Section 9 The Poor Cook
Two days later, Seredith arrives at Rex's camp with good news and draws a map of the palace leading to the Black Prison. Pen~Fun~Pavilion www.biquge.info Rex took this precious gift and was full of gratitude to this tiger friend.
Seredith hurriedly left the camp after delivering the message, and in order not to arouse the general's suspicion, he had to return to the palace kitchen before dark. Not long after Seredith left, the three of them discussed and decided to re-enter the City of Thorns and follow the map to rescue the prince Keith.
However, before they were ready to go, the sky became overcast and a strong wind blew. The three of them had to hide in the tents of the camp again, and before the wind could fully blow, the torrential rain poured down from the sky and extinguished the fire in front of the two tents.
Rex yelled at Barbas and Isodal "It's a thunderstorm cloud, I see it." ”
Barbas and Isodal grew closer and closer, and they were like a real couple sitting in a tent across from Rex. "Yes, I saw it too. Barbas replied loudly, "It's terrible weather, I'm afraid we'll have to wait a little longer." ”
"Hold on to the tent and don't let the wind blow it away. Rex shouted.
Another gust of wind blew, and a waterfall-like rain fell, washing the gloomy, dark, and oppressive earth, and soon returning the bright, fresh, and uplifting world to the sky.
Barbas and Isodar were still sleeping in their tents, and Rex was standing in front of the camp after the rain, breathing in the fresh air and the mud blowing in the breeze. He felt the clouds scattered across the sky gently enveloping his body, the trees, and the tent. He was curious, and it should be said that he was calming his mind and entering the hidden chakra of contemplation.
The sky cleared, and lovers woke up from their sleep. The sun shone through the curtains and on the faces of the two. Isodar rested on Barbas's arm and smiled contentedly at the sight of Barbas's face.
When the two of them got up, they found that Rex had already made a fire, that Isodal had made a pot of soup with salmon and vegetables, that Barbas was roasting a hare, and that Rex had finished their baggage, and that the three of them had sat down together for breakfast and set off.
On the road, they move very slowly. Since they couldn't enter Thorn City during the day, they had to wait until night fell before entering the city through the underground passages.
Isordar's bounty orders are plastered all over the streets, and any bounty hunter could catch her and send her to the prison of Thorn City, so she can't return to Thorn City in the open. When they reached the gates of the City of Thorns, night came as scheduled.
In the darkness of the night, the three of them walked cautiously and slowly along the city wall, and then dived to the bottom of the moat, and finally found the entrance to the underground passage where they had escaped. Swimming in through the entrance, they reached the underground passage of the city.
Filthy sewage flowed under their feet, and the entire underground passage was filled with a pungent smell of rot. The fermentation of the sludge produced a large amount of methane, their throats tightened, they felt it was difficult to breathe, and the trio could barely find a bit of fresh air.
Luckily, Isodal is a good guide. She knew the structure of the underground passage well, and she seemed to have an invisible map in her mind, leading the two of them through the passage for a short time before returning to the surface.
The trio returned to the streets of the Plains, where darkness had covered most of the space, but there were still candles in many of the rooms, indicating that the city had not yet fully slept. The whole city is quiet and peaceful, without the fear of killing in the past. A bright moon hung in the sky, shining on the empty street, and there was no one on the street, only a patrol of soldiers, hovering the street with torches.
They dodged the patrolling soldiers and sneaked back to the Thorn Tavern. Broken tables and chairs were scattered all over the floor, and the tavern room was covered with a thick layer of dust. They stood in the hall, staring blankly at the room, thinking of the prosperity of the past and the ruin of the present.
"When are we going to act?" asked Barbas to Rex.
"Let's go now," Rex replied.
"Please wait, the palace is heavily guarded, you can't enter the palace through the ladder of justice" Isodar said worriedly, "There are only two of you, it's too risky to break in directly!"
"Do you have a better way?" asked Rex.
Isodal nodded.
"Tell me what you can do!" Babas urged.
"If you want to enter the king's palace, in addition to the path through the ladder of justice, there is a secret passage, and not many people know about it. ”
"What do you mean...!" Rex said.
"I know where it is, let me take you there!" said Isodalt.
"Okay, get rid of you. Rex said.
They left through the back door of the tavern, and under the cover of the shadow of the house, Isodal led them towards the Magsta Chapel.
Behind the church there is a nondescript hut where two heavily armed tigerman soldiers are guarding.
