Chapter 37 Temporary Retreat
"Is this the second revelation you see?" Hela asked Karen after creating yet another zombie soldier. She remembered that the other person had mentioned that two revelations had been foreseen in the water. One of them was the return of the Damned Lady, and the other seemed to be a reference to the attack on the fort. But that was just Hela's speculation, and the solemn expression on Karon's face seemed to indicate that things were worse than she thought.
The short-haired witch wraps her whip around a monster in the air, using her inertia and the monster's own weight to throw it at other enemies. Physical fitness is not something that witches focus on, and while they often use meditation to improve their ability to control their magic, that doesn't mean they spend the same amount of time building muscles. So even Karen, who was known for her melee combat, was exhausted after the battle that had lasted for nearly ten minutes, and she only felt as if her arms were hanging from two iron balls, which was extremely heavy.
However, compared to the muscle soreness, Jialun's brain was still clear, and she kicked and rushed to the enemy in front of her, and the corner of her eye began to search for the exit of the room. As mentioned before, there are no doors in this strange fortress, so the idea of temporarily escaping the room and using the door to lock the enemies doesn't work, but the narrow hallways are obviously better against the large number of opponents than the halls that will leave you on your back. So after confirming the direction, Karen immediately made a decision, and with a flick of his wrist, the snake whip suddenly wrapped around the stone pillar with the basin of water, which was not as heavy as the one used to navigate on the Cursed Lady, and the tired witch held the whip handle with both hands, and with both arms together, she successfully knocked the pillar to the ground.
"Bang!" the sound of rocks crashing against rocks sounded, followed by the skyrocketing fire. The basin naturally couldn't stay level during the collision, and the liquid burning with blue flames in it also fell in front of the witch like a light rain, and those strange flames formed a wall of fire, blocking out the toad-like enemies.
"Now is not the time to say this, quick! let's go!" said Garen, giving her companion no room to refute, she grabbed Hela's arm and led her towards the exit of the room. It was a wise decision, as the monsters seeping out of the walls didn't actually appear intent on killing the two of them, and they felt more like they were blindly lunging towards the living people in the room. So if Karen and Hela can escape the Toad Monster's senses, then these monsters may stay where they are or wander blindly. And, probably because of her physique, Hela was really light, and when the short-haired witch dragged her companion, she felt as if she was just a child in her hand.
This allowed Karen to succeed, and before the liquid burning with the blue fire could be extinguished, the two witches had already run out of the room, gasping for air in the hallway. "They didn't chase after them, did they?" The short-haired witch couldn't even hold her weapon steadily, and she casually wrapped the snake whip around her waist and pressed her hands on her knees to ease the fatigue of her body. Hela, on the other hand, hadn't yet reacted to what had just happened. "What did you do! You knocked over the divination basin! If anyone else knows, we're going to do both..."
"If we stay there any longer, who knows if we will live to be punished. Karen waved her hand casually, apparently unconcerned about Hela's concerns, and cast her eyes down the hallway, where there was still a faint blue fire, but no sound could be heard. "And these guys aren't the second revelation I've gotten. They're just some kind of precursor, go and call the stupid big guy guarding the door in, we've got bigger trouble to solve. ”
Hela wanted to say something, but seeing the expression on Kalen's face, she wisely chose to remain silent. She knew that her sister was always irritable and impulsive on the surface, but in fact, in the sound of the snake whip, Jia Lun was not slow to think. Alone by sheer boldness, she can't get a place in the wizarding horde, and she has always been a deadly rattlesnake in Hela's eyes, her rudeness and arrogance, as well as the terrifying weapons that she wields at will, are just a mechanism on the snake's tail to attract attention, and the truly deadly fangs are forever hidden behind them, and when the prey is seen under the influence of the mechanism, she will stab them into their vital points.
"I see, I'll bring the mountain monster. Be careful, the tsunami is close at hand, and if it is lost, we have nowhere else to hide. With that, the Crypt Girl turned and went to the lower level of the fortress. And Jia Lun, who stayed in the corridor, sneered, "Extra worry." She gently reached out and patted her weapon, and the dark red of the three vipers obediently raised its head and opened its mouth to reveal four narrow fangs. Without much hesitation, Jia Lun suddenly broke off one of the two longer fangs on the snake's upper chamber and held it in his hand. The viper, which was treated in this way by its owner, did not struggle or scream, and was actually dead when it was made into part of the snake's whip.
The short-haired witch flicked her fangs and used them as some kind of dagger, and began to carve them on the walls and floors of the hallways after making sure that the toad-like monsters were not being pursued. Rock, of course, is much harder than snake teeth, and Karen's purpose was not to leave a dent in the rock, the teeth in her hands naturally shatter when they rub against the hard stone surface, turning into fine bone powder, and writing a lot of strange symbols like painting on black stone with gray-white paint. There was only one way to the Divination Room, and as long as it was blocked, these monsters wouldn't cause more trouble.
There was a limit to how much bone meal a fang could grind, and before Karen could extend her symbol from the wall to the floor, the paint in her hand was running out. In desperation, the witch had no choice but to pull out another snake tooth and continue her actions. This was not what she wanted, because, as she had said before, the sea serpents that had been whipped into snakes were long dead, and their lost teeth could not be regenerated, and what Karen was doing now was undoubtedly damaging the weapon she relied on to become famous. But compared to the damage to the weapon, she couldn't accept that she had a bomb next to her, and the snake whip could be done again if it was broken, and if she let it go because she felt sorry for these few teeth, she couldn't imagine what bad consequences might be.
"Next time, I'll make a whip made of more snakes, five? no, at least seven! If there aren't enough sea snakes, I'll go find those vipers on land. Jia Lun muttered to himself angrily, as a way to relieve the feeling of heartache. What she didn't notice was a viscous liquid slowly oozing from the cracks in the zenith made of black rock above her head.
