from reinforcing Westport. But do they have enough troops?"
His left hand tapped back and forth on the blades of his right armour.
"Even if there are 500 undead in a ship, even if there are 300 enemy ships in this port, there are only 15,000 undead. According to the calculation of 1,200 people in a regiment, they are only ...... But there are ......"
Seeing that Cliff was stuck, Di Meiyi answered in time: "Twelve regiments." ”
"Yes, twelve regiments. Wait, twelve regiments? twelve regiments......"
Cliff took a sip and said a dirty word, "It's a little more than I thought." I also think that I should be able to squeeze out two regiments to reinforce Westport, so let's squeeze one first. ”
Suddenly, there was a panicked cry, and a feng shui monk rushed to Cliff, the main general.
"Lord General! The prophetic compass is suddenly shattered, and it is a great murderer!"
Before Cliff could speak, someone in the staff couldn't help it. A military priest captain who could use prophecy magic squinted at the Daomin who rushed in, and sneered: "The big murderer, this battle is going so well, where did the big murderer come from? Alarmist! You Daomin just rely too much on this kind of continuous divination, and what kind of hope and wind observation have seriously reduced the accuracy of the prophetic magic, let me take an oracle ......"
He grasped the emblem on his chest and recited the prayer silently, and his face immediately changed.
"Ahh Really a danger warning. It stands to reason that there would not be such a clear indication on the battlefield, and we in Lenny, in Puzhou, the oracles are dim and unclear......"
Cliff's brow furrowed.
Prophecy magic is not very common for officers of the Free Army, but it is more common for the Imperial Army and the Dao Army. In fact, it is used to reveal the situation "now" on the battlefield. In the words of Taiping Dao, the "blood light qi" and "killing qi" on the battlefield will seriously affect the accuracy of the prophecy magic.
There is only one case where there is a very clear hint of prophetic magic: there is an extremely powerful target on the other side that is completely invincible to the caster. Therefore, Cliff knew that during the Battle of Puzhou, Naimon and Zhang Shiyi had strictly forbidden the use of all prophetic magic to prevent the military from being shaken.
But in front of the Donggang front, where did the "invincible target" come from?
Cliff looked in the direction of land and shook his head. The enemy forces in front of him were arrayed, and only a few undead friends commanded them, and not even a vampire or death knight could be seen—even with a big man like a lich, Cliff didn't believe that one or two high-level undead could outperform the three hundred spellcasters in his hands.
He set his sights on the bridge again. There, he saw several unexpected patches of darkness blocking the green light from the bridge's deck.
"Wait. What is that...... Is it a ship?!Is the threat here?"
Cliff had no intention of talking or laughing with Di Meiyi anymore, and walked quickly to the observation window pointing in the direction of the bridge.
"The enemy may let a small group of elite troops invade through the bridge, and then strengthen the barricades on the side of the tax card! There is no permanent fortress on the main road, try to build a barrier with the divine magic of the anti-undead!"
Coming from a combat unit between the militia and the mercenaries, which is between the militia and the mercenaries, the command of the "rabid dog" seems direct and concise. If he were a veteran of the deceased predecessor, Major General Goho, he might have chosen to wait for his staff officer to work out a plan for him, but Cliff would not have chosen that. Even if it was an order that might be wrong, he would choose to carry it out first.
Next, he and everyone in the Donggang garrison saw the jaw-dropping, circus-like breakthrough performance.
The huge undead battleship turned into wood pulp, and countless gray paper kites flew into the sky. With the right amount of magic, cavalry can also defeat navies. The undead fleet that does not retreat, there is actually a ship that has abandoned its duties and escaped!
The assault cavalry sent a message of identification between friend and foe through magic, startling everyone in the command.
"The Seventh Fleet of the Free Navy, Admiral Wibuwu, the Bishop Simon Inglae, the Bishop of the Far South Diocese, and the Governor of the Phase, Major Namen Soleton, have routed the enemy's blocking forces and are about to reach the bridgehead. Do you want to be released?"
"Of course let it go! If the undead can fake our people to this extent, this battle will not be unjust!"
After giving the order, Colonel Cliff grunted and walked back to his seat in the command headquarters.
"I haven't put together two regiments to reinforce Westport, but they came first. I don't need reinforcements here......"
For some reason, there was a sudden silence in the headquarters, and the atmosphere was very strange. Everyone, whether it was the Free Army or the Daomin Army, stared at the broken Feng Shui compass on his desk.
The monk who used Feng Shui opened his mouth first: "Lord General, if such a bad omen is not good, maybe you should be more cautious, sir, should you let the garrison stop you? After all, we don't have any reason to need reinforcements here." ”
The chaplain who used the oracle couldn't help but say, "Maybe we should think that not only did we read this prophecy, but they also read it." The magic users over there are more advanced than we are, and maybe they can get a more accurate oracle......"
