Chapter Ninety-Nine: The Plague Spreads
A mysterious cult called the Cult of the Cursed God has quietly sprung up in the Eastern Kingdoms continent. The members of this group are all dressed in black robes, with two inverted cones of black eyeshadow painted under their eyes. These people preached that if they believed in their master, they would have eternal life and great power. Coupled with the spirit whispers of the Lich King, many strong people responded for a while and joined this cursed sect.
Their lair is located in Lordaeron's county, in Keldaron, an island in the middle of a lake, connected only by a stone bridge. It is also the fief of the Barov family, the first powerful nobleman of the former Alterac Kingdom, and is their core city. Now that the Barov family has all joined the Cursed Sect, it is natural that they have contributed the city with respect. In the center of the city is the large castle of the Barov family, now known as the Psychic Academy, where the top leaders of the Cursed Sect gathered.
The Cult of the Damned's sphere of influence swept across the entire Eastern Kingdom continent, but was blocked for the first time when it extended its tentacles into the Southern Alliance's Stormwind Kingdom.
The Truth Holy Sect Army didn't care about the three-seven-twenty-one, and directly set off a large-scale raid within the entire alliance again. With the oracle issued by Lord Divine Venerable: Anyone who reports a cursed cultist can be rewarded with ten gold coins, and the higher the level, the higher the reward!
So the Confederate Confederate became the graveyard of the Cursed Sect, where their missionaries were caught in the sea of the People's War. Especially in Stormwind, people are looking around with red eyes for the Cursed Cultists and those who dare to shield them. The Holy Cult wandered the streets, occasionally being stopped by some of the inhabitants sneakily calling them out, and then pulling them to the suspicious places they had discovered.
The Northern Alliance also ridiculed this: they called the Southern Union's restriction of people's freedom of belief barbaric. This is in the name of the god of magic to achieve his own savage purposes!
King Ryan was saddened by this, and shouted loudly, Isn't this Nima what I did well? Obviously it was ordered by the gods themselves! Don't you dare to provoke the gods, so you will use me to make fun of me?
However, the Confederate did not retaliate very unexpectedly, and began to desperately hoard large quantities of food, and cut off all trade with the North for food and water.
The dwarves of Ironforge and the gnomes who had just reclaimed their city, Nomorigen, of course, followed immediately. As hardcore friends of the Stormwind Kingdom, their diplomatic strategies are to follow Stormwind City and advance and retreat together.
The Hammer Dwarves of Eagle's Nest were even more intense, not only cutting off all trade with the Northern Alliance, but also starting to build large checkpoints and fortresses on the main roads leading to the outside world in the Hinterland region, as if they were going to turn the entire Hinterland region into an iron barrel. To this end, they also applied for a large interest-free loan and engineering team from the Night Elves, the largest dog owner in the Alliance, to build strongholds and purchase dwarven steam-powered armor.
The Night Elves, a big dog man, approved the loan application very happily, as if they were in a race against something, and within a few days the engineering team came to Hinterland to assist the Hammer Dwarves in the construction.
Quel'Thalas also smelled something amiss, though the Silvermoon Court was very suspicious that it was bad water from the Night Elves trying to swallow them up again. But now that the entire alliance was desperately preparing, the Sun King decided to strengthen the walls of Quel'Thalas and double the number of Frontier Runestones. As for the food trade with the Northern Alliance, this is a trivial matter, and it was stopped directly.
Soon, the countries of the Northern Alliance, full of doubts about this, knew the reason.
The second largest city in Lordaeron, the area around Stratholme City, among the small towns.
A strange plague is spreading, and infected humans will go through the journey from onset to death in a very rapid process. But what's even more terrifying is that these dead humans are not over, they are back on their feet, and they are rotting zombies or skeletons. The number of these undead is increasing rapidly, and now the entire region has been turned into a plague land, except for Stratholme, whose gates have been closed.
The prince of Arthas was in great pain, and he watched his people die tragically, and then the disgusting undead got back on their feet and began to attack anyone who was living in a frenzy. But there is nothing he can do, his light cannot save everyone!
Together with his teacher Uther*Lightbringer and the mage Gianna, he leads an army through the plague lands, futilely scavenging the undead.
Now he had learned that the former Archmage Kel'thugad and his Cult of the Damned were responsible for all of this! After a period of hiding and lurking, they had finally torn off their disguises and begun their plans. Truckloads of food infected with the plague were transported everywhere, and water sources were planted with the seeds of the plague. They do want to give people eternal life, but only in the form of the dead!
But Kel'thugad did not run away, as if he was waiting for his own death. When Arthas angrily plunged his sword into his chest, he smiled instead.
"Prince Arthas, your destiny is about to begin, and I will wait for the moment when you will summon me again. The former archmage fell down laughing, his last words causing a deep sense of doubt and unease in Arthas's heart.
This was followed by a long period of running and purging.
The people of Lordaeron are dying and falling.
Alsace desperately wanted to save more people.
He rescued a small group of surviving villagers in a small village, and a little boy named Timmy looked at his prince with reverence and asked, "Your Royal Highness, will you always protect us?"
Arthas smiled with relief and amusement as he crouched down and touched Timmy's head. "Of course, I will always protect my people. ”
In the distance, another small village called Talongshire was in ruins, and there were no survivors.
Inside the ruined house, a bright ghost suddenly appeared, as if she couldn't see her body still hot, and she didn't understand the mysterious voice in her head, the Lich King's control didn't work on her.
Pamela looked puzzled as she stepped out of the house and looked at the ruined village around her. Where have all the people gone? What about Mom and Dad? and... What about my doll?
Suddenly, a group of terrible monsters ran in the distance, and Pamela immediately hid in terror into the house, huddled in a dark corner, shivering.
The ghouls wandered aimlessly, noticing the breath of the living, and roared in disappointment before leaving again.
Who's going to save me!
Pamela was so frightened that she didn't realize that she couldn't shed tears.
