Chapter 10: Irene's Persistence
This summer, Richard burst out with amazing energy. In many cases, the results he handed in would leave the well-informed Grand Magus speechless. In a limited period of time, the boy's mana has increased exponentially, and he is about to reach the standard of a second-level magician by the end of summer. In other areas, Richard's performance was equally astounding. Philosophy, Mathematics, Politics, History, Economics...... The teenager is like a dry sponge, frantically absorbing every drop of knowledge.
Richard, on the other hand, observes the outside world like a bird out of his shell, and he soon learns that he can't measure others by his own standards. Taking income as an example, the young man could get 800,000 gold coins from Su Helen's joy every month, and for him, this money was only equal to the consumption of cultivation, but for Erin, this was already a huge amount of money that he had never dreamed of.
In the fall, Richard began to explode again, and the speed of his progress in learning and cultivation shocked all the archmages, and even Reilly, who knew the reason, was incredulous about it. He never imagined that human beings could squeeze their time to such an extent!
Richard's adjusted schedule left no gaps for himself, and he used his time to the nearest second. Whenever he was extremely tired, he immediately emptied his brain and fell asleep in bed, relieving even the most basic alertness. Only in this way can the teenager get the deepest sleep, can he recover enough energy to support his study within three hours, and can the mana that grows in sleep catch up with meditation.
"Is this the power of love?" Reilly told Richard that he couldn't keep Erin by his side if he couldn't become a constructor before he left Deep Blue, so the pretty boy fought too.
That night, Erin walked out of Richard's quarters as usual. The moment the door closed, a magic symbol on her sleeve flickered, sending a signal. In the shadows in the distance stood a mage wrapped in a robe, his sharp gaze always falling on Erin, causing the girl to involuntarily speed up her pace. It wasn't until she had walked far away that the mage looked at the timer in his hand, and judging from the messages he had received, Erin had not stayed longer than the prescribed time in Richard's quarters. The mage in the shadows nodded, and disappeared into the depths of darkness.
Erin walked briskly to the path leading to the upper level, the teleportation circle was convenient, but it was also expensive, and walking was just a matter of taking some more time. The girl hurriedly walked around the corner, but suddenly found that there was a person standing in front of her, and she was caught off guard and almost hit the other party.
The girl let out an exclamation, but fortunately the young body reacted quickly and stopped in time. After apologizing, Erin walked briskly past the other party. However, the man grabbed her hand. A powerful force came from her wrist, and the girl felt like her bones were about to crack.
"Your name is Irene?" was a tall young mage, and although his voice was soft, the strength coming from that hand was very steady, and there was no sign of slackening. The sensitive Irene knew that this person had a bad temper.
Erin politely said, "I'm Erin, what should I call you?" and the girl tried to withdraw her arm, but her efforts didn't help.
"My name is Stevenson. Since you also make a little money selling information, then you should know who I am. The young mage said with a smile.
Under his sharp, cold gaze, Erin felt like a frog stared at by a snake, constantly breaking out in a cold sweat. As soon as she heard Stevenson's name, the girl's heart hit rock bottom. Except for Richard, everyone in Deep Blue knew that Su Helen had taken Duke Solam's son as a student.
Although Erin clearly sensed Stevenson's malice, the identity of the other party made her powerless to resist, and the girl's little face was quickly filled with despair.
"Mr. Stevenson, it seems like you're going too far to treat a lady like this, isn't it?" At this moment, a hand that was not too strong, but very strong, grabbed Stevenson, and the dragon vein warlock suddenly felt a numb arm, and had to let go of Erin.
After regaining her freedom, the girl immediately hid behind Reilly, avoiding the young mage's grim gaze.
"It's Lord Reilly, do you have a crush on this woman too?" Stevenson rubbed his red and swollen wrist, still with an aristocratic smile on his face. He had already investigated everyone around Richard, and of course knew who Reilly was.
"No true nobleman would be indifferent to the danger of a lady, would he?" Reilly's implication was that Stevenson had no aristocratic demeanor.
The Dragon Vein Warlock's face was a little ugly, but he still controlled his anger and said gracefully, "I heard that you are a friend ......of Richard?
"Stop!" Reilly held out a hand, blocking back Stenvinson's next words. Then he said to him: "If you really want to compete with Richard, then I suggest you put your energy and resources into studying." People who spend their days secretly playing with intrigues are usually crushed from the front by others. β
After saying this, Reilly didn't look at Stilvinson's reaction and left with Erin on his own.
Behind Stevenson, Minnie appears like a ghost. She stared at Erin's back and said coldly, "You can also look up to people like her who live at the bottom of aristocratic society? If so, then you don't want to touch me." β
Stevenson smiled, "Our marriage contract has been established, now I can touch you as much as I want!"
He pulled Minnie into his arms at once, and the girl's face turned pale with rage, and her struggle was completely useless. Seventeen-year-old Stevenson was strong and completely overpowered Minnie, who was still a girl.
"The teacher won't let you go!" Minnie cried hysterically.
"Teacher?" said Stevenson with a sneer, "Would you have been able to afford your tuition without the support of the Solam family?" Without the help of our Solam, Marquis Neo might not even be able to keep his own territory. He can't wait to exchange every gold coin for an enchanted arrow now, how can he afford to support a daughter who is studying in the Deep Blue? If he really has the ability, how can he sell you to Solam?"
Hearing the word "sell", Minnie's face completely lost its blood. Strictly speaking, the marriage between the Neo family and the Solam family is actually not much different from buying and selling.
"Dear Miss Minnie, if you lose my patronage, you'll be kicked out of Deep Blue tomorrow!" The Dragon Vein Warlock's words, as cold as the cold wind of Frozen Hell, made Minnie stiff. Seeing her struggle with weaker and weaker feelings. Stevenson smiled, "Dear Miss Minnie, if you think it through, then please be nice." β
Minnie's body trembled violently, and tears welled up in her closed eyes.
Stilvinson regained his graceful aristocratic posture and said with a smile: "Dear Miss Minnie, you may not know who is attacking the territory of the Marquis of Neo, do you? As for Richard Jr., his full name is Richard Akmund.
Dear Miss Minnie, do you know the connection now? Actually, you should be glad that if little Richard's father had attacked the Marquis of Neo, you would have become the daughter of a Marquis of Lost Land! If there was a day, you would be no different from Erin at the bottom of aristocratic society...... After all, Richard Jr. is our common enemy. So, help me, dear!" Stevenson patted Minnie's face, and was pleased to see that she looked at Richard's neighborhood with unconcealed hatred.

Reilly sat on the couch and said to the pale-faced Irene, "Why don't you ask Richard for help?
The girl shook her head and said firmly, "I don't want his money. β
Reilly sighed and said, "Many people have had some inexplicable persistence and have moved themselves by it, but they often inadvertently let the really important things slip through their fingers. β
Erin was stunned for a moment, then bit her lip and said, "I just want to leave something nice for myself." β
Reilly gave Erin a deep look, and then showed a happy expression: "I see. Looks like you've got a treasure of your own. He touched the girl's head and said in an encouraging tone, "Keep it well!"
"Hmm!" Erin nodded vigorously, her body smelling like sunshine.
