344. Resurrection from the dead
Mary replied with some emotion: "Although the elders call us Samarians and usually look down on us, we also believe in God, and my brother has always believed in Aroha devoutly!"
Jesus sighed, "That will be easy, and I may be able to save him." Maria, take me to his graveyard quickly, if you delay any longer, I'm afraid it will be too late. β
As he spoke, he wanted to take Maria's hand, but he stretched it out halfway but retracted it, this is a subconscious habit imprinted in the soul imprint, when he called her name, it was like calling the former guardian saint of the temple of Isis, so he didn't touch her, but took Vivi's stubby bear paw.
...... Both the Salem and Samar people followed the same tradition of wrapping their bodies in white cloth after death and placing them in tombs made of stones, and then piling up sand on the stones as tombs.
The news of Jesus' arrival reached the village, and many people rushed to the cemetery to see the excitement. Jesus stood in front of Lazarus' tomb with a relaxed smile, and he could sense the faint traces of life in the tomb. Lazarus wasn't really dead, but he had stopped breathing and his heartbeat was so weak that it was hard to detect, making people think he was dead.
This phenomenon of short-lived shock and suspended animation, Amon had seen on the battlefield. Joshua raised his staff and pointed to the grave and said, "Mary, your brother is not dead, open the tomb and he will return to the earth." β
As if he understood Jesus' words, Vivi ran over and used his claws to dig through the sand and try to remove the stones from the tomb. Jesus lifted his cane, and the stones and sand naturally surged to the sides, and Vivi rolled down with the sand, and Lazarus, wrapped in white cloth in the tomb, appeared in the sun.
This scene happened in broad daylight, and when people saw the tombs suddenly separate and reveal the bodies, they retreated in horror and hid in the distance to watch.
But Jesus walked to the tomb and beckoned, and a leaf floated in the air, and landed on Lazarus' face wrapped in white cloth. Then he untied the skin from his waist, took a mouthful of water and sprayed it out. A mist fell on the "corpse" and the leaf, and the leaf moved slightly, and a weak voice came from below: "God, where am I, why can't I move?"
The nearest onlookers heard the voice and cried out in horror: "Oh my God!
Mary and her sister Martha had already pounced, reached out to untie the white cloth that had wrapped her brother, and lifted the pale Lazarus out of the tomb. The young man looked very weak, but he was indeed alive in the sun!
...... The news of Jesus' miraculous power to raise the dead quickly spread throughout Bethany. Although Jesus told the sisters Martha and Mary that Lazarus did not actually die, it was only a temporary phenomenon of suspended animation. But people don't understand this and still prefer to believe the "facts" they see with their own eyes.
Jesus literally brought a buried dead man back to life from the tomb in broad daylight. He couldn't explain it to everyone, and he couldn't explain it in real life. The so-called fake death is also a real death in the eyes of people, otherwise the Ma sisters would not have accepted the fact that they buried their living brother in the cemetery.
Naturally, those who follow Jesus and who are grateful and respectful of Jesus are more willing to preach such a miracle and bring the dead back to life, which is certainly more amazing than rescuing someone who has not yet died. It was from this day that more and more people began to think that Jesus was appointed by God to deliver them from their suffering. This unexpected event brought Jose Jesus an unprecedented sensational influence and great popular popularity.
Mary's village was on the outskirts of the city-state of Bethany, across the river from Josus's hometown of Bethlehem, and further north was the city of Salem. And Jesus, with his disciples, finally stopped their continuous trek and settled in this village for the time being, using it as a base to preach to the people the true guidance of the Aroha faith.
Joshua tried to awaken the power of the Source for those who had true faith and told all the people the way to heaven or heaven by publicly reading the Bible of the people of Salem in the village synagogues. At the same time, some people are increasingly reluctant to hear Jesus preach and to see Jesus appear.