One of the advantages of the modern General Staff: the ability to get to the point very quickly.
Then everyone fell silent.
One of the shortcomings of modern bureaucratic organizations: no one wants to tell the truth.
"That is to say, the threat in this prophecy is so great that they will cross the phase port in the fierce battle of the entire fleet to reinforce us, is that right?"
Di Meiyi gave full play to her advantages as a woman and told the truth. The female mage who was born as a thief doesn't know much knowledge, but she is very smart and good at survival.
The "severed finger rabid" flicked his gauntlet with the remaining two fingers of his right hand and stood up sharply.
"Come with me to meet the Overseers, let's go to the front! we can't sit here anymore, what the threat is, at least we have to see it with our own eyes!"
Cliff strode out the door, and the entire command immediately became scrambling, some staying behind and others following him with various files and magic weapons. Di Meiyi exchanged a few glances with a few people from the Daoguo Legation, and also ran out of the door.
The fortified headquarters was built on the higher part of the entire fortress, on the sides of the bridgehead, about four or five stories high. Walk down the stairs to reach the garrison of the cavalry squadron. Cliff and the others looked at the bridge, and could see that Wei Buwu, Naimon and the others had just passed the barricade and were rushing to the stables in the cavalry garrison.
The "rabid dog" waved at them and gave a casual military salute, and the staff officers who followed him also saluted under the city walls. Cliff did not stop, but walked up the stairs, ready to enter the interior of the fortress. It was necessary to pass through these stairs, which were covered by the ramparts, to enter the six groups of low bastions that approached the beach at the front. The six sets of low bastions, which contained more than half of the cannons and magical weapons, and the outer parapets were smooth and enchanted, and now they were fully defended, watering the gravel of the harbor with the blood of the undead.
To his surprise, the horses below all stopped and saluted him in return. Regardless of the young Overseer, Cliff couldn't imagine why the Rear Marshal of the Seventh Fleet would salute back—
No, not a salute. Although I couldn't see it here, it must have been a look of astonishment.
"Rabid Dog with Severed Finger" turned his head sharply, looking in the direction of his headquarters amid the exclamations of the men next to him and the screams of the women.
He saw a boat.
A sailboat with a barnacle at the bottom, poorly maintained, and looking vintage. Since it is a ship of the fleet of the dead, its shape and bottom seem to be dead.
The ship was falling in the air, straight above his headquarters.
The process was supposed to be fast: the ship's height wasn't too high, and the descent was fast, albeit with some magical protection.
But in the hearts of all people, it was indeed a long time.
After blocking the bridge with a ship, they saw the undead army's latest tactical innovation: attacking the city with a ship.
Before the boat appeared, Naimon and Wei Buwu were chatting. After a short period of fighting side by side, the two of them had a feeling of sympathy for each other.
"So, why papermaking?"
"That's my father's Taoism. Combining the two essences of Zhengyi and Taiping, it is used to cross the seven seas. ”
"The essence of the two is papermaking?"
"It may be difficult for you to understand the role of paper in our civilization. In our Dao system, its power is far greater than you think......"
In the safety of their own forts, people can finally relax and no longer have the tension they had before. Compared to the apocalyptic battle situation in Westport, the situation here is much calmer, and everything seems to be running according to the regulations.
After crossing the herd of heavily loaded wagons abandoned on the side of the road, the men of this elite squad found the stables. There were hundreds of fine military horses and horses, which smelled the scent of the dead and let out a panicked cry. The soldiers of the cavalry squadron were managing these turbulent animals, and behind them was the "bridgehead" - or the main fort of the bridgehead fortress complex. In order to prevent pirates from coming, sailors from rioting, every coastal city would consider building such a fortress.
On the stairs at the back of the fort, a group of officers were coming down, looking like they were coming to meet them—
Just then, the boat appeared.
The boat appeared without warning and in a completely unreasonable position: it appeared on top of the main plug.
Naimon Soleton was in the bridgehead, looking at the ship in the air with everyone around him, and was stunned for a moment. Even Wei Buwu, who was well-informed and well-informed, was stunned.
A sea ship, in the sky of a fortress, suddenly appears, which in itself is already a fantastical scene.
And the boat still looks familiar. Someone from the navy already shouted: "Isn't that the enemy ship that escaped from the battle?!"
Naimon admits that he really can't tell the difference between the sailboats. But since the people of the Guardsmen said so, it should be true.
Then he realized what that meant.
It doesn't just mean a raid on a ship –
It means that there is a top-tier spellcaster on the opposite side who can directly teleport a boat to attack. A ruthless opponent who can punish his men for deserting and throwing them in the middle of the enemy line.
"Defense!"
Naimon, Waibuwu, and Cliff at the top of the steps shouted at the same time.
