Section 2 Figoro Fortress
It took Rex half a day to cover the geographical confines of the Gikal Plains. The pen "Fun" Pavilion www.biquge.info entered the frontier fortress of the empire - Figoro.
This area adjacent to Morrowind was an important military fortress set up by the Empire, which could both keep out foreign invasions and defend against pirates sneaking in from the coral islands. In order to deal a heavy blow to those pirates, Barguf III organized an army of thousands of people, led by General Hood, to attack Coral Island, hoping to completely exterminate the rampant pirates.
The day after the general's expedition, the monks around the fortress joined forces with the pirates to riot. They stormed the fortress, killed a few poor guards, and occupied the gates of the fortress. The rebels were very organized, orderly, and more combative.
The pirates stole a lot of treasure from the villagers' homes and transported the looted treasures to Coral Island. The rebellious monks became the real rulers of the fortress, and they wrote to King Barguf III in the hope of obtaining his authorization. Their leader, Rhea Rebit, was once the abbot of the church in the heart of the city of Whitehorse. Later, because of adultery, he was exiled by the king and became a wandering monk.
Later, he lived in the villages and towns near the fortress, hoping that one day he would be able to seize the rule of the fortress of Figoro. Rhea Rebit sat in the large wooden chair in the Captain's office, "The poor king is probably trying to keep himself from being nervous right now, and I would love to fly to his side and enjoy it all." He said to the staff officer beside him.
By the time the dawn sun had just reached the earth, the reinforcements led by the general had already seen the towers of the fortress that were shining in the distance. General Hood spent several hours discussing plans for attacking the fortress with his troops. In the end, they decided to use the fireball technique to defeat the bandits and monks.
As soon as the general gave the order, his army began to attack fiercely. The infantry in the front row raised their large wooden mallets and smashed them against the closed gates, and they raised their iron shields to block the arrows fired by the robbers on the walls. The archers in the back row fired flaming fire into the walls and the city, surprisingly eliminating the stubborn resistance within the gates.
Bombs of fire fell on the robbers, and the monks hurried to the wounded to try to heal them with healing magic. But the flames bounced off the wounded and onto the healers themselves, one after the other. The robbers who resisted suddenly realized how helpless they were, and they began to panic and retreated backwards without organization. Seeing that something was wrong, Rhea Rebit quickly fled the battlefield.
After this turmoil, the dominance of the fortress was returned to the hands of the Empire.
On the way near the fortress, Rex encounters a patrol of Imperial soldiers escorting an orc fugitive towards the fortress castle. Seeing Rex approaching on horseback, the captain rushed over vigilantly and asked, "Hey, stop, friend, you're familiar!"
Rex was surprised, and then defended, "Captain, you recognized the wrong person. I don't know you, and I don't think we've ever met. ”
"Don't lie to me, I know your face. The captain shouted solemnly, "If you dare to defy me, you are contempt of the laws of the Empire, I will arrest you and put you in jail, understand?"
Rex smiled with a smile, "Don't dare, don't dare, I have great respect for you and your profession." ”
The captain observed him for a moment, and muttered, "I remember, this face is exactly the same as the portrait on the bounty order." ”
"Bounty order, what bounty order?" asked Rex.
"In view of the threat posed by you freaks to dignitaries from various countries, General Hagam has issued a bounty order. As long as a bounty hunter can catch you, you can go to the captains of the various forts in exchange for a large bounty, and the bounty will work all over the country. The captain said.
"Oh, can I see the bounty order?" Rex asked.
The captain pulled out a foot-long scroll from his bosom, pulled it open and displayed it in front of Rex, and said, "This is your bounty order, look at the portrait on it is you." ”
Rex jumped off his horse and approached the scroll, where he saw his name written on the bounty list, accompanied by a portrait with a bounty of 700,000 gold coins.
"I didn't expect my head to be so valuable. Rex laughed to himself.
The captain said in a warning tone, "Whatever your purpose for coming here, you'd better be honest with me, just because Fort Figoro is on the edge of the empire doesn't mean there are no laws, and if you get in trouble, I'll take you to jail even if there's no bounty, understand!"
Rex pretended to be serious, and immediately assured the captain, "Please rest assured, sir, I am just passing by on this trip, and I will never dare to make trouble, nor will I do anything illegal, I promise you in the name of the Holy Lord!"
