Chapter 601: Practicing the Dharma
After the three major divine arrow cavalry formations of the Tribal Cavalry Legion were destroyed by the unexpected enemy, Xuanluan, the entire ground battlefield was divided into two parts.
With this hillside as the center, part of it is the Tiefu Tu that rolled down into more than a dozen deep ditches dug by the Wind Roar Army, Huang Chengyu led a group of archers and crossbowmen to approach the deep ditch at the first time, and sent all the Tiefu Tu who were still dying and struggling to return to the west, doing a good deed every day.
More than a dozen deep ditches were full, all of them were black war horses and the corpses of the Tiefutu cavalry, blood was flowing everywhere, and the iron drills inserted below were far from enough, and the Tiefutu war horses above were not killed by the iron drills, but were crushed to death by the companions who fell behind.
The most majestic war horse carefully selected in this Angon tribe is tall, strong, muscular, and the weight of a war horse can reach more than 1,800 catties, plus the thin iron armor on its back, the weight of the cavalry itself when the war horse gallops can almost reach more than 2,000 catties, which is equivalent to a huge boulder with a height of one zhang and a width of several feet!
Thousands of boulders of this weight rolled down, and the impact caused by the wild rush was terrifying, and it was unimaginable impact. They swooped down the hillside with them, unable to stop running at all, and all of them squeezed into a deep ravine, and the horses and cavalry below were naturally skewered into meat skewers by iron drills, and the necks of the horses and cavalry in the middle were crushed, and their heads were crushed.
Even if the iron floating slaughter stacked on top of the deep ditch was not crushed to death, it was wounded and broken, and the waist and legs were broken, the horse's mouth was panting, and white mist was sprayed out in the ice and snow, and the cavalry was pressed by the war horse, and the bones were broken and the muscles were injured, and they were constantly wailing and moaning, regardless of the people and horses, only the last breath was left.
But this breath of theirs soon became a desperate sigh, because Huang Chengyu rushed over with the group of archers and crossbowmen, and shot through their heads with arrows and crossbows, cutting off their remaining breath and hope, and the horror in their eyes disappeared with the blood, and the black iron armor and the red blood staggered and infiltrated in the vast snow, so a dozen deep ditches became their tragic and gorgeous graveyards.
But the other part of the battlefield is difficult to describe, participating in the melee are the infantry of the Wind Roar Army, the thick shields and spears of the heavy infantry, the blades of the light infantry, and some archers and crossbowmen, and the artillery battalion found that the artillery was no longer effective after the bombardment at the beginning of the battle, and also raised their sabers and rushed up.
And their enemies were the cavalry fleeing from the Divine Archery Formation and the 30,000 ordinary cavalry behind them, and their archery skills were in front of the spears and thick shields, and their attack power was instantly reduced a lot.
Even the Ice Arrows and Thunder Arrows, in the face of the melee combat next to the Wind Roar Army, lost the protection of a sufficient distance and the defense and attack power blessed by the magic circle, and the arrow shooting was difficult to play the original miraculous effect, not to mention that the Wind Roar Army infantry had obviously undergone early tactical training, and generally used the most hated move of the cavalry: cutting the horse's hooves.
Once the cavalry loses its mount, the combat effectiveness will be greatly reduced, if these cavalry are good at long-distance archery and archery, then after he falls from the horse, he will find that the speed of the bow and the arrow is far less than the attack speed of the spear and the sword, the arrow is not effective, the string is not full of the moon, the spear and the knife will come quickly, piercing the chest, wiping the neck, blood splattering, blood spilling the sky, the heat turns into white mist, reflecting the miserable white light in the vast snowfield.
Of course, the cavalry galloped into the Windroar infantry, trampling and kicking the enemies in front of them, and many of them also had short-bladed protection, as well as the shooting of the remnants of the Archers, and the Windroar infantry continued to die tragically.
The stalemate was still the ordinary tribal cavalry and the cavalry of the Wind Roar Army led by Hun Jian Shingo, and the cavalry on both sides had their own advantages, and at the moment of the staggered charge, they fell from each other's horses and were killed and injured.
However, in such a melee, the Sword-Walled Iron Floating Cavalry, which lost its iron wall, broke up the most important killer Arrow Cavalry Brigade, and the Wind Roar Army gradually gained the upper hand on the battlefield, and the damage of the Tribal Cavalry Corps became more and more serious.
Especially after Huang Chengyu quickly cleaned up the deep ditch battlefield of Tiefutu, he led all the archers and crossbowmen to rush into the melee battlefield, and the power of the Thousand Machine Crossbow further expanded the advantage of the Wind Roar Army.
Nusanha led the last twenty or thirty generals of the tribal cavalry to besiege Yifeng and Shuli, and his face was extremely ugly after seeing this scene, and just when he hesitated to retreat, he saw that thirty or forty Buddhist monks suddenly rose to the sky in the rear of the Wind Roar army, and rushed towards them with great momentum, despair crept into his heart.
"Withdraw!"
Nusanha could no longer bear this kind of tragic loss of soldiers and horses, he looked at the Tiefutu that filled a dozen deep ditches several zhang wide, looked at the corpses of cavalry and war horses everywhere in the air, and thousands of arrows scattered all over the ground, his heart was dripping blood, and the loss and death of one-third of the cavalry corps of the tribe of Angon Erzhou and the Divine Arrow Brigade were here, he didn't know how to explain to the commander guarding the northern border, let alone how to report to the imperial court.
