Chapter 26: Reality is always so skinny
The corners of Tom's mouth twitched, and he looked at Harry with a complete expression of hatred.
With such an obvious change in expression, why couldn't Harry see it?
Just as tension was raging between the two houses, the tall Hagrid came with his huge hound in tow.
"Good morning!" Hagrid said, smiling at Harry, "I don't think you'll want to miss this - the snail!"
Everyone in Slytherin frowned in unison.
A Gryffindor girl screamed disgusting as she jumped away from Hagrid.
Several Gryffindor students who were closer to Hagrid also moved away from Hagrid.
It turned out that at Hagrid's feet, there were several large boxes containing fried snails, and the fried snails inside looked very scary.
They look like deformed, shelled lobsters, gray and slimy, with many feet sticking out horizontally and vertically, and they can't see where their heads are.
They were stacked on top of each other, writhing and crawling around, and they also emitted a strong smell of stinky fish and rotten shrimp, and even the big-hearted Gryffindor couldn't help but retch.
"Just hatched!" Hagrid said proudly, puffing out his chest, "you can raise them yourself!"
"Why should we raise them?" Malfoy said coldly, "what are you raising them for?"
Hagrid's eyes widened, as if thinking. After a few seconds, he said in a gruff voice, "That's for the next lesson, Malfoy." Just feed them today. β
Hagrid gestured to the bucket in front of them filled with ant eggs, frog liver, and emerald snakes.
"It's disgusting. Pansy Parkinson hugged Malfoy's arm, disgust written all over her face.
No one wants to reach into the bucket and grab that sticky stuff.
Hagrid looked at this and then at that in embarrassment.
Harry, who was beside Tom, seemed to want to help Hagrid regain his credibility as a professor.
Fortunately, at this time, the Gryffindor student suppressed the nausea in his heart, stepped forward and grabbed a handful of frog livers, and threw them into the box.
Reluctantly, the Slytherin students began to feed the snails as well.
Tom was reluctant to reach for the slippery stuff, but he hesitated to reach out when he saw that even Malfoy was obediently feeding the snails.
At this moment, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a yellow figure in the Forbidden Forest not far away, which seemed to be a flash of yellow, like Copperellos.
But Rubelos was playing happily, and he was going to feed these strange creatures.
Tom whispered inwardly as he threw the ant eggs into the box.
I don't know if it's his delusion, but he always feels that when he sprinkles ant eggs, there seems to be a lot less fried tail snails in the box.
At the end of the lesson, Tom and Harry sat down at the Slytherin table.
Tom looked at the sumptuous lunch on the table, and his appetite was gone.
"Why don't you eat some, Tom?" asked Harry, as he mipped on the mashed potatoes, "Although it's Professor Binns' class in the afternoon, it's better to have something to eat!"
"Is that why you've never been tall, Cooper?" Malfoy apparently heard Harry's words and looked at Tom with a sneer.
The students at the Slytherin table all chuckled under their breath.
In fact, Tom was arguably the shortest of a group of fourth-year girls right nowβthe fourth-year girls were already taller than him.
Tom's face darkened, and he silently comforted himself: "That's because you are fourteen years old, and I am only eleven." β
Thinking so, Tom obediently ate something.
In the afternoon on the history of magic, Professor Binns's class was still so boring and lethargic.
Harry sat next to Tom, his head little by little, visibly asleep.
Tom sighed and pushed Harry's head away from his shoulder, taking notes as he took notes.
Now in the entire classroom, except for Malfoy in the front row, who is still trying to listen to the lecture, only Tom is still in spirit.
There's no way around it.
For one, Tom has only been studying first-year courses for a week so far, and if he wants to keep up, he has to work harder than others.
Second, Tom was a serious and studious kid himself, and when he was a Muggle elementary, he was at the top of every subject.
It's only the first day of school, and Tom can barely keep up with the lessons, but he's still worried that he's three years less than the others, and he'll have to find a way to make up for it anyway.
"In the nineteen-fifties, a leader appeared among the pure-blood wizards...... "Professor Binns read from his textbook in his slow, lethargic tone.
Tom drew in circles in his books and decided to find an opportunity to consult with Korubelos in the evening to study the use of the "Hour" card - on the train, Harry had told Tom that Tom had spent an unforgettable time at Hogwarts for the previous years.
Tom was already suspecting that Tom, who had spent years studying at Hogwarts with Harry over the years, had used the Kuro card to go back to his old self - which would probably explain why Harry couldn't contact him during the summer vacation.
As soon as Professor Binns' class ended, the students woke up from their sleep on time.
Yawning, with some water in the corners of their eyes, they lazily cleaned up their desks and left the classroom in twos and threes.
Harry rubbed his eyes, looking like he had just woken up from a big dream. He looked around blankly, slipped his textbook into his bag in a daze, followed Tom, and stumbled back to his bedroom.
In the bedroom, Koruberos stretched and carefully flipped through the book in front of him with his paws.
"Huh, can Keru read?" Harry suddenly became energetic, and looked at Korubellos with interest as if he had discovered something new.
Tom's heart tightened, and he hurriedly stepped forward.
But Rubellos glanced at Tom without a trace, and continued to flip the book with his paws.
"Actually......" Tom panicked in his heart, for fear that Harry would see something unusual, but he still had to maintain a calm look on his face, "Actually...... Ah............h
He saw that Korubelos lightly clicked on the illustrations on the book with his paws, and a flash of inspiration flashed in his mind: "Actually, Koru just likes to read illustrations." In the past, when I read picture books, Kelu was also next to me, and I guess it was the interest I developed at that time. β
"I see. Harry nodded knowingly, reached out and touched Chromeulos' head, and got up and walked to the bathroom.
Tom and Corubelos waited quietly for the bathroom to hear the sound of water.
"You're scared the hell out of me, Rubelos. Tom sat down on the ground, "If it weren't for the speed of my head, I wouldn't know how I would have gotten over." β
