Chapter Thirty-Eight: The Murder of Bo Yi Kao

When Ji Chang was imprisoned in Jinli, Ji Chang's ministers San Yisheng and Hong Yao summoned him after hearing Jiang Ziya's name for a long time. Jiang Ziya also thinks, "I heard that Ji Chang is virtuous and virtuous, and he has always respected and cared for the elderly, why don't you go?" In order to rescue Ji Chang, these three people looked for beautiful treasures and dedicated them to King Su to redeem Ji Chang. Ji Chang was thus released and returned to Zhou. Although the legends of Jiang Ziya's return to Zhou are different, the general edict believes that he is the teacher of Ji Chang and Ji Fa.

And in the year that Ji Chang was under house arrest, Jiang Ziya also fled from Chaoge because he offended Di Xin and went fishing in Panxi Gorge on the bank of Weishui.

The ministers of Zhou came to the court every year to beg Di Xin to release Ji Chang, but Di Xin did not let Ji Chang go in the name of entertaining Ji Chang, and six years passed like this.

In the twenty-ninth year of Emperor Xin (BC1073), the minister of the Zhou State, San Yisheng, first bought the Suyu, Jisizhicheng, Lirong Wenma, Youxiong Jiusi and Youxin beauties at a high price, and after preparing so many gifts, he inquired about Fei Zhong and Daji's door, and prepared to save the country.

This is much more certain than directly pleading with Di Xin in the past. Therefore, the whole Zhou State had confidence in this trip, and the eldest son of Ji Changyan, who was originally staying in the Zhou State, Bo Yi Kao, personally went out and came to Chaoge Jin with San Yisheng. Even Bo Yi Kao had already made up his mind, in exchange for Ji Chang's return to China, and in order to reassure Di Xin, he was ready to take himself as a hostage, in order to show that Zhou Guo would never betray the merchant.

See to the king. Finally found the key, bribed Emperor Xin's favorite minister Fei Zhong with a lot of money, and offered treasures to Daji, asking Daji to intercede.

Bo Yi Kao, Ji surname, name Kao, "Bo" is its rank, "Yi" is said to indicate his identity as a son, and one is said to be the official position of "Yi", so it is called Bo Yi Kao. Ji Chang was born when he was thirteen years old (BC1139-BC1073). The eldest son of King Ji Chang of Zhou Wen, and the half-brother of King Ji Fa of Zhou Wu.

Bo Yi Kao's mother's name is Tai Ji, surnamed Ji, is the daughter of the Youxin tribe from the emperor, it can be said that she was born in ancient nobility and is the wife of Ji Chang. Taiji is hardworking and abides by women's morals, so she is known as the mother of Wen.

Taiji and King Wen of Zhou had ten sons, in order of the eldest son Bo Yi Kao, the second son Zhou Wu Wang Jifa, the third son Guan Shuxian, the fourth son Zhou Gongdan, the fifth son Cai Shudu, the sixth son Cao Shu Zhenduo, the seventh son Yu Shuwu, the eighth son Huo Shuchu, the ninth son Kang Shufeng, and the tenth son Ran Jizai.

According to the "Da Dai Li" quoted in "Mao's Poetry Justice", when King Wen of Zhou (Ji Chang) was thirteen years old, he gave birth to his eldest son Bo Yi Kao, and when he was fifteen years old, he gave birth to his second son, King Wu of Zhou. The ten brothers of Bo Yi Kao have been deeply taught by their mother since they were young, so they have never done anything contrary to common sense or absurdity since they were young. Bo Yi Kao, Ji Fa, and Zhou Gongdan are highly virtuous and talented, and they are the right-hand men who assisted Ji Chang, and during Ji Chang's house arrest, Bo Yi Kao stayed behind and acted as the government of the Zhou State, while Ji Fa and Zhou Gongdan effectively assisted Bo Yi Kao.

By bribing Fei Zhong and Daji with a lot of money, Bo Yi Kao got the opportunity to meet Di Xin and explained his intention to be a hostage. In "The Romance of the Gods", it is said that Bo Yi Kao was favored by Da Ji, and he was not killed by Da Ji, but in fact, Ji Chang was thirteen years old and Bo Yi Kao, Ji Chang was 79 years old at the time, and Bo Yi Kao was also 66 years old.

Di Xin basically agreed to this exchange of hostages, and said that he would consider it, and first stay in Boyi to take the post of driving for Di Xin.

Di Xin began to consult the ministers, and the uncles and brothers of the kings, such as Jizi, Bigan, and Weizi, all agreed to release Ji Chang, but only Fei Zhong accepted the gift, but did not speak from Ji Chang's position, but mentioned a rumor: I heard that Xibohou's divination is very effective, and people say that he is a saint in the world, and he is still studying gossip in Jinli, has he already calculated that he is absolutely safe and sound?

Di Xin originally didn't take Ji Chang in his eyes, and said, "How is it possible? He is not an immortal!"

Di Xin thought that if Ji Chang was really so miraculous, it must be Shang's henchman, and he had to cut the grass and eradicate the roots.

He asked the ministers to disperse, and called Fei Zhong, Evil Lai and other henchmen separately to discuss how to determine whether Ji Chang really passed the divination and knew things like a god.

Fei Zhong offered a poisonous plan: "As the saying goes: tiger poison does not eat children." If Ji Chang happily eats the soup, it means that he does not know that it is made of his son's meat, and we can safely release him back to China, only saying that Bo Yi Kao died of a sudden illness, and there is no proof of death, and he has nothing to say; if Ji Chang refuses to eat or eats very reluctantly, it means that he knows that it is made of his son's meat, and he must have a grudge against the king at that time, and he must not let the tiger return to the mountain. ”

Di Xin was very satisfied, so he cooked and killed Bo Yi Kao, made him into meat soup and gave it to Ji Chang, and sent eunuchs to monitor and watch Ji Chang eat meat soup.

Ji Chang had already learned from the hexagram that his beloved son had been robbed, but he accepted the meat soup rewarded by Di Xin in fear, chewed it slowly, and there was no scum left. Let Di Xin think that Ji Chang's divination was just because of this, so the king let him go.

The eunuch reported back to Di Xin, and Di Xin commented: "Who said that Xi Bohou is a saint? After eating the meat soup made by his own son without knowing it, he has just gained a false reputation, and a god stick who pretends to be a god and a ghost has actually gained a great reputation, which is really amazing!"

Di Xin summoned San Yisheng and asked San Yisheng to present the prepared gifts, although San Yisheng was very anxious to find Bo Yi Kao, but he still hurriedly presented the gifts. San Yisheng offered the Su Yu, the Chicken Si Ride, the Lirong Wen Horse, the Nine Bears and the Xin Beauty.
