Chapter 309 Shangri-La Island Development Plan

It's all terrible, it's bad news.

A moment later

Li Sixian rubbed his head with a headache and muttered; "Get me drunk and slip away, don't catch these two bunnies, or you'll want these two guys to look good."

"Are the two little brothers you just knew?"

"Team Leader He, can you pretend to be sluggish, this will make me feel that there are no secrets to keep, and there is no face, which is really very shocking!"

"Yes, it looks like you're completely fine." He Quanshou immediately changed the topic.

"Team Leader ...... He"

"You're welcome, just call me the full-lived brother, I checked your birthday, it's exactly 1 year, 1 month and 1 day longer than me."

"Uh......"

Li Sixian looked at He Quanshou in a daze, and said with a wry smile; "Brother Quanshou, I really have a splitting headache now and can hardly think, and when I go back, I have to quickly report to Shangfeng to ask for guilt, there are a lot of things on my body, my brother won't say thank you, and I won't keep you here."

"Okay, I'll have to deal with this time anyway."

"Brother Quanshou, can you not mention this stubble, my head is about to explode."

"Hey......

……

Shangri-La Island is a vast island, and according to the latest instructions of the earl, its administrative region has been divided into two provinces, namely the Eastern and Western Shangri-La provinces, and the Grand Governor Wu Xuewen has coordinated the development plan for targeted migration.

Among them

Eastern Shangri-La Province (Papua New Guinea) covers an area of 462,840 square kilometres, with a coastline of 8,300 kilometres and more than 600 islands.

The coastal islands are mostly mountainous, located on the edge of the Pacific Rim Seismic Zone, with many volcanoes and frequent earthquakes, including the eastern part of Shangri-La Island (or New Guinea Island, Irian Island), New England Island, New Ireland Island, Mannas Island, Bougainville Island, Buca Island, etc.

Shangri-La East Province has a population of 47,600 people, with its only town in Moresby, and its population is rapidly expanding with the continuous influx of immigrants.

According to the 10-year development plan;

It is planned to build seven farming towns along the wide inland rivers in the southern slope of the central mountain range across Shangri-La Island, where the climate is relatively cool and pleasant, with annual precipitation of about 2,500 mm, and the climate is between 18 and 25 degrees.

These seven new farming towns were named by the Earl himself, and were named Tianshu, Tianxuan, Tianji, Tianquan, Yuheng, Kaiyang, and Yaoguang according to the 7 stars of the ancient Chinese Big Dipper, implying that the seven stars shine in East Shangri-La Province and will become a blessed land for immigrants to live and work in peace and contentment.

Seven agricultural towns are lined up, ranging from 780 to more than 100 kilometers apart, with a total planned area of about 120,000 square kilometers and about 670 kilometers from the capital Moresby.

The only mode of transport connecting the capital city of Moresby to the town of Seven Stars is water transport, which is planned to run along the wide Qingshui River (formerly the Frye River) and its well-developed tributaries.

The Qingshui River (formerly the Frye River) is one of the major rivers in the southern part of Shangri-La Island, originating on the southern slopes of the Start Mountains in the Victor Iman Mountains in the Central Highlands, and flows southward, then turns southeast, and finally joins the Papua Bay in the Coral Sea.

Its numerous tributaries stretch out like the branches of a large tree, forming a dense network of waterways that provide the prerequisites for well-developed waterway transport.

Qixing Town is planned along the main stream of the Qingshui River (formerly the Fry River), which is lined up in the shape of a spoon, and is connected by developed water transportation, which is a fertile soil for the development of agriculture.

The Qingshui River (formerly the Frye River) is the largest river in Oceania and the longest island river in the world, with a total length of 1,050 kilometers in its main stream.

At 1,290 kilometres, the Strickland River, a tributary, is the longest island river in the world. The river basin covers an area of 76,000 square kilometers, with an average annual flow of 6,000 cubic meters per second.

For a brief comparison, it is about 10 times the average annual flow of the Yellow River.

From the Papua Gulf in the Coral Sea, the wide Qingshui River (formerly the Frye River) has a navigable mileage of nearly 900 kilometers, of which about 700 kilometers can be navigated year-round for inland waterway vessels with a draft of 3 meters and less than 1,000 tons.

Today, this vast area is completely pristine, and it took more than ten years to complete this huge project by retiring immigrants to develop it step by step.

The development plan of the whole Seven Star Town is from easy to difficult, the first to build is Tianshu Town, the meaning of Tianshu Town is very good, it can be described as a hub town given by God, and will be built as the primary port town for inland shipping from the Coral Sea.

This is an inland river port located in the lower reaches of the Qingshui River, only more than 40 kilometers away from the Coral Sea, due to the nearby plateau and mountain barrier, the Qingshui River with abundant water flow forms a bend here, the nearby water surface is wide, the water depth is more than 12 meters, and the 10,000-ton ships can pass unimpeded.

From this place back to more than 100 kilometers of inland waterways, due to the accumulation of siltation over countless years, the water depth conditions have deteriorated sharply, and only inland waterway ships below 3,000 tons can pass.

