799: The Three Lord Gods
Dadu was the capital of the Yuan Dynasty. www.biquge.info Kublai Khan, the de facto founder of the Yuan Dynasty, was the same as the other khans of the four khanates, all descendants of the Golden Family, all descendants of Genghis Khan. The Yuan Dynasty, together with the four khanates, theoretically belonged to a unified Mongol empire.
This great Mongol empire spanned the eastern and western continents. The vastness of the territory is unmatched throughout the ages. There are at least hundreds of peoples living on this vast land, even in the simplest of ways. At the same time, hundreds of millions of people of these countless nationalities believe in a wide variety of religions.
Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Nestorianism, Islam, and the Mongols' own shamanism. Everything you need. In addition, these denominations have different branches, so they are even more diverse. It's so dazzling that it's too many to count.
The Mongols of the Yuan Dynasty, with their proud iron cavalry, swept east and west, invincible. It is precisely because of their invincibility that the Mongols maintain a tolerant and tolerant attitude towards religion. Any denomination could preach anywhere within the territory of the Yuan Dynasty. The imperial court did not discriminate against or suppress these religions.
Of course, it does not include the White Lotus Sect and the Ming Sect. These two sects have already raised their banners to rebel against the Mengyuan court. Therefore, it is naturally impossible for the imperial court to let them preach openly.
However, the spread of other denominations remained unhindered. And because most of them were the capitals of the Mengyuan court, the population was the largest and most prosperous, and the dignitaries gathered. It works best when you do it here. Therefore, in the capital, it can be said that there are many temples. Any denomination of any religion has its own temple.
Among them, the situation of the "White Temple" can be said to be the most special. Because it does not belong to any of the sects of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Hui, Jing, etc. In fact, it is a temple of the Tianzhu Brahmanical religion.
Brahmanism has a very long history in Tianzhu itself, and even far exceeds Buddhism. Moreover, at this time, due to the invasion of Islam, Buddhism, which flourished in the north of Tianzhu, had already declined. On the contrary, Brahmanism, because it is rooted in the south of Tianzhu, is still quite prosperous.
Many Brahmanical merchants came to Dadu by sea to do business. These devout believers also had the need to pray to the gods in a foreign land, so they raised funds to build a Borneo temple. Since the Tianzhu Brahmanism worships white, the temple is snow-white from the inside out. When the ordinary people of the capital saw it, they called it "White Temple".
Although the White Temple was built, but
The caste system peculiar to Brahmanism divides people into four classes. The highest rank was the Brahmin, equivalent to a monk, priest, bishop, etc., followed by the Kshatriyas, who were military aristocrats who actually wielded the force, equivalent to the warriors of the Eastern Ying Kingdom, and the third was the Vaishyas, that is, commoners. The fourth is the Shudra, who is only allowed to perform menial work that is considered "unclean," such as slaughtering, delivering births, and handling funerals. Usually they were slaves or servants of the first three castes.
In addition to the four castes, there are also the so-called "Dalits", or untouchables. They have the lowest status in Tianzhu's society and are the most discriminated against, equivalent to beggars. The remaining four castes must not come into contact with each other. Otherwise, you will become an unclean person, and you will lose your original caste and social status, and your end will be very miserable.
The caste system is the most important foundation of Brahmanism. In the teachings of Brahmanism, what is the caste at birth is always the caste. Even if there is a change, it can only be from the top down. That is, it is possible for Kshatriyas to become Vaishyas, but they can never rise to Brahmins.
Not only that, but Brahmanism also believes that if you are born as a Brahmin, you will be born from generation to life, and you will always be a Brahmin no matter how many lifetimes you go through. In the same way, to be born as a Kshatriya is to always be a Kshatriya. If you are born a pariah, you will always be a pariah.
In the eyes of outsiders. The teachings of Brahmanism are very rigid and rigid. But in fact, the reason why Brahmanism is like this is closely related to the history of Tianzhu since ancient times. It should be said that even if it is not complete, at least this system caters to the needs of the vast majority of people in Tianzhu society, so it can flourish in Tianzhu for a long time.
Clearly, however, Brahmanism could never have been embraced outside of Tianzhu.
For example, in the Yuan Dynasty, if according to the teachings of Brahmanism, even the emperor or the crown prince could only be a Kshatriya, and he would always be crushed by the Brahmins. Regardless of Baiyan's fake Supreme Emperor, how can the arrogant Heavenly Demon of the Troubled Times accept such a ridiculous theory?
Therefore, although the Yuan Dynasty did not prohibit Brahmanism from building temples in the capital, it was impossible for the Yuan Dynasty to treat Brahmanism as it did for other religions such as "Buddha, Taoism, and Confucianism".
Because of this, although the White Temple has been built in Dadu for decades, it has always been deserted in front of the gate. Except for those Tianzhu merchants, no one else will come to pay their respects.
But early this morning, that routine was broken. The person who broke the convention was none other than Xiao Sheng, who was nicknamed "Sima Jianjun".
Riding a tall horse, he walked slowly according to the bridle, and came to the main gate of the White Temple. I didn't see him raise his hands and feet, but the white shadow flickered, and he was already out of the saddle and dismounted. Xiao Sheng raised his head, looked at the temple in front of him, then smiled slightly, and stepped into the door proudly.
Inside and outside the gate of the White Temple, although there were also several Tianzhu people nearby. But firstly, he was intimidated by the sword aura on Xiao Sheng's body, and secondly, the temple did not prohibit outsiders from entering. Therefore, these Tianzhu people do not dare to act rashly. just watched Xiao Sheng break in.
