Chapter 028: Mountain Pool Cave
Kenny stopped at the edge of the pool, the points of light following his breath, the ups and downs of his chest. When the www.biquge.info is bright, it is a dazzling deep sea blue, like the eyes of a white dove, and when it is dimmed, a thin cloud flows on the surface of the pool, making it appear mysterious and silent.
"I never dreamed that there would be such a beautiful mountain pool here!" Old Flynn on the side also looked a little surprised.
"I thought you'd been here before," Kenny said, turning his head, "what are those flickering things?"
"The night candle worm, a flying insect endemic to early spring, has phosphorus on its wings, so it can emit light. β
"Look!" Kenny gestured to the pool. A ripple spreads out, layers of water ripples spread, and there seem to be some fish chasing and frolicking in the shallow water.
"You want to catch them for lunch?" said old Flynn immediately understood what he meant, and then frowned, and thought for a moment. "Forget it, we don't know how deep the pool is, and we don't know what's in it, don't risk it!"
"I guess it's not going to be that deep. Kenny crouched down and tested the temperature of the water with his hands, then looked back at Flynn Sr., "If we leave like this, we'll only be able to pick some wild fruits to satisfy our hunger, but there's a ready-made meal here, and I'd like to try it." β
"Son, you can't lose your life for a few fish, it's not worth it!" said Old Flynn in a stern tone.
"It's not as serious as you say. Kenny stood up, "I'll go find some sturdy vines to weave into a net, and leave another one tied to my waist, and you can hold the other end, and if anything happens, you can pull me up at any time." β
"I don't have that much strength!" said Flynn Sr., frowning, stubbornly.
"Believe me, ma'am, it's absolutely fine!" he said, turning away from the waterfront.
Half an hour later, a woven vine net was laid out on the ground, and Kenny untied his black steel sword as he bolted a thicker vine to his waist while the other end was placed in the hands of old Flynn with a worried face.
After the final warm-up moves, he took off his shirt and slowly lowered his feet into the water, gradually submerging his entire body in the water as he adjusted for a while and made sure that his legs were not cramping from the cold. "That's it. He tread the water with his feet and waved to the shore.
"Hey, come on!" said Flynn Sr., struggling to throw the vine net into the water.
Kenny quickly finds the two opposite corners of the net, then pulls the net with both hands and dives into the water.
The depth of the pool was beyond his expectations, but the water was surprisingly clear, and he kept paddling with his feet and trying to open his eyes. With the bright light coming from overhead, he spotted the fish, dived a little lower, and then slowly spread the net, ready to tighten it when it surfaced.
Just as he was moving in an orderly manner, he suddenly noticed an irregular opening in the rock face near the water's edge, and there seemed to be light coming out of it, like the entrance to some passageway.
"Good job!" shouted Flynn Sr. after a while, looking at Kenny as he surfaced.
"I've found a hole in the water," Kenny said as he reached out to wipe the water from his face, his feet treading water, "I want to see what's in there." β
"No, what are you kidding?" said old Flynn with his hand a little more in front of him, "Come up to me!
"When the mudflow recedes, we'll have to leave Assyria and go to Elidu to live in a small town that no one cares about, don't we?" Kenny kept treading the water, seemingly with no intention of going ashore.
"What does this have to do with the hole down there?" said Old Flynn furrowed his brow even tighter, looking a little angry. "Listen, nameless. "It could be a water snake's nest, or a hole that a pangolin made by mistake, orβ"
"Treasure?" Kenny interrupted, "I always felt that the hole was man-made, because it was passable enough, and if there was treasure in it, we wouldn't have to live such a hard life when we went to Eridu." He paused, and before old Flynn could speak, he added, "We can exchange our treasure for some gold coins, and buy a house that won't leak rain or wind, and we can live a good life, and you won't have to touch those hand-hurting herbs anymore, and the white dove can alsoβ"
"Shut up, nameless!" Old Flynn suddenly shouted in a very serious tone, "You must come up for me now!
"Don't, don't be angry, ma'am!" Kenny was gradually dragged closer to the shore by the vines around his waist, "I promise you, there will be no accidents!" he put his hands against the shore of the pool, "I'll go down and see, and if there's nothing, come up at once!"
Old Flynn panted as he looked at him and let go of the vine in his hand. "Okay. She said, "You have to swear to the god Namu that if anything happens, swim back as fast as you can, and no matter how much treasure there is in that cave, you won't risk it!"
"I swear!" Kenny held up a hand, then pointed to the shore, "Can you hand me the sword?"
"Be careful. Old Flynn handed him the black steel sword and admonished with concern in his eyes.
"Don't worry!" he took the black steel sword, took a few deep breaths, and dived again.
During the dive, the water temperature also changes gradually, and the further down you go, the warmer it gets.
He entered the cave without any problems, and swam forward with the light, the blue light behind him gradually disappeared, and the white light in front of him gradually intensified, but the passage became wider and wider. He could feel himself going down, and it was impossible to turn around at this point, this breath was not enough to support him back to shore, so he had to swim forward harder, following the direction of the white light, until his eardrum burst, his chest ached, and countless twinkling Venus burst out in front of his eyes.
Eventually, he tasted the air, which smelled moldy, but it was air, for Venus was gone, and his chest and eardrums no longer tingled, but when his vision returned to normal, it was not a treasure or a piece of light.
He dragged his soaked body a few steps forward, the sound of heavy footsteps echoing through the cavern for a long time, as chilling as the trampling of giants.
As his vision grew accustomed to the darkness, he discovered that it was a massive cave, surrounded by clammy walls, towering rocks, and a slightly musty, pungent air.
After walking a little further, a pool appeared in front of me, much smaller than the pool on the water. He looked around and quickly made a decision, then gripped the black steel sword, took a few deep breaths, and jumped into the pool without hesitation.
After entering the water, he began to question his decision. Why did he refuse Ms. Flynn's advice and insist on exploring the cave, and why did he jump into this pool without hesitation, and what did it have to do with him?
And when he resurfaced and climbed ashore, he was stunned by what appeared in front of him.
