Chapter 15: The Real and the Unreal
If you think about it carefully, it's a strange thing in itself that someone actually called for help in this ghost place.
Aree withdrew his falcon sword, walked to the edge of the pond, and put his hand into the water, which he thought was still unreal, but the hot touch of the water told him that it was a real pond.
What is this? a man-eating pond? or hot water?
The black-haired knight thought about it for a moment and decided to go into the water to see what was going on, when a gust of wind blew across the ruined courtyard, and he heard a series of strange noises coming from the ruined mansion.
The sound seemed to come from a distant cavern, with a hollow echo, getting closer and closer.
At first, there was a faint knock echo, and soon, it turned into a tick-tock collision sound, and Yalei finally heard it clearly, it was obviously the sound of horses' hooves!
Did you get caught up in the subspace, or did you accidentally break into some illusion?
The black-haired knight glanced around with a headache, and finally his gaze stayed on the clear surface of the pond, and the corners of his expressionless mirror lips curled slightly, revealing a strange smile at him.
Yalei then touched his mouth, obviously not smiling, and when he looked at the water again, a sudden change appeared! The mirror image began to age rapidly, and in just two or three seconds, he changed from an energetic young man to a rickety old man.
Strange Big Tree...... Strange pools...... If I'm not mistaken, the next step should be......
A realization rose in his heart, vaguely captured the key point, and before he had time to think deeply, a cool breeze blew on the back of his neck, and the back of his neck was very itchy.
Turn around. Under the dark and empty night. A strange evil creature shrouded in black smoke. was staring at a pair of blood-red eyes, looking at himself coldly, and a cold bass that was big and small, fluctuating and fluctuating followed the cool breeze into his ears:
"Go back!
The cold voice became clearer and harsher, and the evil thing wrapped in black smoke kept moving away, and Yalei quickly chased after it, and finally found something that was still alive, how could it be just let it run.
In a blink of an eye. The evil creature in the smoke enveloped in the arch sank into the arch, as if swallowed by the dilapidated mansion, and spewed out a cold fragment of black mist, and then completely disappeared.
The black-haired knight followed and stormed the hall of the mansion, and when he looked around, there was no furniture in the entire ruined hall, and it was covered with cobwebs and moss. The ceiling was covered with large and small gaps, and the brilliant crystal lights fell to the ground, and the broken glass slag rolled all over the black floor.
Including Yalei himself, the entire space is a grayish-black tone. The silver moonlight that shone diagonally down from the empty window frame, carrying the narrow shadow under his feet to the wall.
There are hollow walls inside. There was a kerosene lamp that emitted a pale white flickering fire.
The more the black-haired knight looked at the lamp, the more suspicious he became, so he ignored it and walked down the spiral staircase towards the second floor, where he soon had to retreat again.
For he found that the further he went towards the interior of the mansion, the dimer the light became, and when he reached the second floor, he could not see clearly with his eyes.
Reluctantly picking up the kerosene lamp, Yare walked back to the second floor of the mansion, and by the light, he entered the messy lounge, where the stone beast head stared at him on the stone pillar between the two floor-to-ceiling windows.
"Sebastian?" asked the black-haired knight tentatively.
"Go back! go back!" it spewed cold air from its mouth, rushing forward with a rotten smell.
"Isn't this nonsense, I'm trying to figure out how to go back now!"
Looking at Sebastian with a blank face, even though he knew that the two stone heads might be different, Yalei was still angry, and simply stepped forward, raised his leg and kicked the stone pillar, and took off the stone beast head again.
Then he walked out through the side door on the left, carrying the kerosene lamp, and walked down the corridor to the staircase that led to the third floor, but now the staircase had completely collapsed, and was piled up in small hills.
Who says you can't go upstairs without stairs?
The collapsed staircase was a minor problem for the black-haired knight, with the stone beast's head tucked between the crooks of his arms, and the kerosene lamp in the same hand. He jumped nimbly onto the wall, stabbed into the wall with one hand, and climbed up at a rapid speed, and soon reached the top floor.
In the moonlight that spilled through the glazed vault to the floor, several small black figures were slowly moving in the empty bedroom, dragging neatly cut stone slabs behind them to the half-stacked burial chamber in the space.
There were also several smaller black shadows, grinding the slate with tools, and strangely enough, there was no sound in the room, and the heavy slabs were as silent as their narrow shadows.
The tomb that hasn't been built yet? Could it be that I'm going back in time?
A ridiculous thought suddenly rose in Yalei's heart, and then he was denied by himself, if the mansion in the past was so dilapidated, then who made it what it is now?
Earl Beverley?
Or was this mansion not his work at all, but was built much earlier, only to be used and remodeled by the scholar mage?
The black-haired knight walked up to the shadow in confusion and poked his hand at its head, passing directly through the virtual image as expected.
Sure enough, it was an illusion......
He walked to the front of the floor-to-ceiling window, smashed the moss-covered glass window with a kerosene lamp, and the cold air poured in, and suddenly a crow's cry came from above.
A few black feathers fell down the hazy moonlight, and Yalei reached out to pinch the feathers and looked at the scenery below, there was no human population around.
On the west side of the lawn overgrown in the moonlight, you can only see ugly fruit trees, and then look at the other end of these fruit trees, there is a bay of clear pond water. Directly below the mansion, the evil creature shrouded in black smoke was staring at itself from the bottom up with blood-red eyes.
Dryad ...... Dead Spring...... Incubus...... And...... Deserted house.
The black-haired knight had an obscure realization in his heart, could it be that the source of these curses was originally derived from a curse a long, long time ago?
Is the source and core of Glamorgan's curse hidden in this subspace where it is located?
When Aree thought of this, a scent of grass and trees suddenly rushed into his nostrils, and a dazzling sun suddenly rose among the mountains in the distance.
The blinding light made the black-haired knight uncomfortable for a while, but the warm sensation told him that his environment had changed again. (To be continued......)
