Chapter 224: It's a Dead Sound
"About Erquan,"
"Erquan does have this place, Huishan in Wuxi, the trees are verdant, and the vines are swaying. There is a clear spring at the foot of the www.biquge.info Mountain, which is known as the 'second spring in the world'!"
"So, is Yan the Mr. Yan or the author?" the big guy asked suddenly.
"Neither. The young man in white said.
"Yes. "The big guy thinks it's strange. "And what's that author's name?"
"Call him Ah Bing," the young man in white sighed. "It's a blind man. β
Blind?
Everyone's hearts were in shock.
"Mr. A Bing was born next to the Leizun Hall in Wuxi, and his father Hua Qinghe. Mother Qin was born in a peasant family, married to the Qin family, widowed soon after marriage, and the union with Hua Qinghe was scolded by the clansmen, and died of depression a year after Mr. A Bing was born. β
A Bing was born by his father to be sent to Wuxi County Dongting Town, Xiaosifang Lane hometown to raise the people, 8 years old after the age of 8 brought back to the Taoist Temple, the scientific name Hua Yanjun, nicknamed A Bing, and was sent to a private school to study. β
"Hua Qinghe is proficient in various musical instruments and Taoist music. When he was 10 years old, his father taught him to simulate drumming and practice various rhythms.
"When he was 12 years old, Ah Ping began to learn to play the flute, and his father often asked him to blow in the wind, and hung an iron ring on the tail of the flute to enhance his wrist strength.
When Ah Bing was learning the erhu, he worked harder, the strings were strangled with blood, and his fingers were also pulled out of thick calluses, and the outer strings of the erhu that Ah Bing played were much thicker than ordinary strings, which was inseparable from his perennial practice. β
"At the age of 17, Ah Bing officially participated in Taoist music playing, he looked like a talent, and a good voice, and was known as the 'Little Heavenly Master'. β
In 1914, Hua Qinghe died, and Mr. A Bing became the head Taoist priest of the Lei Zun Palace, and took turns with his cousin Hua Boyang to take charge of the incense income of the Lei Zun Palace. Later, due to poor management, Mr. Ah Ping contracted bad habits again, and his life gradually deteriorated, and when he was 34 years old, he lost his sight one after another, and because of the pressure of life, he wandered the streets and made a living as an artist. β
"There are many sayings about the song "Erquan Reflecting the Moon":"
One year on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Xiao Ah Bing followed the master to the spring to admire the moon. The moonlight on the water was like silver, and the Master quietly listened to the sound of the spring. Suddenly, he asked Xiao Ah Bing, "What sound did you hear?" Xiao Ah Bing shook his head, because he didn't hear anything except the gurgling water. Master said, "You are still young, but when you grow up, you will hear many wonderful sounds from the flowing water of the Second Spring. Xiao Ah Bing looked at his master's weathered face and nodded sensibly.
More than ten years have passed, the master has long passed away, and Ah Ping has also lost his sight due to an eye disease. He wears sunglasses all day long, plays the huqin, and sells his art to make a living. However, the poverty of life and the torture of illness cannot extinguish Ah Bing's love for music and yearning for light. How he wished that one day he would be able to live a stable and happy life!
It was another Mid-Autumn Festival night, and Ah Bing, with the support of the boy next door, came to Erquan. The moonlight was like water, and the shadow was still deep, but Ah Bing could no longer see it. Only the sound of the murmuring water lingered in his ears. He remembered what Master had said, and thought of his own rough experience. Gradually, gradually, he seemed to hear deep sighs, sad weeping, angry outpourings, stubborn cries......
Listen, listen, Ah Bing's heart trembled. He couldn't help but pick up the erhu, and he wanted to pour out his long-accumulated feelings to this vast moonlit night through the sound of the piano. His fingers kept sliding over the strings, and the flowing water and moonlight turned into moving notes, pouring out of the strings. At first, the sound of the piano was euphemistic and continuous, like a mountain spring winding from a deep valley, flowing slowly. This seems to be Ah Bing admiring the beautiful scenery of the two springs of Huishan, remembering the master who has been so kind to him, and thinking about the life path he has walked. As the melody rises and falls, step by step, the music enters the climax. With its unstoppable power, it expresses the struggle against fate and the infinite yearning for a better future. The moonlight illuminates the water, the water waves reflect the moon, and the music echoes on the side of the Erquan Pond for a long time, soothing and undulating, quiet and agitated. Ah Bing used this touching sound of the piano to tell people that he loved the music that supported him through his life of suffering, he loved the beautiful and rich hometown, he loved the clear spring of Nahui Mountain, and he loved the moonlight that shone on the clear spring......
According to the memories of Ah Bing's relatives, friends and neighbors, Ah Bing's performance is still a day when the two springs reflect the moon and no food and clothing, and when he returns to the alley late at night, he often plays this song, which is sad and sad, and is particularly moving.
Mr. A Bing's friend Lu Xu once described the scene when Mr. A Bing played "Erquan Reflecting the Moon": "The snow fell like goose feathers, and the park opposite the gate was covered with rubble and jade, piled up beyond recognition. The desolate and mournful erhu sound came from the streets...... I saw an unkempt old woman leading a blind man with a small bamboo pole on the park road from east to west, and in the dim light, I vaguely recognized it as Ah Bing and his wife. Ah Bing held a small bamboo pole between his right flank, a handful of pipa on his back, and an erhu hanging on his left shoulder, babbling and whining, making a terrible sound in the crazy snow. β
Someone once said: "The elegant name of "Erquan Reflecting the Moon" is actually contradictory to his music. It is not so much that the music describes the scenery of Erquan reflecting the moon, but rather that it profoundly expresses the painful life experience of the blind man Ah Bing. β
"This is Erquan Yingyue?" said the big guy.
The tone was a little sad.
"Yes. The young man in white nodded.
"I never knew there was such a song in the world!" said a scholar burst into tears.
"Gai Xibo detained and performed "Zhou Yi"; Zhong Ni'er composed "Spring and Autumn"; Qu Yuan was exiled and was given "Lisao"; Zuoqiu was blind and had "Chinese"; Sun Tzu was bare and "The Art of War" was revised; Buwei moved to Shu, and the hereditary "LΓΌ Lan" was handed down; Han Fei imprisoned Qin, "Difficult to Say" and "Lonely Anger", ...... The heavens will descend on the Si people, and they can sing for the ages!"
β......β
"Technically, how is it better than the one just now?" asked the big guy. "Emotions are exaggerated to the extreme. β
Following the long and small introduction, the melody rises from the Shang sound to the corner, and then stops for a while on the sign and horn sound, ending with the palace sound, which is a microwave-shaped melody line, just like the author sitting by the spring and contemplating the past. β
The second phrase is only two bars and appears six times in the whole piece. It begins on the octave higher at the end of the first phrase. Circling up and down around Gongyin, breaking the silence in front of him, he began to rise high, revealing the author's infinite emotion. (To be continued.) )
