Metaphysics took advantage of this trend to reconcile the contradictions between famous religions and nature, and both emphasized the "nature" as the foundation. And in terms of theory and doctrine, metaphysics also clearly put forward the idea of "explaining the essence and using Confucianism".

Therefore, since the birth of metaphysics, although Confucianism still maintains its dominant position at the level of political system, its function at the level of ideological cultivation has been replaced by metaphysics or Taoism.
