Chapter 37: The Godfather's Opening Package
"Forget it, let's go back first. Tom thought about it and decided to go with the flow.
After all, there are still professors in the castle, so there is no danger in thinking about it.
Tom selectively forgets that Moody's was "eliminated" not long ago.
Harry glanced up at Malfoy and stood up.
Tom got up, but he squatted for too long, and the blood in his legs stimulated him to take a few breaths, and his body shook so much that he was about to fall to the ground.
Harry hurriedly reached out to hold Tom.
Tom panicked, waving his hands in front of him, trying to grasp something to steady himself.
Just when Tom felt that he could no longer control his body, a pair of strong hands behind his back held him.
"Thank you. Tom said gratefully.
Harry froze in place, winking frantically at Tom.
Tom didn't know why, but he stood up and looked back.
Malfoy stood behind him with a calm face, his hands still holding Tom's back and not letting it go.
Tom pulled the corners of his mouth in embarrassment, and seeing that Malfoy's robe and shirt were still cracked, he suddenly felt relieved, and raised his wand to Malfoy to give a "back to the original".
The torn shirt and robe returned to their full form at a speed visible to the naked eye, and even the dark lines on the robes were faintly glowing.
"This is as a reward for your help to me. Tom said, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
Malfoy's face sank suddenly.
He snorted hatefully from his nose, put his hands behind his back, and strode away.
Goyle and Crabbe hurriedly followed. Pansy Parkinson looked at Tom strangely and trotted to catch up with Malfoy.
In a few moments, the Slytherin students were gone.
"I guess I didn't do anything wrong, right?" asked Tom, inexplicably, as he pinched his still tingling legs with his hands.
Harry laughed dryly, picked up the textbook on the ground with one hand, and thoughtfully hugged Tom's arm with the other: "Who knows what happened to that young master? β
"No one can think of this, right?" Tom straightened up and moved downstairs with Harry's support, "Didn't Malfoy still look like 'don't come near me' before, maybe he was right behind me when I fell?"
"Nope. Harry's whole face wrinkled as if he had swallowed a disgusting fly, "On the contrary, I was closest to you when you fell, and Malfoy was still a few steps away. β
"What's ...... then," Tom was so shocked that his legs were no longer numb.
"Maybe he's mistaken that you made Moody disappear? You know, Moody wasn't at all popular in Slytherin. Harry saw that Tom was able to walk on his own, so he let go of his hand and touched his chin.
"So you're thanking me for breathing a sigh of relief for everyone?" Tom's cheek muscles twitched, speechless, "Then it's not his turn! β
With a wave of his hand, Tom retrieved his textbook from Harry's arms and strode towards the Slytherin common room.
Harry looked at Tom's back, his face tangled, and he stopped talking.
Eventually, he sighed, caught up with Tom, and the two of them went back to the dormitory together.
Neither Harry nor Tom noticed that in the shadows of the castle, a dark shadow "brushed" into the shadow that Harry had cast on the ground.
Early the next morning, the fourth-year Slytherin students almost all yawned into the common room.
Tom saw them apply more than a dozen "radiant" to himself to cover the heavy dark circles left by last night's astronomy lesson.
Harry beside him had unkempt hair and blank eyes.
"Are you alright?" asked Harry, as Tom straightened his collar and asked Harry with some concern.
"To be honest, not very good. Harry opened his mouth wide and yawned wide, causing a few Slytherins to turn away from him in disgust, "I couldn't sleep last night. By the way, what about Rubelos? It didn't come back to sleep last night. β
Tom remembered the conversation he had with Corubelos last night when Harry was in the bathroom to wash up.
Tom and Corubelos talk about what happened when they come back from class, and Ruberos tells him that this time it is likely that the "Shadow" card has appeared, and that he plans to sneak out while the iron is hot to see what is going on.
"Maybe it had too much fun with Lady Loris. Tom said nonchalantly.
Lady Loris is a scrawny cat with long, smooth fur who is the pet of Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts, and spends nightly patrolling the castle with Filch to help Filch catch the students on the night tour.
Although Filch did not have a good reputation among the students, and even because of his bad attitude, many students were disgusted, and as his minion Lady Loris was not liked by the students, Rubelos had a good relationship with Lady Loris and often led Lady Loris around.
"And Lady Loris?" Harry scratched at his hair, his already messy hair made even more messy by his claws, "yes, it has a really good relationship with Lady Loris! β
"Let us go?" said Tom in surprise as he walked towards the Great Hall, "I don't remember any of us Slytherin being deducted points for a night tour." β
Harry scratched at his hair embarrassedly and whispered into Tom's ear, "Actually, I've been caught by Lady Loris on a couple of night trips. If Professor Snape hadn't shown up, I'd have been the first Slytherin to be deducted points for the night tour. β
Tom was momentarily speechless, wondering whether it was better to say that Harry was not cautious enough during his night trip, or that Harry was so lucky to have a night trip when his own dean was on patrol.
There was still a commotion in the auditorium, and Tom sat down in his place and filled his plate with a spoonful of mashed potatoes.
"Hulala"
The sound of flapping wings came from far and near, and the owl's time was up.
Tom didn't pay attention to the owl's movements as usualβno one would have sent him an owl anyway.
Speaking of which, it has been more than a month since the official start of school, and I have been separated from my parents for so long, and I haven't been in touch yet, I don't know if they will be worried.
Tom was thinking about asking Harry to borrow Hedwig for the night and write a letter to his parents.
"Fluttering!"
A bird unlike any other owl came in through the auditorium window with a package, and the movement was so loud that it caught everyone's attention.
Tom looked up at the sound, and it was a very fierce goshawk with a sharp gaze, and when it looked at you, it was as if it were looking at its own prey.