The ship was probably hovering in the air for a while—for exactly how long, no one knows, but it must have been hovering for a while.
Because it did not fall from the sky and shatter it directly, but paused before smashing "gently" on the city wall, and the hull of the ship was "only" broken into three sections, in which some magic must have been effective to protect it. These three sections of the hull cut off the entire top of the city wall, and the bottom and sides of the ship were full of cracks, and all kinds of broken wood fell like raindrops, turning the inside of the originally neat fortress into a chaotic battle outside.
Immediately afterward, a lot of skeleton "scrap" and zombie "rotten blood" spilled out of the cabin, but more undead creatures were killed from the cracks in the cabin. The Friends of the Dead followed them with fear on their faces: whoever escaped and was thrown into the middle of the enemy line would probably have this expression.
"Fight! There is no way back!"
The necromancers and dark knights on the opposite side put on such a decisive assault posture and rushed into the free army of the main fortress. Once there are no fortifications, the exchange ratio between the two sides is not so good.
The number of enemies was small, but even so, this "fall" still shook the company of garrisons on the walls of the fortress and did not know how to respond. At least seven or eight people were hit directly, and although the rest dodged, many were knocked down by the magic that shot out of the boat.
The Free Army, which had been cut in half by the hull, could only fight on its own, and also lost its geographical advantage and firepower, so its combat efficiency was naturally reduced a lot; the undead cannon fodder, which should have been consumed in large quantities by the fortifications, entered the distance they were best at, and its lethality was more than doubled. Fifty or sixty undead sensed the opportunity and jumped down the steps at the command of the human commander, intending to rush directly into the fortress and cause chaos.
"Paper kites take off!"
"Dismount and ascend to the city!"
Seeing that the defenders were in a bitter battle, Wei Buwu rode forward, raised his hand, and released all the paper kites made on the bridge that had not yet been used, and he himself rushed to the stairs at a fast speed. Naimon led the others to dismount and dashed into the stables with small steps, exchanging hands with some of the undead who had already reached the ground.
"Overseer, dispose of the top of the wall as you did with the ships on the bridge!"
"Severed Finger Rabid Dog," Colonel Cliff shouted from the steps, wielding his gauntlets, guarding the entrances to several forward bulwarks on the second floor of the fort along with the command guards.
"Then it's going to be handed over to Young Marshal Wei!
Wei Buwu nodded: "The situation is understood." ”
Compared to the strength of the defenders, the hundreds of undead on this boat are indeed not worth mentioning. Waibuwu fought his way to the top of the wall and joined up with the defenders there, using "papermaking" to pulp most of the battleship, while Naimon joined up with Cliff and blocked the enemies who tried to enter the fortress. After greeting each other, they re-ascended the recovered city walls.
Cliff's original headquarters was also swept away by the attacking Undead Revival Army in this short period of time, and the few staff officers who remained behind were all killed. No one wanted to use this command anymore, they simply watched the battle from the city walls - of course, in order to prevent another ship from the opposite side from coming, they avoided the front of the battle line.
Thousands of paper kites flew near the city walls, covering the situation, cooperating with the Free Army to clear the enemy from the ship. One of the toughest enemies was a mid-level necromancer, barely at the level of an archmage, who had been killed by a parish bishop who had come with him.
"It's uncomfortable to execute deserters on behalf of the enemy. Naimon maintained his pistol while observing the battle situation on the front line through the gaps in the paper kites, "More importantly, where is that executioner? ”
Cliff took out a feng shui compass that had been broken into two pieces from his pocket, "Wait, aren't you here to chase him? The soothsayer was just sacrificed. ”
Wei Buwu explained: "No. We're here to borrow the refills here. Time is urgent, and we don't have divination. The Overseer has a Holy Artifact that needs a supply of energy. ”
"In other words, you don't know what the prophecy is, where did this murderer come from, who are we fighting, why on earth is he attacking here?
Hearing Cliff's questions, several people suddenly fell silent. Not only them, but the entire battlefield seemed to be quiet at the same time, and the sound of fighting and shelling seemed to disappear at the same time, leaving only the sound of the wind and the "beep" of some burning wood.
"It's not right. Something really isn't right. Wei Buwu was the first to react, "This may be a prophecy war." ”
"Prophecy War?" This was the first time Naimon had heard the term, and he asked curiously. Cliff, Di Meiyi, and most of the officers on the side were also confused, and only a few bishops from the church had a look of "probably so" on their faces.
Anne's memory bank interjected at the right time, and explained to Namen, "Prophecy War is a general term for events triggered by prophecy, and is not necessarily limited to war. Most scholars of prophetic magic believe that prophetic magic is equivalent to punching a hole in a vast chain of cause and effect, and that the act itself causes the actions of all those who know the message, resulting in the fulfillment or misinterpretation of the prophecy. In modern economics, market volatility caused by prophetic magic is regarded as a major component of 'market expectations'. The most famous prophecy wars in history are the change of dynasty of the Eastern Empire, and each change of dynasty must be accompanied by a large number of prophecies, and the wars around them are also the most violent. ”
And at the same time as the explanation of the memory bank, Wei Buwu also briefly explained the word to the group of uneducated people around him.
