Chapter 336: Filming "Red Dawn"

DreamWorks, the filming site of "Red Dawn".

Since the White House, Capitol and other scenes have not yet been set up, Alex can only shoot other shots first. The first shot today is a scene that takes place in the Klimt Palace in the Soviet Union, and I plan to put it at the beginning of the film.

Although this Klimt Palace scene is only a few minutes long, it is still very ornate and grandiose, in keeping with Alex's always pursuit of realism.

In the room, you can see the special objects of the Soviet state everywhere, sickles, hammers, flags, portraits of Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and other giants, as well as Russian nesting dolls.

The actors are also of Russian descent, and the Russian language is very smooth. Dressed as Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev and other Soviet generals, they gathered around a table for a serious meeting.

This scene is not too difficult, that is, just read a few lines and make a few expressions. The actors in it don't even have names, and they rely entirely on the tone and content of their respective speeches to judge their status.

This is actually Alex's intention, there are too many high-tech items in his movie, and the current political situation in this world can be used. If it is a future science fiction movie, it is too lacking in substitution, and if it is a contemporary movie, it will include too many science fiction elements.

In the end, Alex simply confused the chronological background, let the three generations of Soviet leaders appear in front of the audience together, and did not clearly state that it just made people guess, and then accepted his setting.

In other words. Alex's approach is the so-called alternate historical film, which gives the audience a lot of room for imagination.

“CUT!”

Alex waved his hand, he was very pleased with the Russian-born actors, and he could tell that they had done their best to perform in front of him.

I recalled the shot just now, but I didn't find any problems, and I didn't need to reshoot anything. Eventually, Alex asked the actors to move on to the next shot, which was used as a backup in case approval was not approved or if content adjustments were needed. You can use it.

Wait until this shot is also finished. Today's shooting is over.

"How's the rest of the scene going?" Alex asked the assistant beside him.

The assistant hurriedly flipped through the notebook in his hand and said quickly: "Now only part of the White House has been built and completed, and the rooms inside are being renovated, and the streets and residential areas have not yet started." The construction of the Capitol has also just begun. It is expected that it will take some time before it will be operational. ”

Alex thought for a moment. "Then shoot some of the indoor scenes first, and use the studio to complete it for the time being." There is also the need for them to hurry up and decorate the room. ”

After a pause, he asked again, "How's the work of the props team?" Do I have all the phones, laptops, and PCs I need? These things are needed in quite a lot. You have to keep an eye on it. ”

The assistant nodded and replied, "With the help of the technical staff of the Ark Company, they have already made some props, which should not affect the filming progress." ”

Due to Alex's request to use some unheard of sci-fi props, the props team of DreamWorks was busy for a while, but fortunately, Alex gave the design drawings early in the morning and arranged professionals to follow up, so there was no trouble.

Then Alex asked about Bruce Lee again, and after he recruited the other party, he didn't let Bruce Lee idle because he didn't shoot the scene. At this time, Bruce Lee was training a group of actors to master basic kung fu moves as soon as possible.

For some of the fight scenes in the movie, Alex simply handed it over to Bruce Lee to design, and finally approved it by himself. Of course, Alex didn't leave it all alone, and he had a lot of ideas about kung fu moves that didn't seem flashy enough and too old-fashioned.

Under Alex's demonstration, Bruce Lee quickly adapted to the identity of this action director, and after absorbing some action design ideas from the future, he developed great interest and passion.

However, Bruce Lee sometimes got into the horns of the bull and refused to come out, he said to Alex: "This trick doesn't work, the power is too small and the action is too big, if you face a real master, something will definitely happen!" This must be done in order to kill the enemy. ”

Alex looked at him strangely and said, "I know, but this is a movie for the audience, as long as it looks amazing, why pursue authenticity?" ”

After several arguments, Bruce Lee slowly accepted that movies are movies and reality is reality. He designed some of the movements to be more ornamental and practical, so I don't think about it.

In this movie, Alex plays an agent who is about thirty years old, and for the embodiment of age, it needs a makeup artist to achieve it. In fact, he can do it himself even without a makeup artist. After all, when it comes to the Transfiguration Technique, Alex's Technique has reached the level of a grandmaster.

After a few makeup designs, Alex finally settled on a look that looked like a veteran who had just retired from the battlefield, but the protagonist was more handsome and tough than a real soldier.

In the setting, the protagonist of this film is an agent named Mike, who participated in the Vietnam War in the early days, and was selected to join the ranks of the president's bodyguards after returning home.

Before the White House, Capitol and other set facilities were built, Alex first filmed this part of the content, in addition to some scenes reminiscing about the battlefield in Vietnam, and some interactive content with the US president's family.

These shots were shot quickly, and the president of the United States in this film looks a bit like Kennedy, and the president and his wife also look like Jacqueline.