In particular, the Salem priests, who had made all sorts of rules to bind them, were the last to see someone like Josus. For Jesus told the people: "The way we treat others is far more important than the rules of how we wash our hands and what we eat." β
The priests of Salem forbade Jesus to teach the scriptures in the synagogue, so he went out into the field to teach to the disciples and the people, and Mary became one of his most devout followers.
On the other side of the river is his home, and a short distance north is the city of Salem, so why did Jesus stay in this village outside Bethany? The disciples did not know the purpose of the guide, and Jesus was building up his strength. The power is not to be strong enough to overcome anyone, but to spread the faith that he spreads into the hearts of the people as much as possible, and he also wants to spend as much time as possible with Mary.
By saving Lazarus' life, Jesus actually granted Mary's request at the well. Mary asked Jesusβhow to repay him?, and Jesus smiled and said, "I want you to give me a gift." β
Mary said, "Whatever gift you want, just tell me and I will do everything I can to find it and present it to you." β
Still laughing, "You have already given it to me, remember that package from Vivi, the blue cloth that wrapped the food is your turban, can I keep it?"
Mary quickly replied, "Of course." β
After answering these words, Mary withdrew from the place where Jesus was and came to a place where no one was, and then her face turned red and her heart pounded. What kind of metaphor and implication is it for an adult man to ask a girl for her headscarf as a gift? If it were someone else, Mary would naturally have a normal reverie.
But she didn't dare think that about Jesus. In the minds of followers, Jesus represents God's existence and proclaims God's faith. A Samaritan woman like Mary did not even dare to touch him easily, but could only silently look up to his brilliance with a pious heart.
Mary was indeed a very loyal follower, and she often asked Jesus all kinds of questions, and he would answer them in public, the most famous of which was about how people should pray, and this question and answer had to do with the big bear named Vivi.
Jesus often led prayer and meditation after preaching, purifying the soul with focused introspection. It is also a ritual of awakening power, and only those who are gifted and have pious faith can be able to awaken the power of the source. Vivi did not understand these complex preaching, but he was a most faithful listener, and at this time, he would kneel down and hold a pair of front paws to his chest in a pious prayer, and even became a sight to behold around Jesus.
The fact that Jesus' preaching was able to make a bear listen so devout became one of his "miracles" that people preached, and many people came to see the surprise, and then were moved by Jesus' preaching and became his followers.
In fact, when it comes to prayer rituals, the rituals in the Salem temple are more complete and complex, and they are much more solemn and sacred than the way Jesus' was held in the wilderness. When the priests in Bethany heard the bear's story, they mocked the people: "Is Jesus a demagogue, who made people pray like a bear, to make them as ignorant as bears?"
Someone else said, "Is it meaningful to let a trained bear pretend to pray to attract people to his preaching?
This kind of questioning was tricky, and Mary couldn't help but ask Jesus, "Dear guide, how should we pray?
Jesus smiled, stood up, and said something that surprised everyone: "Actually, it's more important when you don't pray!"
Seeing the confusion, Jesus explained, "What is the purpose of our prayers to God, to purify our souls, not to tell God how to believe in Him." The result of purifying the soul is reflected in your usual words and actions, in how you treat others. What kind of person you will become means whether you truly believe in God.
You don't have to imitate Vivi the bear, but you shouldn't laugh at him, your prayer is just your prayer. Vivi may not know what we're praying for, but he once spent three days and three nights with food in his mouth to save his adopted benefactor, and invited me here. This bear sees himself as a human and knows how to treat others better than most. β
Jesus answered the question with a frank and sharp response, so that believers could understand what true prayer is. When the news reached the priests in Bethany, they were alarmed and angry. One elder said: "Jesus must be stopped, for if this continues, I am afraid that all will follow him." β
Another priest said, "It would be better to get rid of him or imprison him, but what kind of charges or excuses can be used?"
Another priest said, "It is rumored that Jesus, who has the power to raise the dead, has never been shown by a magician, and that he must be the embodiment of Satan! No one will be frightened to hear this news, and strangers will stay away from him and avoid him. β
