Chapter 54: The Choice of the Month
Weasley and Thomas followed.
Tom pushed his way through the crowd and ran all the way.
Unfortunately, the man had short calves, and when he saw that he was about to be overtaken by the two, a tender hand suddenly stretched out in the air and led him into a secret passage that Tom had never entered.
He covered his mouth to keep his gasps from leaking out, and listened carefully to the movement in the corridor outside the secret passage.
"Where did he go?"
Tom asked angrily when he heard Thomas stop nearby.
"In the blink of an eye, the person is gone. Hmph, there are really two brushes. Weasley said angrily, "Forget it, we'll get around him this time." The next time he messes with us again, it's too late for us to clean him up. β
The two Gryffindors circled around for a moment before leaving.
Tom heard their footsteps drift away, let go of the hand covering his mouth, and gasped for air.
Only then did he have the energy to see who had helped him get out of his predicament.
In the darkness, the dim light faintly illuminated a slender figure standing quietly, half-length hair thinly draped over his shoulders, and two tiny braids could be distinguished even in the dark.
"Mia Campbell?" said Tom, surprised and confused.
Usually I don't have any friendship with her, at most it's just a nodding friend.
Although Mia Campbell helped when she was pestered by Natalia Beauva, this time the help was not too timely.
Moreover, she is a Gryffindor, so it stands to reason that it would be good to be a cold eyewitness at this time, and she would even help herself - based on Tom's two-month experience at Hogwarts, the relationship between Gryffindor and Slytherin can be said to be a bit bad.
"Just call me Mia. Just like Mia's appearance, her voice was cold and cold, "What you want has appeared." β
Mia turned her head away, opened the door of the secret passage, and glanced faintly at the corridor outside the secret passage.
Tom noticed that as the light shone on Mia's face, her brown pupils instantly shrank into the shape of a thin needle, and then immediately recovered.
"What?" Tom's heart tightened, and he always felt that Mia had something to say.
Mia looked back at Tom and closed the door to the secret passage.
"Kuro cards. Mia said.
A great panic enveloped Tom.
He felt like he was frozen in cold ice, and his head stopped working all at once.
The passage suddenly became unusually quiet.
"Heyβ"
Mia sighed softly and stepped forward to pat Tom on the shoulder: "You don't have to be so afraid, I already knew your identity." β
......
With Mia's explanation, Tom finally regained his composure.
It turned out that, like Korubelos, Moon who was guarding the Kuro card woke up one step earlier than Korubelos.
He sensed that the power of the sealed Kulo cards was waning, so he decided to find a suitable Kuro mage to inherit Kulo Reed's will.
When he finally found the perfect candidate for him, Mia Campbell, the two returned to the place where the Kuro cards were kept, only to find that the Kuro cards were gone.
It took nearly half a year for the month to finally find out that the Kuro cards were under the toss, and finally the bookstore owner gave Tom as a gift.
He had tried Tom's house, but for some reason, Tom's house seemed unremarkable, and he couldn't get in, let alone summon the Kuro card.
Later, Mia receives a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
After Yue learns that Tom is also a student of Hogwarts, he tells Mia to pay more attention to Tom's movements, and if necessary, to get the Kuro card back - you know, Mia is the heir to the Kuro card that Moon recognizes, and Tom is just a frizzy stinky boy.
"But why didn't I see you when the Kuro card came up before?" asked Tom, confused.
"I'm here. Mia said softly, "I've been there all along, but you haven't noticed." β
"That'sβ"
"I've seen the Korubelos that Yue said, it's the Koru who followed you, right?" Mia smiled, revealing two cute little tiger teeth, "As for why I didn't grab the Kulo card with you......"
Mia spread her palms, and her wand lay quietly in the palm of her hand.
"I'm not good enough, and the magic I've learned can't fully cope with the Kulo cards that appear, and I'm far from your opponent who already has a few Kulo cards. She put her wand away, "As for why you helpβ"
Mia opened the door to the secret passage, got up and walked out.
As she was about to leave, she looked back and smiled, "Because you're cute." β
Tom watched Mia go away in a daze, and couldn't come back to his senses for a while.
Tonight, he was hit a little harder.
The month that Kubernetes had been worried about before, now there is news.
Another alternate owner of the Kuro card also appeared in front of him.
And inexplicably, this alternative competitor actually thinks he is cute and helps himself-
Tom's face "banged" and turned completely red.
Who is cute! This Mia looks very reliable, why does she talk so thoughtlessly!
He patted his cheek, trying to cool down the temperature on his face.
Despite Mia's friendly attitude, Tom is still unsure if he can trust her.
With a heavy heart, Tom crawled out of the secret passage.
There was no one in the hallway anymore, and only a few students were hurrying along the stairs.
Tom glanced at the time and saw that it was almost curfew.
He stood there and thought about it, it was obviously too late to go to the owl hut at this time, and it was not a wise move to go to the Kurot cards against the curfew-
He remembered what Professor Snape had said after his confinement ended, "I'll keep an eye on you, Mr. Cooper."
The grim expression and cold words made Tom shiver.
He'd better go back to his bedroom!
Tom lifted his feet and joined the crowd hurrying back.
The castle gradually faded into darkness, Tom's footsteps gradually accelerated, "click, click, click", the students slowly decreased, and the empty castle echoed with slightly messy footsteps.
"Whoosh-"
A swift black shadow flashed in front of Tom.
Tom paused slightly, but quickly regained his speed.
"Although there is more of Mia as a competitor now," Tom thought as he walked briskly, "but the Kuro cards didn't just start to appear in the castle today, and Mia didn't make a move before, so I don't think I'm in a hurry now." Why should I annoy Professor Snape in a hurry?"
