Chapter 18, Three Treatises

Wei Wencheng closed the last page of "Hundred Treatises", raised his head and looked out of the grass house, only to see that the morning sun was like fire, and the sky was already bright. Pen ~ fun ~ pavilion www.biquge.info he couldn't help but sigh softly, and couldn't help but wonder if it was a big mistake for him to throw himself into the arms of the Shi family this time......

I wanted to pack up that day, leave the forest house, and go to Guangfuan, but there were still some expectations in my heart, as if I had transferred to a more famous school. But who expected that when he came to the nunnery and knocked on the door, the little novice came out to greet him, and at the same time told him that the monk Farang had left the nunnery.

Where did the monk Farrang go? The little novice handed over a letter, and Wei Wencheng opened it and looked at it, which roughly meant: The emperor has summoned me, and I am going to Jiankang.

Emperor Chen Wu Chen Baxian didn't know where he heard about the reputation of Monk Falang, and specially sent an envoy to summon him to the capital, enter the Xinghuang Temple, and preach the teachings of his empty sect. Fa Lang got the edict, happily set off, and left a letter to Wei Wencheng, saying that you are still shallow in Taoism, the realm is insufficient, and your heart is full of thoughts, if you go to the capital with me, you are afraid of being covered with red dust and mundane things, all kinds of shackles, and you will never have the opportunity to realize the Tao again. So I'll give you this little Guangfu Nunnery, and you can practice with it.

Wei Wencheng was stupid on the spot, and said in his heart, monk, are you playing tricks on me? Baba asked me to come over, you yourself have taken the first step, what is the point of just leaving an empty nunnery? I don't know anything about Buddhism, how can I get started without the guidance of a teacher?

As if seeing through what he was thinking, Xiao Shami immediately held a stack of books in both hands: "Family Master Yun, senior brother, but if you read this, you can get started." ”

Wei Wencheng took it and took a look, and sure enough, it was not a Buddhist scripture, but a sutra, a total of three, including Nagarjuna's "Middle Treatise", "Twelve Gates" and Deva Bodhisattva's "Hundred Treatises". "Three treatises......," he couldn't help but speculate to himself, "I've heard that there is a Three Treatises sect in the history of Buddhism, could it be that this Farang monk is from the Three Treatises?"

He was not wrong in his guess, Monk Farang was one of the forerunners of the Three Treatises that flourished during the Sui and Tang dynasties. The Three Treatises Sect is also known as the Dharma Nature Sect, it is said that the ancestor is the Later Qin Hu monk Kumaroshi, Kumarosh first translated the Three Treatises, advocating Nagarjuna, Deva said, later passed on Sangzhao, Sangzhao passed on Sanglang, Sanglang passed on Sanglang, Sangha interpreted Falang...... This Fa Lang was once known as the "Four Friends" of the Sangquan Sect together with the three people of Zhiwen, Hui Yong, and Hui Bu, and was called "Comprehension Debate", "Article Yong", "Proud Bu" and "Fu Hu Lang".

To put it bluntly, Fa Lang is indeed a contemporary monk, and his name will remain in the history of Chinese Buddhism forever - of course, Wei Wencheng was not very interested in Buddhism in his previous life, so he did not hear of it.

At that time, he was still pondering, the Buddhist scriptures are difficult to understand, and the scriptures may be a little simpler, anyway, he has already left the forest house view, and the good horse does not eat the grass to turn back, and it is impossible to beg and return to the door wall, so it is better to live in the Guangfu Nunnery for the time being and learn these three theories. But when he settled down and opened the book, he realized that I was so hard to understand by relying on this thing!

Although the influence and penetration of Buddhism on Chinese culture is more advanced than Taoism, even in Wei Wencheng's previous life, there were more people in society who believed in Buddhism than in Taoism - Christianity or anything for the time being. In his previous life, he had gone through nine years of compulsory education and could pass the language class, and he was barely able to get started in ancient literature, and Wei Wencheng's level in this area was a little stronger than that of ordinary people; Problem: Buddhism is a foreign religion after all, and many of the concepts it preaches do not exist in China at all, and it is forced to create nouns, and even create many mysterious and mysterious terms, which is not something that ordinary readers can understand.

In Wei Wencheng's previous life, it cannot be said that he had not been exposed to Buddhist thought and Buddhist vocabulary at all, but basically they were all big road goods, such as "color and emptiness", "wind moving heart", "Bodhi mirror" or something.

"Neither bego nor perish, neither constant nor continuous, neither one nor the other, neither come nor come out. It can be said that it is karma, good at destroying all dramas, I bow to the Buddha, the first among all theories.

Answer: Some people say that all things are born from great freedom, from Wein, from harmony, from time, from worldly nature, from change, from nature, from the dust, and so on, so they fall into the wrong view of no cause, evil cause, and ...... of permanence."

What do you mean by "uncaused, evil, and unusual"? What is "Great Freedom Heaven" and "Venus Heaven"? I've heard of Wei Tuo......

Fortunately, the monk Farang also left a small novice, who was enlightened, and he was able to vaguely explain some proper nouns commonly used in Buddhism to Wei Wencheng. In this way, Wei Wencheng tightened his teeth and read through the three treatises, only to feel that the time and energy spent was more than three times more than that of reading Taoist classics.

Finally, I read through the three theories, closed the book, recalled the meaning of the theory, and deleted the redundancy. These three words seem ordinary, but in fact they are all-encompassing, and I feel that if you can't think about everything, you won't be able to comprehend emptiness after all. It's like Taoism talks about returning to simplicity and returning to the basics, but if you don't first study the origin of all things, you won't be able to find the "simplicity" and "truth" at all, so how can you talk about returning to the truth? The problem is that the origin of all things has to be deduced from the infinite appearance of everything in this world......