Although the White Temple is cold, the Tianzhu merchants who funded the construction of the temple were all wealthy businessmen. Therefore, when they built the temple, they spared no expense. Every inch of the temple has thrown a lot of real money, not only the materials are extremely exquisite, but also all kinds of decoration and carving, which are also beautiful and magnificent.
Xiao Sheng walked through the hall all the way, as if entering a no-man's land. After a while, he entered the main hall, which was the most spacious and ornate of the temples, large enough to accommodate thousands of people to worship and pray at the same time.
If it is a Buddhist temple, then it is enshrined in this main hall that it is the Buddha and Manjushri, Puxian two Bodhisattvas; if it belongs to the Taoist temple, it must be dedicated to the Taishang Laojun, the Yuan Shi Tianzun, the Lingbao Daojun and other three Qings; if it is the Confucian Confucian Temple, then needless to say, of course, it is to worship the holy master Confucius, next to the Yasheng Mencius, and the resurrection of the saint Yan Hui and so on.
But in the main hall of this Brahmanical religion, there are three other statues of gods with strange shapes.
The statue of the god in the middle was dressed in the typical Tianzhu style of a king's crown, with a blue complexion and various precious stones, but it was lying on the body of a large snake coiled like a bed and fell asleep. Above the navel of the statue, there is a lotus flower in full bloom.
This idol is Vishnu, the head of the three main gods of Brahmanism. Legend has it that it lay asleep on the great snake Ananta and floated in the sea of the universe. Every time the universe goes through a cycle of "one eon", which is 4.32 billion years on earth, Vishnu will awaken once.
The statue on the left side of the god has four heads and four arms, wears a crown, has a white beard, and sits cross-legged on a peacock. The four faces show four expressions of "compassion, compassion, joy and giving". It is none other than Brahmanism, one of the three main gods of Brahmanism, Brahma, who presides over the "creation". Legend has it that Brahma used the lotus flower on Vishnu's navel as a material to create the whole world.
But very strangely, the four faces of the idol in front of him were all very similar to the Sect Master of the Great Brahma Sect, the Great Brahma King Hemo.
As for the statue on the right, it is in a posture of three eyes and four hands, standing on one foot, dancing and waving. This is the last main god of Brahmanism: Shiva, who is in charge of destruction and destruction. But at the same time, Shiva is also the god of music and dance.
It is said that the dance of Shiva has unparalleled power. Whenever the universe has gone through a long period of time, Shiva will dance and destroy the whole world. Then Vishnu will wake up. Then Brahma recreated the world, and Vishnu went back to sleep, and so on.
At this moment, there was only one person in the main hall. He wore a broad robe of orange and apricot, and his head was tied with a heavy veil. He was kneeling in front of the idol, clasping his hands into fists, closing his eyes and bowing his head, and muttering prayers. He spoke in the Tianzhu dialect, so although his voice was not small, Xiao Sheng, who stepped into the hall, couldn't understand what he was saying.
Xiao Sheng raised his head and glanced at the three main gods enshrined in the hall. Then he smiled slightly, stepped forward, palmed his hands, and bowed twice to each of the three main gods. Of course, Xiao Sheng did not believe in Brahmanism. But as the saying goes, it works. Enter the house to call people, enter the temple to worship the gods. Since you have entered the temple of Brahmanism, it is also an essential etiquette to say hello to the owner of the temple.
Xiao Sheng was sharp, and the whole person was like a peerless sword. In addition, he did not deliberately restrain himself, but let the sword qi be released. Therefore, the man who had just entered the main hall and knelt on the futon and muttered prayers immediately felt it. He straightened his waist and glanced back at Xiao Sheng. In jerky Chinese, he said, "It turned out to be ...... Sima Jianjun: I can't imagine that you also believe in ...... Brahmins?"
Xiao Sheng smiled and said, "How is it possible? to be born as a Brahmin, to be a Brahmin for eternity." Born as a Kshatriya, immortalized Kshatriya. This kind of doctrine, apart from you Tianzhu people yourself, there is no other nation that will believe. ”
The man frowned and said, "Since that's the case, then...... You're here...... What for?"
Xiao Sheng smiled: "I'm here to find someone." Find someone with the nickname 'Universe Heavenly Venerable'. ”
The man's face sank, and he shook his head and said, "Here...... No...... This person. You...... Finding the wrong place...... Finish. ”
Xiao Sheng smiled: "Oh, is that so? But...... I'd love to ask. In your Brahmanical teachings, what is the rule of 'lying'? Encourage or discourage?"
The man was silent for a long time, and then said, "What are you looking for the Universe Heavenly Venerable?"
Xiao Sheng said lightly: "Actually, it's not that I'm looking for him myself. I'm just being told. ”
The man said in a deep voice, "Entrusted by someone...... What kind of person? What are you asking you to do with the Universe Heavenly Venerable?"
Xiao Sheng looked careless, and said casually: "Actually, it's nothing." That person just entrusted me to find the Universe Heavenly Venerable, and then ...... Just cut off the head of his neck. So, Brother Maha, can you tell me, where is the Universe Celestial Venerable?"
One of the eight seed masters of the recruitment conference, Maha Xinye, the descendant of Tianzhu Maha Shidadao, suddenly rolled his eyes and shouted: "Far away in the sky, close in front of you." It's just that when you see the deity, it's already predestined, and you immediately want to see another being. ”
Xiao Sheng put his hands behind his back and asked with a smile, "Oh, who is it?"
Maha Xinye shouted, "Yama Raja, that is, what you Han people call - King Yama!"
