Chapter 068: Old Things
"You're all deaf?!I'll let you kill her!kill her!!!!" White stood on his throne, glaring at Mira Kelline at the bottom of the steps, the little king beside him pale. Pen %Fun %Pavilion www.biquge.info "One Hundred..... Oh no!1,000 gold coins!" he pointed to the white dove, surrounded by twenty knights, "whoever cuts off her head, the king will reward him with a thousand gold coins!"
One of the knights raised his hand and a sword swept straight into the white dove's silver hair.
She only turned around lightly, and as those blue eyes swept over the back of the knight's hand, the ice began to dance on his armor, then on his shoulders, then on his whole body. The broadsword, made for the Imperial Guard, fell to the ground with the knight, who fell to the floor like an ice crystal statue and then became a pile of crystal splinters.
"Alright!" the white dove was oblivious to the horror of the knight beside her, "who else wants the thousand gold coins?" she looked around, and the rest of the knights all looked at the woman in front of them with frightened eyes, as if they were facing a monster.
"Shrine maiden, madman, brute, you ....." White cursed as he stood on the throne, and after a few seconds, the vicious words burned to ashes along with the sword-wielding knight.
"Duke White, is this the end of the farce?" she put on a hypocritical smile, "There are nearly a thousand pairs of eyes staring at you here, or are you going to throw away all the ugliness of the royal family before you stop?"
The corners of White's eyes twitched, and anger continued to gush out of those eyes, but even though hatred had made him almost lose his mind, the nearly a thousand pairs of eyes under the stairs and the whispering mouth still made him suppress his anger and quiet. "Don't come unharmed, Bloodthirsty Queen. After a brief moment of silence, he spat out a few words from the tip of his tongue, and his frustration made him feel like a few drops of venom were spitting out from the tip of his tongue.
The white dove stood silently until all the knights around him had retreated, leaving her and the glowing crushed ice all over the ground.
"Why, after making such a big commotion, or at my birthday party, you have nothing to say?" Seeing that the former queen was silent, White asked patiently, "Mira Carring, oh no..... What do you command, the former Queen?"
She smiled softly, her dark blue eyes staring at the frightened little king on the throne, and at the same time surprised at her composure, as if the thing that had been rehearsed a hundred times in her mind was now just a game.
"Kelline?" Whitelong said, "Don't tell me, you just want to show off here!" he looked away, scanning the crowd as he tried to find the damned traitor Quanti. The woman in front of him was standing here, there was no doubt that the guy was the trickster, and he felt as if he had seen through everything.
"Of course not. "Everyone, be still!" she said in the tone of a queen, "Everyone, be still!" she raised her chin slightly, and waved her hand to sweep away the broken ice at her feet. "Since everyone is here, and today happens to be the birthday of the ruling king, I would like to take this opportunity to give Kars's own brother, my son's regent, a birthday gift!"
"Archon, Kelline. White corrected her, and at the same time withdrew his gaze and waved at the little attendant on the side, "I'm afraid, it's not necessary, right?"
"No, of course! And you have to take it!" "The white dove strode up the stone steps, stood half a distance from White, and turned to look at the people below, "I am Mira Kelline, your queen of Assyria!"
The exchange of words and whispers was gone, and the hall was silent, and countless pairs of eyes were fixed on the woman in the thin shirt on the steps, including Kenny at the end of the crowd.
"Three years ago, I was impeached for treason, and I was given the title of 'Queen of Bloodthirsty'!" said the white dove with a puzzled look, "There are many versions of this story: I drank the blood of my maid in order to keep my youth forever, and I used witchcraft to confuse Kars so that he died at the head of his bed; I had an affair with Lord Elidu, joined forces with the new lord of Nippur, Barton, and forced Kars to abdicate, and so .....on," she glanced back at White, "Is that so?"
White felt a pair of cold eyes staring at him, and then a chill ran down his spine. "You're asking me?" he snorted, "The former queen is great—"
"It's the queen of Assyria whom you impeached, the witch of the house from the convent of the Sisters of Volley, my beloved consul!" the white dove suddenly raised his voice, interrupting White's slow muttering, "Listen to me! I am emperor and king under any law, and you are only a feudal duke, and your brother Kars can get all this, do you really think that you guts rat can call the wind and rain in Assyria? If it weren't for Kars, you would still be the forest keeper with the smell of rotting leaves!"
"Let me—" White was utterly enraged, and he seemed to be thinking of something, but she was ahead again, her voice higher and sharper than before.
"If you don't want to turn to ashes, White!" she raised her hand, a flame flickering on her fingertips.
"I don't even have the right to speak?" White was unfazed, and he bet that Mira Kelling wouldn't dare to do anything to him in front of her courtiers, unless she tried her best and really just wanted to be in the limelight.
"Yes, you don't. The white dove stared at his eyes that only a rat had to be, and said word by word, "Regardless of the past, everyone in this room-"
"Kars's death is definitely about you!" White interrupted her with a feigned appearance.
"Everyone knows that this has nothing to do with me!" the dove almost growled, and then his voice was quieter, "Listen, Assyrian courtiers!" she tensed her face and turned to the group, "Three years ago, the ruling king White colluded with his servants to frame me for the throne!" she raised her right hand and moved it to her looming left breast, "In the name of the god Namu, the queen of Assyria, I, Mira Kelline, have never devoured human blood!"
Before White could open his mouth, a voice was heard from the crowd. "Queen, there is something wrong with your words!" the voice was old and contemptuous. The white dove looked for prestige, only to see an old man in the crowd dressed in a white robe, and a thick silver chain symbolizing his status as a scholar was swaying back and forth on his chest. "As you can see, the ruler should sit in that chair and wear the crown himself, so why should he embrace his nephew, King Kars, and your son as king?" the old man coughed lightly, "power is far more coveted than honor, especially young people like you....."