"In the East, we call this 'proverb'. 'Prophecies' are the equivalent of your prophecies, they are usually created by the most famous mages, but the appearance of these prophecies creates a struggle in itself. For example, there are three top mages who prophesied a crisis at the same time, but the crisis may have been triggered by the three of them fulfilling the prophecy. ”
Since Naimon was still listening to the explanation of the memory bank, Cliff first understood what Young Marshal Wei meant: "You mean, the other party also predicted our behavior and came here?
"I think so. Wei Buwu's brows furrowed, "Thinking about it this way, my father's order may also know something through divination......"
"Rabid Dog" interrupted him suddenly: "Then what are we waiting for! Now that we know that there may be a prophecy war, is it time to waste time here! What are you going to do with that charging device, hurry up and do it!"
Di Meiyi, who was on the side, suddenly spoke: "Everyone, don't you think the front line is too quiet?"
It was then that they realized that the silence around them was unusual. Perhaps it was because they were so focused on exchanging information about each other that they didn't notice that the cannonade had stopped!
Several forts on the front line have all stopped firing. On the outer walls of those fortresses, skeletons, zombies, and dead spiders have begun to enter the inside with the artillery barriers. If you listen closely, you can still hear one or two explosions, but then it calms down.
Cliff's left hand was already shaking slightly. The jump from impregnable to collapse across the board was too big for him to accept. Shouldn't these fortresses first be made to him, the commander, to be sent reinforcements, and then to be lost?
"It can't be! We didn't get any alert, and they killed our front forts?! How many of them were?"
"At least two regiments. The undead carried on the right wing of the entire fleet should be here. "We're a little calmer than he is," we must admit that there was at least one real, top-tier spellcaster on the other side, and his mana boost was enough to negate all the magic items we had prepared in advance. It could be a saturated poison cloud attack, or simply a sonic or cursed massive attack. ”
Naimon had already picked up the binoculars: "Look behind the enemy formation. I didn't find an intermediate or high-level undead, but the man was weird. There was an empty field around him. ”
Behind the enemy formation, stood a seemingly ordinary friend of the undead.
Naimon looked through the magical vision of "detecting the undead" on the telescope, and there was no trace of black gas on the person's body, as if he was an ordinary civilian: even Naimon and Wei Buwu, who had just fought with the undead, would be stained with the remains of the undead, and they would not look so dim in the telescope's field of vision.
That person showed a very healthy bright red living reaction in the sea of undead qi of the disastrous defeat, not a necromancer, not a death knight, not an immortal, but like an ordinary mortal who had strayed into this army of the undead.
"Certainly not a lich. Cliff also picked up the binoculars and made a judgment first, "But unlike the enemy's commander, the commander must always have a subordinate mid-level executor." Could it be a sacrifice or something, like a mortal collaborator of the Undead Empire?"
"I don't think it could be a 'friend of the dead'. ”
Wei Buwu didn't rush to take out the binoculars, but continued to ask: "Does he look like an ordinary human or elven mage when he detects the undead?
Naimon nodded: "Exactly. All around him were empty, and the army of the undead just bypassed him. ”
"Well, I think I can probably guess what the enemy is. We've run into an enemy chieftain. ”
Even the well-informed Young Marshal Wei Buwu couldn't help but have a bit of respect in his tone.
"That should be the Immortal, the top undead spellcaster, the immortal and the immortal, the earthly agent of the Emperor of the Undead. They are the vice-emperors of the Empire of the Dead, the dictators of the Holy Forest...... There aren't a few vice-emperors in the entire Undead Empire, so we can meet one here. ”
If Bonnie Seiffel were here now, she would have a "miscalculated" expression.
It was another thing she hadn't anticipated. The information she obtained, using the Prophecy Divine Technique, can verify the authenticity to a certain extent, similar to the Lie Detection Dao technique used by Wei Taiping and them: that's why she thinks that as long as Sid Nasser is taken away, there will be no more immortals in Phase Harbor.
There is only one Immortal in the fleet, and he is the commander of this fleet, and that's right.
It is also true that Sid Nasser, the royal minister of security, is an immortal, dictator and vice-emperor of the Restored Empire.
There was just one small problem: the Immortal Commander of the fleet was not Sid Nasser.
The Royal Minister of Security did not come with the fleet; There is another Immortal, the true commander of this fleet.
Bonnie Sefir, who left with peace of mind, is one less immortal.
And the other immortal was standing right in front of the Donggang Fortress.
The place where all the prophecies meet.
