Chapter 12: Eva's Worries
readx; Peter's rapid breathing was audible in the small room. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. ļ½ļ½ļ½Uļ½Eć info He closed his mouth open in surprise and took a deep breath to calm down. Still, he could clearly feel his heart pounding, bouncing as if it was about to break through his chest.
Eva watched nervously at the two of them, not knowing why they had suddenly become like this. She licked her lips and twisted uneasily.
Ratfar picked up the teacup and took a sip before leaning back in his chair and saying to Peter, "Okay, when will you be able to figure out the question just now, it will not be in vain for me to cultivate you once." Remember Peter, go back and think about it, if it is really the divine right of kings, then what do those monarchs who have been usurped, who have rebelled, who have been beaten to the destruction of the country, and why their gods have not protected them. ā
Peter glanced up at Ratfar, who wanted to say something to refute the other party's argument, but for a moment he couldn't think of any examples. He could only sigh helplessly and stood up.
Eva quickly got up from her chair, and she carefully observed Peter's expression, not daring to say anything more. Just as she was walking ahead to the door, she heard Peter's voice sound.
"Maybe you're right, but I still can't believe it. I think I'll find examples to refute you later. I don't really know how to refute it right now, but I'll tell the practice that the answer will be. Peter turned around and walked out of the doorway without looking at Ratfar's expression.
Eva smiled apologetically at Ratfar, who shook her head and said she didn't care. She let out a sigh of relief, quickly closed the door, and chased after Peter.
She took a big step and then hurriedly and cautiously followed behind Peter, not daring to come out. The two men walked out of the not-too-small private chapel in silence. Peter paused abruptly as he walked out the door. Eva was startled and quickly stood still, she tilted her head and looked at Peter's back curiously.
Peter took a deep breath and exhaled vigorously. He looked back at the closed door behind him, sighed, and said to Eva, "Let's go." ā
Eva nodded vigorously and whispered something to Peter, and the two of them answered impatiently, asking a curious question, and slowly walked back to the Redemption House. As soon as they climbed to the fifth floor, they saw Wren open the door and walk out.
He didn't have any surprised expressions when he saw the two, obviously because they had become more familiar with each other recently, and he already knew their daily habits.
Peter suddenly had a not-so-clear idea in his heart when he saw Wren, he frowned and looked at the other party and asked, "Wren, where are you going?"
Wren sniffled and said casually, "Oh, I'm going to go to the auditorium, I'm going to have dinner in a while." Why don't you go?"
Hearing Wren say this, Peter slapped his forehead suddenly, and he said that something had been forgotten, but fortunately, he was reminded by Wren now. He hurriedly said to Wren, "Wait for me, I'll come out immediately." By the way, I have some questions I want to discuss with you, don't go. With that, he hurried back to his room.
Eva gave Wren a wry smile, and Wren shook his head to indicate nothing. However, he gestured to Eva with his hand and motioned for him to wait for them in the hall downstairs. Eva nodded and returned to her room.
After a short time they walked out of the room, and Peter looked around to see no Wren. He couldn't help but pout, snorting. Eva explained it to her in amusement. Then Peter nodded happily and smiled.
Wren was waiting boredly in the hall for them to finally look forward to them coming down, he looked at Peter with a smug face speechlessly, turned his head and put on his hood and walked out of the door.
On the way to the auditorium, Peter and Wren kept discussing the connection between the secular and the theological. Eva listened quietly with a smile on the corner of her mouth in the back, and she couldn't help but sigh secretly in her heart as she looked at the two people who were discussing enthusiastically. It's just that in her mind, there is no need to discuss these issues at all. If a person can't even fill his stomach, how can he care about who is the Pope and who is the Emperor.
However, she was not prepared to tell Peter this, for she liked to see him in such earnestness that she felt in line with the behavior of a thirteen or fourteen-year-old child.
Besides, letting him know these dark things too early, Eva was afraid that it would destroy the beautiful illusion in his heart, so let's grow up slowly like this. Perhaps one day Peter would wake up from his dream and realize how childish and ridiculous those thoughts had been. Although Eva didn't want this in her heart, although Eva wanted to protect Peter's warm smile desperately. However, she also knew that since it was a dream, she would wake up sooner or later.
Her strength was still too weak to protect Peter's beautiful dreams, and all she could do now was make Peter's life happier before that.
Peter seemed to sense Eva's gaze resting on his back, and he hurriedly turned his head to look at Eva. Seeing Eva staring at him with vacant eyes, he didn't know what was going on in his heart, and his heart suddenly became anxious. He shouted, "Eva, Eva, what's wrong with you, Eva." ā
Eva suddenly woke up from her thoughts, and her face turned red as she watched Peter and Wren stop and look at herself worriedly.
She reached out and slapped her cheek, then smiled at Peter and said, "It's okay, I just thought about it." Don't worry, I'm fine. After saying that, he walked up to him and helped him straighten his collar.
Peter looked at Eva worriedly, but nothing was visible on that face. He could only bury his worries in the bottom of his heart, and said with a smile: "It's best if it's okay, let's go quickly, or we won't have anything to eat if we go late in a while." After saying that, he also raised an eyebrow at Wren on the side. Wren didn't bother to pay attention to Peter's underwhelming look, and walked straight to the auditorium.
Peter quietly swung his fist behind him before walking alongside Eva.
The sunset, still dying in the sky, reluctantly sprinkled its last faint halo onto the earth, and the shadows of the three people stretched and disappeared on the ground crookedly, and then slowly grew again.
A breeze blew, and Peter's black hair fluttered behind him. Eva reached out and straightened her chestnut hair, laughing suddenly.
