Chapter 1: The Holy Grail War

"Over the past year, Lord Richard's followers have led the main force into the Zuling Plateau, which has now penetrated hundreds of kilometers and is firmly in control of the previously occupied territory. A pitch-black humanoid creature stood in front of Reilly and reported to him the current situation in the Faro plane: "In addition, the Iron Triangle Empire and the Crimson Duchy established by Lord Richard have always been at odds. After confirming that you and Lord Richard were not in the Bloodstained Lands, they sent 10,000 troops into the border area and engaged in a tentative war with the Crimson Duchy. ”

"Who are the leaders of both sides?" asked Reilly.

"The commander-in-chief of the Imperial side is Sarenwell, and it is said that he is assisted by Li Shilongtu's most capable staff officer. The Crimson Duchy is led by General Anlekala, and his partner is Miss Minnie. ”

"Anlekala, you mean the brood?" asked Reilly, touching his chin.

"Nope. The humanoid creature shook its head and said, "The current Anlekala is actually a combination of that Mister Raymond and the brood. ”

"Oh?" Reilly smiled playfully and asked, "What's going on?"

Raymond found out the identity of the brood and made a deal with it. ”

"Interesting. Reilly thought for a moment and said, "Keep an eye on Raymond and see what he wants to do." While I'm not in Faro, you, the Faceless One, are responsible for the safety of this place. "He didn't ask about the outcome of the war. With Raymond's command ability and the background of the Norland civilization, it is strange that he will lose to the natives of the Faro plane.

"Understood. The humanoid saluted, then vanished into the shadows.

The Faceless are the Chosen People of the Dark Dragon Marasa, who walk in the shadows and are masters of espionage and stealth. Faceless ones don't need words, they communicate through psychic powers.

Since he could not reside in the Faro plane, Reilly summoned a group of Faceless Ones early on and put them in charge of monitoring. Every time Reilly returned to Faro, he was able to grasp the situation as soon as possible, and these faceless people contributed a lot.

After returning to his magic tower, Reilly opens the portal of time and space and enters another world.

――――――――――――――――――――

It is said that there is some supreme power on the outside of this world.

As the origin of all things, that is the ultimate pursuit of all magicians: the vortex of roots. From the beginning to the end of all things, it records all the things in this world and creates the supreme throne of all living and non-living things.

In order to reach that root, magicians work hard in their own ways.

The three demon clans, Kiri, Tosaka, and Einzberen, formed an alliance two hundred years ago in an attempt to summon the legendary Holy Grail that could grant any wish. They combined their secret techniques to accomplish this great feat.

However, when the Holy Grail actually came, people knew that it could only grant one wish at a time. As a result, the partnership immediately turned into a fratricidal struggle.

This is the cause of the Holy Grail War.

In the land managed by the Tosaka clan is a place called Fuyuki City, whose leylines are connected to a vast and almost infinite source of magical power. In order to harness this magical power, the Tosaka clan built a large magic circle beneath Mt. Enzo to draw and store magical power. This magic array is the predecessor of the "Great Holy Grail".

However, the power of the Tosaka clan alone could not really capture that huge amount of magic. If you do it indiscriminately, it is likely to cause irreversible consequences. So, they sent an invitation to Kirito and Einzberen.

Einzbelen created the Little Chalice as a conduit for the output of magical power, and the Maki clan developed a spell system that could control the Heroic Spirits, allowing the magicians who competed for the right to use the Holy Grail to fight the Heroic Spirits.

Every sixty years, the Mana-filled Grand Chalice picks seven candidates and gives them a portion of its mana, allowing it to summon Heroic Spirits known as Servants, and then decide the winner in a desperate battle.

The mighty and great men who have left an immortal light in the long river of time, immortalized in history and legends, will be separated from the realm of human beings and elevated to the status of heroic spirits after their deaths. However, even legendary characters whose authenticity cannot be proven can become Heroic Spirits by gathering their faith, similar to the gods of the Norland world.

In fact, the Heroic Spirits summoned by the magicians through the Holy Grail are nothing more than Servants as clones.

When a magician who has been chosen as a Master summons, the Grand Chalice is connected to the "Throne of the Immortal" located outside the world, and a matching Servant is selected to summon him to the present world.

In principle, only seven Magicians will be selected to become the Masters who are eligible to win the Holy Grail in a Holy Grail War, and they will summon seven Servants to protect themselves and eliminate their opponents. Heroes from different eras and countries appear on the same stage and fight each other for the right to use the Holy Grail, which is the Holy Grail War.

Once summoned, the Holy Grail will be assigned a rank based on the Servant's characteristics. Normally, there are only seven classes in a Holy Grail War: Saber (Swordsman), Lancer (Spearman), Archer (Archer), Rider (Cavalry), Caster (Magician), Assassin (Assassin), and Berserker (Berserker).

The rank of a Servant is inextricably linked to the nature of its ontology. For example, Artoria Pendragon, who appears as Saber in Fate/staynight, is only suitable for this class, while Hercules, who is summoned as Berserker, is capable of all classes except Caster. If Rayleigh becomes a Immortal, he would be suited to Caster (not explained), Rider (Rayleigh has a driver's license), and Saber (the main weapon is the Dark Sword).

When all seven groups of Masters and Servants appear, the Holy Grail War begins. If a Servant loses his Master, or is defeated in battle, his soul is absorbed by the Little Chalice and held until the end of the war. Once the souls of the seven Servants have been collected, the Little Grail will release its restraints and use the power generated by their return to the Throne of the Immortal to break through the World Crystal Wall, thus opening the path to the Root, which was the original goal of Tosaka, Kiri, and Einzberen.

And in the case of Fate/staynight, that's not the only option. In fact, if only six Servants return to the Throne of the Immortals, the Holy Grail War will be over, and the last Servant to survive will even survive.

That's what Reilly came to when he combined the premise of Fate/staynight with his own inferences.