Therefore, highlighting the superior geographical location of Tianshu Town, which belongs to the core position of the dragon head in the whole basin of the Qingshui River, the construction of Tianshu Town is the key to the development of the "Seven Star Lianzhu Town" plan.

Tianshu Town plans to build a river-sea intermodal port, where agricultural products and special products from inland towns and villages will be transported to Tianshu Port through inland vessels of less than 1,000 tons, where 10,000 tons of sea vessels will be loaded and sailed to all over the world.

Rice, tobacco and sugar can only be shipped by ship to meet demand from mainland Australia and the Far East and the South Seas.

Tianshu Town will be built into an inland freight distribution center, a commercial center, an entertainment and cultural center and an industrial center, and a leading town in the Qingshui River Basin.

According to the current five-year development plan, it will take two years to build Tianshu Town, which has a scale of no less than 50,000 people, and to build a complete river-sea intermodal port and ship repair industry, which is the core hotspot for the next step of immigration.

On this basis, further development along the Qingshui River to the inland.

A large number of immigrants were sent to burn the wasteland and build basic farmland facilities, plantations, bridges and roads, and gradually open up this primitive area, building it into a well-known rice granary.

Within the five-year plan, two towns of Tianxuan and Tianji will be built one after another, laying a good foundation for further inland development.

Through the first five-year plan, the development achievements have been consolidated, and the development has been accelerated on the basis of a certain degree of self-development ability.

In the next five-year plan, the four inland towns of Tianquan, Yuheng, Kaiyang, and Yaoguang will be developed at the rate of one town a year, and the total population will reach between 70~800,000 people within 10 years, and try to challenge the scale of one million people.

From the perspective of 20 or even 30 years of long-term planning

This fertile land suitable for agriculture can accommodate more than 6 million immigrants, and the future development prospects are extremely promising, comparable to the rich Jiangnan.

Tobacco and sugar, two cash crops that are in wide demand worldwide, will also be the backbone of Shangri-La East Province's agricultural development, with the envisioned cigarette and sugar factories also becoming industrial pillars, as well as shipbuilding and fishing, enough to support millions of people.

Another important rice industry, the grain produced will continue to be imported into Australia, providing sufficient staple food for more and more Chinese immigrants, and more than 300,000 school boys in the "Eagle Plan" in northern China will also be provided with rice staple food by this region in the future.

Australia is a world-class ranch, and Shangri-La Island will be built into a world-class farm, relying on local resources to develop a characteristic economy and gradually develop and grow.

West Shangri-La Province, also known as Irian Jaya, formerly known as "West Irian", is located on Shangri-La Island (Irian Island) west of 141° east longitude.

Its area includes the nearby islands of Sezan, Yapong, Wegu and Mysool, covering an area of 422,000 square kilometers. With a population of 22,400, mainly independent Chinese immigrants from Jiangxi and Guangdong, the capital is Jayapura, the only town in the province today.

The snow-capped mountains in the interior of West Shangri-La Province are traversed by four ice peaks near the equator, with Chaya Peak at 5,030 meters above sea level, the highest peak on the island.

The mountainous area has a good climate and is one of the areas with the most favorable conditions for the development of agriculture, and it is also a key area for future development, but it is not taken into account at the moment, and it is not even included in the ten-year development plan.

Wu Xuewen, the governor of Shangri-La Island, was able to get very little support from the earl, because the Australian mainland is a key development area at present, and the development momentum is more gratifying, and Shangri-La can only get a little leftovers.

Therefore, at present, we can only concentrate on the development of the 7-star town plan as the top priority of the current development.

Other areas can only be put on hold for the future.

Within the vast territory of Shangri-La West Province, the southern part is a vast marshy plain area, with dense natural primeval rainforests and inaccessible human tracks, a paradise for animals, birds and plants, and rich and diverse natural landscapes.

The northern part is a low mountain and plain, which is also a good place to develop rural industries, but it is not possible to take care of it at present.

There are countless coral reefs and sand spits along the coast, as well as many natural harbors, most of which are deserted and still in a pristine state for thousands of years.

When the Dutch landing force was met head-on off the coast of Jayapura, the light cruiser "Seven Provinces" led the landing fleet to escape overnight and landed in a bay in the western area of the Bird's Head Peninsula, escaping the ensuing screen-like search.

Not immersive, not at all aware of how many bays suitable for landing there are in the coastal area near Jayapura?

The large bays are nestled with small bays, and there are simply too many to count.

On the western side of the Bird's Head Peninsula, across the strait is the island of Sulawesi, and now the Jayapura Marine District has sent a team of more than 130 people to the island to set up an outpost.

Sulawesi is located in the middle of Shangri-La and Borneo, where the Dutch have ruled for more than 200 years, but there are only a few hundred white people on the island, and there is a white colonial administration of more than 20 people, ruling over more than 100,000 indigenous peoples.

The Netherlands has few small people, and the vast territory of the East Indies cannot be developed for another thousand years, which is really a waste.