The captain stared at him for a moment and said, "Okay, I'll trust you for once, I hope you can keep your promise, cherish the opportunity, and enjoy your journey." Good luck!" With that, he put away the bounty order and put it in his arms again, then turned to leave, and returned to the group.
"I will. Rex looked at the captain's back and said silently.
The sun was close to noon, and the sun was shining a little hot. The captain led the soldiers along the main road beside the river, chatting as they went.
"Everyone has heard the news that Prince Keith was captured by the tiger people, and I don't know when he will be rescued. We need to strengthen the security measures of the fortress, there are so many thieves that we don't have time to deal with them lately. Brothers, hand over this bastard to the warden later, and we'll go to the Hunter's Tavern for a drink, and there's more important work to be done in the evening. The captain said to the soldiers behind him.
"Good idea, Captain. I'm starting to miss old Ron's ale. A soldier said.
"You don't know, there's no alcohol in my hometown. Another soldier complained, "Until I came to the fortress and drank Ron's ale, the feeling of warmth and comfort was so warm and cozy that I was simply fascinated." The ale is the best I've ever seen!"
His colleagues burst into laughter, expressing their disagreement with him.
The orc smiled contemptuously, "The world is so big, I think you should give up your current job and travel to Skyrim." Frankly, malt wine is not a good thing. The orc said with a mocking tone.
"Can your nose withstand my fists? I don't believe it, why don't you try?" the mocked soldier yelled at the orc.
"No," begged the orc, "I believe, I'm sure. At the same time, he tried to squeeze out a wry smile to ease the awkward atmosphere.
"That's enough, that's the end of the joke. The captain exclaimed, "Before lunch, we are going to send him to prison, this is the order." ”
With smiles and serious expressions, the soldiers marched quickly in a neat line towards the fortress's gates.
Rex followed the patrol into the gates of Fort Figoro. He led Shadowmare to the stable.
"Can I ask you a favor?" asked Rex.
"Say, I'm the boss here, you can tell me if you need anything, and I'll do my best to meet you. The owner, Mazga Rag, said as he busied himself grooming the horses in the stable.
"I'm going to leave it with you," Rex gestured at Shadowmare, "I hope you'll groom it and feed it some forage by the way." ”
Mazgar looked up at the Nightmare and said in surprise, "Oh my God, this is incredible, my eyes are not flowered, it is a rare thing to see - Shadowmare!"
Rex smiled and nodded, "Well, that's right, it's my mount now!"
"No problem, no problem," Mazga said excitedly, his eyes lit up, "just leave it to me, and I'll take care of it." Mazgar came out of the stable, walked straight to Shadowmarish, and stroked the horse with his hand as if it were a precious treasure, feeling it greedily and carefully.
"I'm going to the Hunter's Tavern for a drink, and I'll leave it to you with Nightmare. With that, Rex turned and left the stable. Mazgar waved his hand at his back without looking back.
The houses in the Figoro Fortress were built of stones, which were broken up and polished into smaller stones by the craftsmen of the Empire, and the houses were both beautiful and sturdy. Many of the walls of the fortress were built 300 years ago and are still intact today.
Among the many stone houses, the Hunter's Tavern, made of wood, stands out. The tavern is located in the center of the fortress, at the crossroads. Four avenues lead to all corners of the fortress. At the entrance of the tavern stands a wooden pillar the size of a bowl, and at the top of the pillar hangs a wooden plaque depicting a bow and an arrow, and below the pattern is the words "Hunter's Tavern" written in special symbols.
The hut is surrounded by a square, bamboo pole-enclosed flower bed filled with nightshade and mountain flowers. The staircase to the tavern was built in the middle of the garden, and Rex walked up the wooden steps to find a ragged Imperial veteran sitting in the hallway outside, looking very tired. The two black feet stretched forward, the dry skin caving into the gaps in the bones. He was horrified, his eyes sunken into his sockets, barely visible.
Sensing Rex approaching, the veteran folded his hands and said in a trembling voice, "O kind traveler, please give me a glass of wine!" and began to kowtow and beg for mercy.
Rex stopped without saying a word, took a gold coin from his pocket and tossed it to him, then walked briskly up the steps to the tavern door. The old man trembled and picked up the gold coin on the ground and thanked him repeatedly.
He stood in the doorway, and heard the room full of people, singing, arguing, and making it impossible to distinguish between you and me.