But if we don't withdraw now, I'm afraid that the remaining soldiers and horses will be wiped out, alas, the matter has come to this point, and I have to give up.
The arrogance given to him by the tribal cavalry legion was gone, and he originally thought that leading 50,000 tribal cavalry would be able to deal a devastating blow to the so-called Wind Howler army, but reality gave him a heavy punch.
After he shouted the order to retreat hoarsely, he fled with the remaining generals in disgrace, and the tribal cavalry on the battlefield successively left the battlefield and retreated in the direction of due north, and in less than a while, the tribal cavalry all withdrew from the battlefield, and it seemed that there were 50,000 tribal cavalry, and only less than 10,000 remnants were scattered.
On the ground, Huang Chengyu and Hun Jian Zhenwu and other ten thousand monks of the Wind Roar Army looked up at the sky, and the figures of the dozens of Mahayana Buddhist monks who flew away also stopped abruptly, looking at Yifeng and Shuli.
Shuli was about to command the Wind Roar Army to pursue and kill the tribal cavalry, just like the Shenwu Army that had gone after Dong Han who ambushed them in the Kado Ravine, but was stopped by a wave of his hand.
Since something like Master Sada happened, Yifeng has a deeper view of many things, Yifeng looked at the fleeing tribal cavalry, there was no joy of victory in his heart, compassion for the heavens and people, the first thing to do is not to kill them all.
In the past, he may have been wrong, he thought that the Wind Roar Army was a division that defended Buddhism and Taoism, and it would also deal a fatal blow to the Dawu Army that launched a crazy attack on them.
However, after what happened to Venerable Sada, he truly realized that the essence of the Wind Roar Army was a group of monks formed by Buddhist monks, and no matter when and where, they must put the compassion and compassion of Buddhism in the first place.
In the past, he thought that he could chase and fight the enemy like the Great Martial Army, but this kind of pursuit would unconsciously affect the hearts of all the Buddhist monks of the Wind Roar Army, and his small decision, there must be many Buddhist monks watching and imitating, and it is likely to make this defense army become a crazy army of slaughtering and violence.
Shuli glanced at Yifeng, instantly guessed his thoughts, nodded slowly, and said to the Mahayana Buddhist monks behind him: "The hard work of the masters has been in ambush for a long time, and I thought there would be a big battle, but these generals of the tribal cavalry really did not comprehend the essence of cultivation, and their strength was mediocre, and Yifeng and I were enough to contain them." In that case, please go back to the barracks to rest first. ”
Yifeng turned his head and said, "Elders, please wait. ”
He looked at Shuli and said: "Fourth Senior Brother, although we don't go to chase and kill the tribal cavalry, but the monks of the Beizong Temple over there in Alzhai are still fighting, and later you will lead 20,000 soldiers and horses in good condition to support, and I and the elders will go to support the monks of the Beizong Temple first." ”
Shuli nodded, Yifeng looked at them, and said, "What do you think of the elders?" ”
After Elder Jueyi and other Buddhist monks went through the matter of Venerable Sada, they were indeed shocked by Yifeng's Buddhist cultivation, which is not a superficial cultivation strength, or even a comprehension of the Dharma, but a sincere, pious and sincere practice of the Dharma.
It is easy to know and difficult to do, and comprehending the Dharma is the only way for many Buddhist monks to cultivate to Mahayana, but they really did not have the same compassion and compassion in the Buddhist temple practice in this war, they were originally the enlightened monks of various Buddhist temples, and they were highly respected, but now they are increasingly angry and murderous, and in their hearts, the comprehension of the Dharma is layered under the external thoughts of war exploits, loyalty, hatred, life and death, etc., and the practice of Buddhism has become the most insignificant thing.
The four major aggregates are empty, the five aggregates are empty, and now they are infected by these external thoughts.
At the beginning of the Sangha Tribulation, the first ability to observe the process of birth, dwelling, and extinction of all karmic karma with bodhichitta can be understood, and the method of understanding the causes and conditions of partial rebirths and the causes of breaking rebirths, in order to cultivate great compassion.
The second asangha, who is able to know the causes of all karmic births and the method of breaking off the causes of birth, has all wisdom, but cannot yet use all wisdom to transform sentient beings at all times, so as to cultivate great wisdom.
The great monk can use all wisdom to transform sentient beings at all times, and cultivate great power.
The Buddha is a combination of great compassion, great wisdom and great power.
At that time, they no longer had great wisdom, compassion and power, and they had long since lost their integrity.
However, in the fierce debate on Master Sada, they suddenly discovered that although there was a person who was decisive on the battlefield, and his tactics and combat methods could even be said to be bloody and cruel, he was the Buddhist monk who really always adhered to the Buddhist path and practiced the Dharma in this war, and he was the real compassionate Buddhist monk, even if his hands were stained with blood and he carried countless souls, his Dao heart was always the cleanest, purest, and most compassionate······
From that snowy night, they suddenly understood the meaning of this war, which was not only a test of life and death, but also a training related to the survival of the Dao heart.
Now, it was the first time that Yifeng had explained his mission to them after the incident with Master Sada, and it was also the time for them to express their intentions to him, and they couldn't let him down, so Elder Jueyi stepped forward and said loudly: "The old monk is willing to strengthen his Dao heart and swear to die!" ”
All the Mahayana monks blurted out in unison: "Firm your heart and swear to die!" ”