That's why some people say that it is difficult to become a Buddha in this lifetime, and you have to go through countless reincarnations and survive the "three great tribulations" before you can truly become enlightened...... If I am sure that there is no drama in this life, then what am I still doing to practice Buddhism?

He hummed and threw down his books, pushed open the door, and stepped out. Xiao Shami was watering vegetables in the yard, and when he saw Wei Wencheng, he put down the gourd scoop in his hand and saluted. Wei Wencheng arched his hand, returned the favor with a common courtesy, and then walked towards the outside of the nunnery with his neck. The little novice asked Senior Brother where are you going? Wei Wencheng replied casually: "Go out and relax." ”

During this time, he held back in Guangfu Nunnery and read through the three treatises, feeling that his whole head was frozen, and people were about to become moldy...... Seeing that the weather is good today, let's go to Taihu Lake for a casual walk, move my muscles and bones, and relieve my depression.

When I arrived at the lake, I suddenly thought that I came out of the forest house to drill the cave for help, and after passing through a fork in the road, there seemed to be something in it that attracted me, which was a bit strange, so I might as well try to see what was in the cave today.

Looking up at the Taihu Lake, I saw that between the clouds and water, there were many fishing boats coming and going, treading the waves - the monsters in the lake have been suppressed, and the fishermen are no longer afraid of being shipwrecked. Wei Wencheng beckoned the nearest fishing boat to come over, and bowed deeply to the fisherman on the boat: "Please cross my West Mountain." ”

The fisherman waved his hand: "This is a fishing boat, not a ferry." ”

Wei Wencheng said with a smile: "There are boats on the left and right, fishing boats can be crossed, and ferries can be fished, what's the difference?"

The fisherman looked him up and down a few times: "Sir, you have nothing to do?"

Wei Wencheng said, I am not only a scholar, but also a monk - "See Guangfu Nunnery and learn Buddhism from Master Falang." The fisherman hurriedly asked, "Do you have to suppress the monk Farang?" Wei Wencheng said exactly.

The fisherman said that if you are really a disciple of the monk Farang, I will take you on a trip, for fear that you are a fake-"Since you are called a student of Buddhism, you should be able to preach the scriptures, but you can talk to me." ”

Wei Wencheng smiled secretly in his heart, although he only read through the three treatises, and had not carefully pondered it, and could not get started, but it was not difficult to deceive the countryside and ordinary people, and immediately recited several pairs of verses in the "Treatise on the Middle Theory": "Because it is the law that produces the fruit, and the name of the law is the fate, if the fruit is not born, why not the name is not the fate; the fruit precedes the fate, there is no need, there is no fate first, what is the use of the fate first......

The fisherman said okay, I didn't understand it at all...... But it's like that, I'll trust you - immediately invite Wei Wencheng on the boat. On the water, the two talked about it, although Wei Wencheng couldn't make sense of Buddhism, after all, he was a human being in two lives, and his social experience was much richer than that of this fisherman.

The time is not long, and he arrived at Xishan Island, Wei Wencheng said goodbye to the fisherman, landed on the boat, and when he didn't travel long, he found the cave mouth that was drilled out for help in the long grass. He was about to step inside, but suddenly he felt an invisible barrier surging out in front of him, and the sound of "bang" hit his nose.

After looking closely, I saw a talisman pasted at the entrance of the cave, and I didn't know what was written in cinnabar on it. Wei Wencheng thought to himself, yes, this cave is the property of the forest house view, and it is easy to refuse to let people in, and the other end is not far from the entrance of the temple, and there are often Taoist children on guard - except for the time when the masters were captured and captured, half dead and half dead, and the Taoist children all retracted into the temple and did not dare to show their faces - then this exit here should theoretically also be banned.

What should I do? Obviously, I can't break this ban, so why don't I go back to the temple and ask Xu Huanpu for advice? I am no longer a Taoist priest in the Linwu Temple, how can they let myself in? Crossing the Taihu Lake and returning to Guangfu Nunnery? Didn't this trip run in vain? I wanted to distract myself, but I ended up being even more depressed......

I couldn't help but think of the sentences in the Three Treatises. According to the theory of this school, all dharmas are empty, and everything is only born of "dependent arising", that is, the product of the entanglement of many factors and conditions, and emptiness is not relative to existence, but emptiness is the nature of existence...... Probably the meaning, there is no eternal and unchanging thing in the world, so there is no truth, everything is empty as its nature, this world is empty, he Wei Wencheng is empty, the cave in front of him is also empty, and the talisman prohibition is also empty......

In fact, if I say this, it means that I didn't say it, but in the final analysis, as long as all obstacles are broken, and all difficulties are naturally not invaded, then if I recite those verses and have such thoughts in my heart, there should be no obstacles, and with the principles of Buddhism, can I break the Taoist talisman? Thinking of this, Wei Wencheng immediately clasped his hands together, closed his eyes, muttered in his mouth, and then tried to take a step forward-

"Bang", it hit again.

No, I still can't get the forbidden thoughts out of my mind completely, I can't recite it, why don't I think of something else--why do you think I crossed over? This world seems to be consistent with the history of my original world, but there are so many gods and ghosts, how do you know that it is not a big dream? And my life is also a big dream, once I wake up from a dream, everything in this world is not empty but empty. If we can really attain the right results, I don't know what kind of situation the heavens are, are there really immortals, are there Buddhas? Immortals of different religions living together in the same realm is really a strange thing, and the reason doesn't make sense at all, unless it is originally emptiness, emptiness and dharma nature......

Oh, where did I think of this? Wei Wencheng suddenly opened his eyes, hey, Lao Tzu really came in!

Sure enough, this Buddhist method is stronger than Taoism, I don't know if in the sky, the Buddha is pressing the Jade Emperor to fight?
