Chapter 32: Nicol Lemay
Christmas is still a few days away, but the festive atmosphere is already strong.
One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts School woke up from a dream to find that it was covered with several feet of snow and that the lake was covered with hard ice.
The Weasley twins were punished for enchanting several snowballs and causing them to chase Quirrell around and smash them behind his turban.
These two brothers are really powerful, and they are probably the only ones who dare to chase Voldemort, Rolf secretly praised the warriors.
Several owls flew through the snowy skies to deliver their mail, and they had to regain their strength under Hagrid's care before they could continue to take off.
Everyone was eagerly awaiting the holidays, and while the Hufflepuff common room and auditorium were blazing with fire, the windswept corridors were chilling.
The windows of the classrooms were also rattling in the cold wind, as if something had been knocking on the lattice.
The most devastating thing was that Professor Snape's classes were all in the underground classroom, and a white mist formed in front of them as soon as they breathed.
This left a group of young wizards unable to speak, so they had to get as close as possible to their hot cauldrons to soak up the faint warmth.
Although Malfoy complained about the loss of the Quidditch match in Slytherin, compared to poor Harry, who could not go home, he still stepped forward to care:
"I heard you're going to spend Christmas at Hogwarts? Would you like to come to my house?"
Harry smiled gratefully, then said, "It's okay, as long as I don't go back to Dursley's house, I'll be super happy to spend the holidays wherever I want, so go home and enjoy your vacation." And Ron and Rolf will be with me. ”
Malfoy nodded thoughtfully, then returned to his seat and waited for Snape to begin.
There were no Hufflepuff classes for the day today, and the afternoon flight lesson was cancelled due to snow.
Rolf is sitting at the Hufflepuff table with Justin and Ernie, the roommates doing their homework, and Rolf contributing to Singing the Odds.
He is trying to shift attention away from Rita Skeeter to the lack of moral and professional skills at Hogwarts.
But he also knows that this kind of thing can't be rushed, it should be gradual.
Since only Professor Snape had a class today, the other professors were also in the cafeteria, carefully preparing for the Christmas party.
Hagrid was carrying the fir trees into the hall, where Professors McGonagall and Flitwick were busy arranging the Christmas decorations.
"Ah, Hagrid, the last tree has been brought in and placed in the corner over there, okay?" Professor Flitwick was standing in a chair, directing the pendants to fly up on his own.
He also used his wand to spew strings of golden bubbles and hung them on the newly moved Christmas tree.
From time to time, there are a few disobedient little fairies, flying around restlessly, which makes the Christmas tree more mysterious.
The auditorium was beautifully and magnificently decorated by the professors, with drooping ribbons of holly and mistletoe on the walls, and a full twelve towering Christmas trees erected throughout the room.
Some trees are covered with shiny Xiaoice pillars, others are flickering with hundreds of candles, and the decorations on each tree show the careful thinking of the professors.
Rolf noticed that Hagrid was followed by four small ones, Harry and Malfoy.
Looks like they're out of Potions class?, Rolf waved at them, slashing at his presence.
Rolf came over and greeted them, and Ron said enviously:
"I really envy you, I don't have a day of classes today, and I don't have to spend a morning in that cold environment underground, my hands and feet feel cold!"
Rolf smiled and didn't say anything more, while Hagrid turned back to them and asked, "How many days do you have left?"
"It's only one day," said Hermione, "yes, it reminds me that there's still half an hour to eat, and we should go to the library." ”
"Are you going to do your homework now?" asked Malfoy, curious.
"What kind of homework, we're going to keep looking for news from Nicol Lemay," Harry said in frustration.
"What?" Hagrid looked horrified. "Listen to me, children, I told you that the big dog guards something that has nothing to do with you, so stop it! ”
"I think I've heard of him," Rolf said at this point.
Since they were not in the same academy, although they could be seen every day at mealtime, they were all in a hurry, and they didn't know what they were busy with.
If he had known that they were not studying hard and were looking for Nicol Lemay, he would have told them the information earlier.
In Hagrid's widening eyes, Rolf was pulled away by the three lions cubs, and Malfoy hurriedly followed.
"Stop, I just remember that he was an alchemist, I remember seeing him on the card of the chocolate frog?" Rolf easily broke free from the drag of the three lions.
Looks like they want to pull Rolf to the library?
Kidding, with half an hour to go, Rolf didn't want to miss out on a delicious lunch because of Nicol Lemay.
As if she had suddenly remembered something, Hermione clapped her hands and said, "I remember! I seem to have seen him in some book." ”
Then she turned and ran away like a gust of wind, leaving Harry and Ron messy in the wind.
"Why don't we ......," Ron said in an uncertain tone, "let's wait for her at the restaurant? ”
Harry happily agreed, as it meant that they would finally be able to enjoy the Christmas holidays without having to go to the library.
After a while, Hermione ran back to the dining room with a huge old book in her arms.
"I didn't think to look here!" She whispered excitedly, "I borrowed it from the library a few weeks ago and wanted to read it for fun. ”
Ron asked in surprise, "Pastime?" but Hermione told him to be quiet and asked her to look up the book.
She began to flip the pages quickly, muttering words as she spoke. Rolf and Malfoy sat with them with great interest, wanting to see what they wanted to do.
Finally, she found it. "I know! Hermione shouted excitedly, but seemed to remember that Snape was in the hall too, so she tried to suppress her screams of excitement.
"Nicol Lemay," she said, in a low voice as if acting, "is known as the maker of the Philosopher's Stone!"
However, her words did not have the effect she expected, and it was obvious that the friends did not know what the Philosopher's Stone was.
After seeing the puzzled expressions of several people at the Philosopher's Stone, Rolf explained:
The Philosopher's Stone is an ancient alchemy technique that involves the refining of the Philosopher's Stone, a magical substance with amazing functions.
The Philosopher's Stone can turn any metal into pure gold, and it can also create an elixir of life that will make those who drink it immortal.
Hermione nodded excitedly and asked, "Got it! That big dog must be guarding Nicol Lemay's Philosopher's Stone!"
I'm sure Lemay asked Dumbledore to keep it for him, because they were friends.
And he knew that someone was playing with the idea of the Philosopher's Stone, so he transferred the Philosopher's Stone from Gringotts. ”
"A stone can make gold, and you will never die?" said Harry.
"No wonder Snape is playing with it, too! Seeing Harry once again focus his gaze on Snape,
Rolf had no choice but to interject again: "I don't think it's Snape, Snape himself is a potions master, and the potions he refines are priceless.
Although he can't bring people back from the dead, he can still delay death.
And the Philosopher's Stone is not as precious as you think, I have one at home, if he wants, he can ask someone to refine one. ”
Harry was skeptical of Rolf's claims, apparently in his opinion, everything the evil Snape did was wrong.
Sometimes a person's stereotype really has a big impact on how he gets along with him afterwards, and if Snape hadn't shown so much hostility towards Harry, I'm sure Harry wouldn't have always thought Snape was a bad guy.
But then again, it was obviously impossible for Snape to show kindness to Harry, unless Harry was dressed as a woman.
