(51) Discovery (Sean Tumble, II)
"I went to the people of the Males. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. biqUgE。 info Their own magical attainments are low, and they can't get a direct response from Maar. He shook his head, "However, they are still able to use the Divine Arts, and all of our Members, including the Reserve Members, have lost access to the Divine Network. In other words, Mar didn't ban the arts, but deliberately targeted us. ”
"I expected it." Yuffie tilted her head and put her hand on her cheek, "What else?" ”
"That day, the man who destroyed the city wall...... His name was Kulen Dar, and he was the priest of Edda, the Lord of Heaven. He gritted his teeth and spat out the name, "He met with Rogman III before the attack on Holly. If I'm not mistaken, it's he who proposed the war against us! ”
"In other words, it's likely that Edda and the current Mar have some kind of connection, or cooperation?" Lin leaned directly on the table and turned her head to look at her friend, "Yufie, you say, they can't be the same person?" ”
Yuffie pursed her lips and was silent for a while. Sean didn't fully understand what riddle they were playing, but judging by the girl's expression, it was clearly not a good thing.
"I don't know." After a long time, the girl whispered, "Leonus said that everyone can only be a substitute for one god. However, maybe 'he' is an exception. She looked up at Sean, who was a little dazed, "Thank you for your information, then, I'll also tell you about the information we got." ”
Sean nodded vigorously and swallowed, mentally ready—or rather, thought he was ready. Because some of the girl's next words completely exceeded his psychological expectations.
Maar, the Lord of the Earth, was only a mortal in the exercise of divine authority, and so was Edda. The previous one, the one they believed in, had fallen decades earlier. Today's Mar may have been the first evil of the Grey War two hundred years ago, having attempted to return to the El twenty years ago and was sealed. The current "Lord of Heaven" Edda, as the oracle who leads the empire to war, is likely to have some kind of close relationship with Mar -
"I even suspect that the demons in the Breeze Forest have something to do with them. The destruction of the Locks was an accident, but if we didn't explore, they could break the Locks from the inside sooner or later - it was a separation, not a prison. Yuffie concludes his narrative, "The fact that the Empire has suffered a great deal of damage is indeed an irrefutable fact, and we cannot blame the Empire for sending troops from this point." However, the Crow Knights may only be a victim of greater darkness. ”
Sean nodded reluctantly, indicating that he had heard the girl's words. He had a vague sense of a vast conspiracy - or a plan, and the destruction of the Crows was the first step. He felt indignant at the unfortunate deaths of the knights who had been forced to leave their homes, and then forced himself to calm himself and ask the question that had been hovering in his mind.
"Miss Yuffie. How can you be sure, Alaya...... And those members of the group, still alive? ”
"It's easy." Yuffie replied lightly, "I can feel that they are essentially the same as me before me, incomplete undead creatures made by Ada's power. She nodded her lips, "Unlike the low-level undead, they have the original memory, personality, and physical qualities, and are much more 'useful' than zombies with dull movements." As for why it's what you see, probably...... They're being manipulated in some way. ”
"Is there a way to lift the control?" "You should ......," he asked eagerly. If you don't want them, go to war with your companions! ”
"I'm not sure if there is a means to do it or how much time it will take until the control is determined." The girl's voice was still calm, almost making Sean feel a little unforgiving. Fortunately, her next sentence pulled him out of the bottom again, "However, my gut tells me that their manipulation is not permanent. ”
Lynn glanced at Sean, as if to cheer him up. "Besides, even if we can't do it, there are Dean Corens and Sister Silvermoon."
"Thank you." Sean calmed down a little, "Miss Yuffie, what else do I need to do next?" ”
"Continue to track the movements of that unit and observe if they usually have any unusual behavior." Yuffie replied, "They're not fast, but they hardly need to stop, and I'm afraid it's a somewhat tiring task." ”
Sean took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "No problem." He said, "That's what I wanted to do—what about you?" ”
"We have to find a way to go and talk to His Majesty the Emperor." Lin said happily, as if she was really going to gossip about her daily life, "Don't worry, just go and ask him what benefits he got from Edda!" ”
Sean knew that it was very dangerous to try to get close to the Emperor now, no matter what they really wanted to do. However, he had no position or will to stop the two of them, so he pursed his lips and bowed slightly.
"Good luck to you. So, here I go. ”
Sean walked down the stairs and recited the incantation. The force of the wind drove his legs, making him faster than any fast horse. After about ten minutes of pursuit, the force appeared at the end of his line of sight again.
So he slowed down and watched their every move from a distance.
As Yuffie said, they did not need to eat, they did not need to rest, but they marched tirelessly, day and night. However, they still seemed to rely on the light, and at night, some of the soldiers in the queue would light illuminated torches of magic and march at a slightly slower pace.
Even so, following them all the time, paying attention to every slight movement and anomaly, is still quite a test of patience and physical strength. Sean used secret techniques to support the operation of his brain, plus a small amount of bread and water, I don't know if it was by virtue of promise, or other beliefs, he kept going.
The first three days and nights were nothing unusual. By noon on the fourth day, the queue was close to where Fort Holly had been, and at the speed of their march it was only four or five days' distance from the eastern frontier.
Sean looked at the abandoned castle with mixed feelings. At this moment, out of the corner of his eye, he found that the soldiers had successively taken a curved flask from their waists, unscrewed the stopper, and poured the liquid into their mouths.
It was only once in a few days, and they didn't need to eat or drink—the jug probably wasn't filled with any ordinary water or wine, Sean thought to himself. But how to get a sample of the flask or the liquid in it made him a little difficult.
It would be too weak to continue to wait. Yuffie said that there was a psychic connection between these warriors, but the flask itself was an ordinary object, and probably no spells were attached to it. He calmed his somewhat fluctuating mood and recited a standard incantation that he was not very proficient at, allowing his body to completely dissolve into the air.