In the film, the president's daughter Alice is only about ten years old. She had a very good time with Mike, and even had an awkward fall out with her family because the president fired the actor.

The little actor who plays Alice is a little fan of Alex, and she likes to stick to him whenever she has free time, and she refuses to leave no matter how much others rush her. After a long time, Alex also likes this little guy a lot, and often jokes that he wants to write a script for her and make a good-looking movie for her to make her popular.

"Alex, how do you use this phone?"

"Alex, is this movement standard?"

"Alex! Alex! ”

The little guy knows how to hang around Alex all day long, but she learns things quite quickly, whether it is acting or singing. It's just that Alex has never heard her name in later generations. Perhaps this is a little genius drowning in the torrent of history.

In the film, the use of Internet technology is highlighted through some details of life, especially on mobile phones, laptops and computers. After Alex's meticulous design and the production of the Ark's technicians, these technological products from the future are just like the real thing. At least in the movie, the effect of the function is quite realistic. There is hardly a flaw to be found.

These lenses are complex and varied. Although it didn't take many minutes to show at the end, it took a lot of time. After the filming was completed, I finally got the news that the White House scene and layout were completed. It's time for the next step of shooting.

After entering the White House, there is a long clip about the visit of President Ngo Dinh Diem of the South Vietnamese regime, and then the captain of the presidential guard played by Bruce Lee cooperates with people outside, quickly controls the situation in the White House, and begins to ask for the so-called nuclear bomb launch code.

There are a lot of shots involved, and there should be a scene where an AC130 armed attack aircraft appears, but because the neighborhoods outside the White House and the Capitol have not yet been built, they can only shoot shots of the interior of the White House first.

At first, after the attack, the president and others in the White House were evacuated to bunkers. Immediately afterwards, the major agencies in the White House began to be in chaos, and the male protagonist played by Alex was also involved.

Just as the White House was waiting solemnly inside and outside, those Vietnamese who had been hiding in the bunker began to hijack the president, especially the number one villain played by Bruce Lee, whose force value is simply as high as more than 100, it is really a god to kill a god, a man to kill!

When filming this footage, the actors, photographers, and DreamWorks employees in the room had no relevant experience, let alone asked them to imagine what a kung fu shootout would be like.

Even Bruce Lee himself, he only knows how some kung fu movies are filmed, and as for the gunfight kung fu movies that Alex requested, he also crossed the river by feeling the stones, little by little.

At the beginning of the shooting, it was really not much progress, and I was always shouted to stop by Alex, and then repeated the filming just now. After a day or two of running-in, they slowly began to understand and realize what kind of movie Alex wanted to make. In addition, there was a tacit understanding between them, and soon the shooting became smoother and smoother.

From the beginning of the attack on the White House, there was a flurry of gunfights, explosions, confrontations, and so on.

Beat! Beat! Beat!

The scene was very hot, which made these actors from the 60s feel excited when they think about it.

Since there was no way to use computer special effects, some explosion scenes had to be passed at one time, so in order not to have problems with the shooting, Alex had to rehearse this kind of scene in advance, and then arrange more than ten times the number of cameras to make up for the technical shortcomings.

These are not difficult problems, the difficult part is that the AC130 footage is more difficult to shoot. To make matters worse, it is difficult to lend an AC130 armed attack aircraft to the US military. After all, this model has just been developed, and it has not even entered service, and they cannot afford to lose it if the relevant data is collected by Soviet spies.

The Lockheed AC-130 air gunboat is a series of heavy ground attack aircraft operated by the U.S. Air Force, which is further modified from the Lockheed C-130 "Hercules" transport aircraft, mainly used for close air support and armed reconnaissance.

The AC-130 is equipped with various types of cannons of different calibers, and even heavy guns such as Bofors howitzers or 105mm howitzers carried by later models, which have lethal strike capabilities against troops scattered on the ground and lack of aerial fire protection.

At this time, although the AC130 had been developed, it was still an early version and not as powerful as later generations. It was not officially put into service until 1968, and the cost of an aircraft was as high as hundreds of millions of dollars!

Even with Alex's status, it was difficult to get an AC130, and it was through the Rockefeller consortium and the Hughes Group that an experimental model of the C-130 was finally created. After revision, it was finally filmed in the film, and it appeared in a super strong posture, which made the design experts of this model full of praise, saying that they wanted to go back and realize those functions one by one.

In addition to the AC130 armed fighter, there are also several concept aircraft that are still under development, such as the F16 fighter jet, etc., which cannot be borrowed. However, because Hughes was very interested in the film, he volunteered to lend these models, the only condition was that he would be the first audience member after the filming.

After everything was ready, Alex finished filming the air combat part of the film. Two F16s and one AC130 were lost in the film, but the real damage was to the props crew to produce a model machine of equal proportions, otherwise the film would have cost hundreds of millions of dollars to shoot.
