Chapter 260: Conspiracy Theories

Wesley was a man who had the ability to joke about a lot of things.

But even he had to become sullen after receiving so much unbelievable information at once.

The next morning, when Donner carefully removed the half-elf girl's long legs, which had been resting on him for almost the whole night, and got out of the bed, and out of the bedroom, he saw Wesley sitting at the top of the stairs with a sad face.

"What are you doing here, you can't sleep all night, do you?" Donner noticed the dark circles under his eyes, and regretted that he shouldn't have talked to him so much last night.

"I'll discuss something with you. Wesley frowned slightly.

"What's the matter?" asked Donner.

"Can I take what you said last night as if it was falseβ€”not that you lied to me, I mean...... How about you kidding me?" Wesley had a pleading look on his face, Donner had never seen him look like this before.

Donner instantly understood what he meant.

If someone had come to him while he was still on Earth and told him that the whole world and his life were all illusions, Donner might have been even more miserable than Wesley is now.

Yes, it is a cruel thing to know the truth.

Sometimes, in order to escape this cruelty, people are willing to pretend not to know, or angrily deny, ridicule or even scold.

When Wesley first heard Donner's statement last night, he was all focused on understanding the logic of that statement, but it wasn't until he went back and slowly digested the bizarre statement that he realized how terrible it was.

The pain of his worldview being torn apart turned into a sense of powerlessness that kept him awake all night.

And for Wesley, the most painful thing is that the story comes from his most trusted friend, and he can't pretend not to know, and he can't do otherwise, mock and scold.

That's why he waited at the door of Donner's room, begging Donner to release him from this pain.

"Actually......" Donner looked ashamed, "I also felt like I was thinking too much last night after I slept well." ”

Wesley looked at him incredulously.

"You know, I'm a bit of a conspiracy theory at times. Donner smiled self-deprecatingly.

"Then you said, another world or something......" Wesley stood up.

"Maybe I'm really the messenger of the God of Light, just like you told me about the strange rumors that have spread on the island of Lante since I left?" said Donner, laughing.

"This can't ......" Wesley's expression was serious at first, and then he laughed all of a sudden: "You will only be a messenger of the devil!"

Donald laughed: "Let's go, have breakfast and go to ......"

"Where's Reico? won't she come with us?" asked Wesley.

"She's got to sleep," Donner said as he walked down the stairs, "I'm probably still growing, so I'm sleeping more......"

Wesley gave him a disdainful look, "She's ...... In this way, you still grow your body, are you greedy?"

"At this point, you and I don't have a common language...... Donner laughs.

......

Did Wesley really believe his new claims?

Downer didn't know.

But, at least, he looked like he's really relaxed.

Throughout breakfast, he had been playing boring jokes with Una and Lily, making them lean forward.

However, Donner noticed that Una seemed to be watching Wesley intentionally.

Perhaps, she was trying to find some clues on his face to deduce what the young master had done last night - Una had always thought that Wesley was the young master's favorite.

After breakfast, Una carefully branded all seventy-four magic circles that Donna had drawn with his name on them.

By the time Ruiko and Shaida got up, Una had gone to the auction house alone.

"Hurry up and eat," Donner smiled and urged the half-elf girl, "When you're done with breakfast, I'll take you and Shaida out for a walk, and I haven't had a chance to look around since I came to the Holy City." ”

"Do you want me to lead the way," Wesley said with a wicked smirk, "I'm very familiar with it." ”

Donner gave him a blank look: "You better think about the next work." ”

Rickle grinned, grimaced at Wesley, turned his head again, and said to Donner, "Let's go see the Cathedral of Light, shall we?"

Donner's face was embarrassed, and since he had come up with the inference he had made last night, he had become even more disgusted with the Church of Light.

Reicor saw what was on his mind and immediately changed his tune: "Hmm...... Forget it, I'll listen to you, it's the same everywhere......"

......

Auction House.

Una walked to the special passage that Lannie had signaled last time, with a thick package in her arms.

The guard stopped her: "I'm sorry, this is the VIP passage. ”

"Last time, Miss Lannie, let me just walk from here. Una argued.

"Lanny?" the guard smiled contemptuously, "If you're looking for Lanny, you'll be able to see her from the main entrance." ”

At this moment, a middle-aged gray-robed mage also came to the front of the passage.

The guard recognized the man and saluted respectfully: "Master Corina......"

Mage Corina nodded at the guard, glanced at Una casually, and then his expression changed slightly, before he took his eyes off Una's face for a moment.

Una was used to seeing such expressions since she was a child, so she pretended not to see it, and said tentatively to the guards: "I am here on behalf of Master John, John Smith......"

The guard shook his head coldly: "I'm sorry, I haven't heard of this name. ”

To be on the safe side, Master Martin gag John Smith's affair and only informed all the guards to let Una go as soon as he heard the name - because Donner had said last time that Una would come on her behalf next time.

However, Una felt that she was coming on behalf of the young master, and of course she should report the young master's name.

"Let her go up......," said Master Corina with a sense of imposingness.

"Master Mage...... This ...... "guards."

"You'll just treat her as my retinue......" Corina said, looking at Una.

"Yes, my lord......" the guard nodded respectfully and made a gesture of invitation to Una.

Una shook her head slightly: "I'm sorry, I'm here on behalf of Young Master John." ”

"What's the point of being my retinue temporarily?" said Master Corina with a smile.

"I'm sorry......" Una's voice was quiet, but her tone was resolute.

Corina's face changed slightly, and she immediately returned to normal, looking at the package that Una was holding in her arms, and asked with a smile, "You're here to consign the auction, right?"

"Yes, on behalf of Master John, I have come to entrust the auction house to auction a batch of magic arrays, and Miss Lanny received us last time. Una replied.