"That house is the entrance to the secret passage, where you must enter!" Isodar pointed to the hut.
"Can it go straight to the palace?" Rex asked.
"That's right. This secret passage connects the General's office. She whispered.
"Okay, we'll take care of the rest, you find a place to hide first. Rex said to Isodal.
"It's best that the two of us can fight with all our might. Barbas approached Isodar and took her face and scrutinized it, "Protect yourself, I'll be back to you soon." ”
"Let's get moving!" Rex ordered.
A flash of golden light flashed, and Barbas turned into a giant wolf. He roared and flew like arrows at the tigerman guards. Before the two guards could react, Barbas had already torn off one of the masks and bit off his head. The other guard howled like a pig, and before he could make a second call, Babas threw him to the ground and bit open the tigerman's throat. The guards pressed their hands to their necks, their feet trembling, and it wasn't long before he was dying.
At first, Isodal was worried that they would be weak and that they would not be able to fight the Tiger soldiers, but seeing their battle just now, he felt that his worries were a little unnecessary.
Easily dealt with the guards, and the two planned to kill them like this. The key to the entrance to the black prison was found from the guards, and stepping into the dark black, heavy iron gate seemed to have stepped into a time tunnel, and a row of steps extended down into the darkness not far away.
The two of them walked down the stairs lightly, silently, as if they were not there at all in the darkness. The steps ahead were unusually smooth, and they didn't encounter a single tiger guard. It wasn't until we reached the end of the road that I saw a hole. The stone-stacked arched hole is two meters high, and a bonfire lamp hangs from the wall next to it, and two guards still stand and chat at the entrance.
Due to the slight distance, Rex could not hear what they were talking about. He tilted his head and turned his ears in the direction of the guards, and listened intermittently to one of them about his wife having a baby.
"How?" asked Barbas.
"Old rules!" Rex beckoned.
"Understood!"
"Need help?"
"No, you just have to watch!" Barbas flew towards the guards at the entrance of the cave like an arrow off the string. By the light they finally spotted him, and screamed, "Ah!
Two guards raised their swords and prepared to attack. Babas jumped and pounced on one, and his head was bitten off in three or two clicks. Another guard with a barbed mace tried to attack Barbas from behind.
"Not good!" Rex realized the danger of the situation, and he rushed towards it with a dash. As he approached the guard, he drew the Nightingale Blade from his waist and swung it hard at the guard's neck. The tigerman's head spun like a kicked ball into the air, and finally hit the wall and was bounced off, blood splattering everywhere.
The sound of the fight alarmed the attention of the people inside, and three more armored guys roared and rushed out. Although they staggered, they dodged left and right. Barbas and Rex were back-to-back and ready to fight. Suddenly, a sharp arrow flew over, brushed against Rex's cheek, and shot deep into the wall behind it.
Rex was taken aback, "They have bows and arrows?"
"It's a little dark inside the room, I didn't see it clearly. But there are archers!" said Barbas.
"Oh, we're going to watch out for cold arrows. ”
"Don't worry, I'll take care of him!" Barbas grinned.
"Okay, I'll deal with the remaining two. ”
"That's it. ”
The two high-fived each other in encouragement. Rex roared with his dagger in his hand, swinging his sword at the guards who rushed at the front. His body was split in half, with a shield on his left and a sword on his right, and he ran forward for a mile before falling.
Babas bypassed the second guard and went straight to the archers at the rear. When the guard saw that his companion had been killed, he immediately lost his mighty momentum, and he was a little afraid to come up. Rex walked over to the guards with a bloody sword.
They continued their way through the dimly lit passages, discovering oak barrels and torture instruments along the way. In one of the secret rooms, they found the corpse of a Nord woman, fair-skinned and radiant, but with a sad expression, lying bent on her legs in a messy hay shop, revealing half of her corrupted face.
In another secret room, they were shocked to see what they saw. Rex could barely believe his eyes, but he was overwhelmed with grief by the facts in front of him. They saw a familiar figure, Sereditiel's hands tied and hung from the wall, his eyes brutally gouged out, blood frozen on his face.
It was clear that his body had been tortured too much and had become weak. Seredith's head drooped downward, like a dead corpse.
"It's him!" Barbas shouted.
The two walked briskly into the room, Rex holding Sereditiel's shoulder and calling his name, and Barbas calling out to him, trying to wake him up.
After a long time, Seredith finally regained consciousness. He said weakly, "Ah, it's you, it's finally here!" and a smile of relief appeared on his face.
