World Natural Heritage: South China Karst

(1) Karst

"South China Karst" is a world natural heritage of China, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007 and added in 2014, and is now composed of seven karst landforms in Yunnan Stone Forest, Guizhou Libo, Chongqing Wulong, Guangxi Guilin, Guizhou Shibing, Chongqing Jinfoshan and Guangxi Huanjiang. Among them, Yunnan Stone Forest, Guizhou Libo and Chongqing Wulong formed the first phase of the "South China Karst", which was declared and unanimously selected as a World Natural Heritage Site at the 31st session of the World Heritage Committee on June 27, 2007, and the "South China Karst Phase II" project formed by Guilin in Guangxi, Shibing in Guizhou, Jinfo Mountain in Chongqing and Huanjiang in Guangxi Province, which was selected as a World Natural Heritage Site in the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee on June 23, 2014, as an extension of the "South China Karst".

"South China Karst" has the most significant karst landforms (such as minaret-shaped and cone-shaped karst) and majestic and peculiar karst landscapes such as Tiansheng Bridge and Tiankeng, and is one of the most spectacular tropical to subtropical karst landforms in the world.
