Historically, Bulgaria was actually pro-German and pro-Turkish, but in this life Germany sold Bulgaria to Turkey and Romania for its own interests. Who told Germany to take so much oil in Romania? In the end, it was only possible to exchange territory for these resources.

When German tanks and armoured vehicles entered Croatia, they were greeted warmly by the locals, who were clearly overwhelmed and did not even know how to respond to such a warm spectacle of hordes of invaders preparing bombs and artillery and hundreds of planes in response to the resistance, only to be greeted by applause of flowers and the cheers of countless citizens.

"I couldn't believe my eyes, dear Mom. In a letter to his mother, a German soldier wrote: "When I swore an oath to the flag, I made up my mind that even if the Führer asked me to do anything inhumane for Germany, I would try to do it - and now this fear was completely unnecessary, and I knew that I was doing the right thing, that I was here, that the locals welcomed me, that they threw me flowers, that the girls smiled at me, that God could testify that I had become a hero here." ”

Another real thing happened the day after the German occupation of the entire territory of Croatia. What happened was quite bizarre: several British lurkers intent on attacking the Germans hid in their houses to make explosives and liaise with men to prepare for an ambush on the German logistics and transport units. It was very hidden, and they rarely came out of their houses, so no one found out what they were thinking.

However, when the British sleepers went out to eat, a thief visited the empty house, and when he saw the bombs and submachine guns in the house, he left the house without moving. The local Croatian thief quickly found the German occupation forces and returned to the room with 70 heavily armed German soldiers.

The desperate British sleepers were eventually killed in a fierce shootout, and the rest knew they were going to die, so they eventually detonated the explosives and committed suicide to reduce their suffering. It is estimated that when they died, they would not have thought that it was a local or a thief who betrayed them.

Of course, the battle broke out in the process of the German army moving south, and the resistance of the Yugoslavs was very stubborn, although they had lost a lot of weapons and equipment in the battle with the Italian army, but they still bravely attacked the German armored forces for the sake of their homeland.

They hastily organized the defensive line, dug trenches and fortified some of the machine-gun pillboxes, but when the magnificent body of the Leopard tank appeared on the battlefield, the Yugoslavs were defeated. They were no longer faced with the Italians, who were powerful but chaotic, but with well-organized and perfectly coordinated German troops, and the Stuka bombers that fell from the sky even dared to drop bombs a few dozen meters in front of the German army, and this terrible attack coordination was beyond the Yugoslav army's parry no matter what.

In the sky, above the clouds, a Stuka swooped down, followed by a second, a third, and finally ten, or even twenty. These planes, which were already slightly outdated, have given their second youth in the backward land of the Balkans. Here they brazenly approach the ground target, using the most precise throwing method to destroy the target they see. Yugoslav ground anti-aircraft fire was weak and scattered, and in no way could affect the combat operations of German aircraft.

The friendly welcome ceremonies were no longer present, and there were fleeing civilians crowded on both sides of the road. With a pair of frightened eyes, they watched as the German armored combat vehicles whizzed by, rolling up the dust. The first to appear in front of people's eyes were the wheeled armored reconnaissance vehicles of the German armored forces, which were the vanguard of the German tank forces. The armoured vehicles were accompanied by one sidecar after another, as well as trucks loaded with grenadiers and T-26 tanks covering them. These troops did not stop to take care of the civilians on both sides of the road, and they rushed forward in a hurry, chasing the routed Yugoslav regular army.

"Hey, does anyone know German?" said a German captain as an open-top barrel truck pulled to a halt on the side of the road, turning to the terrified Yugoslav refugees.

No one answered him, and everyone looked indifferently at the German, who had stood up and shouted to them. Someone saw the German guard in the passenger seat holding an assault rifle, and several civilians who were afraid of the sudden outbreak of the German army and killed people involuntarily took two steps back into the crowd.

"Does anyone know how to go to the next town, the town with a bridge?" the German officer shouted again, as if he was not giving up. It seems that his efforts are still in vain, because there is still no one to answer his questions.

"Damn! none of these people speak German. "Not all invasions can be fully prepared, and the long-term cooperation between the German army and the Soviet Union has made it impossible for the German army to have many Russian-speaking people. At the same time, because the European region is not very large, French and English are relatively popular languages. And because of the rise of Germany, there are many people who can speak German.

This gave a certain cultural basis to the German invasion: the Germans spoke many foreign languages, they could ensure that every unit was equipped with qualified interpreters, some well-planned attacks, and even language preparation had spread to the platoon and even squad level. But apparently not many Germans knew Serbian, at least not many in this German armored force.

The German captain eventually gave up on the question, arrived from behind and parked in an armored car next to him, where a commander took off his headset and waited for the captain to give him new orders. He turned his head to look at the commander and said, "These people are obviously unwilling to cooperate with our actions, there is no way, we can only find a place for ourselves." ”

"Captain, I searched 7 kilometers to the east and then continued south. The commander of the armored car nodded and replied, "Until I see the river, then I will return west along the river, and if I find the target town, I will inform all the troops nearby." ”

"Okay! I'll keep going along the road!—maybe I'll find something!" the captain reluctantly agreed with the commander's plan. The commander gave a casual traditional military salute, then patted the turret tin and pressed the throat intercom to give the order: "Turn left and search east." ”

The armored car spewed black exhaust fumes that filled everyone. The quality of gasoline in Germany has not been too high, after all, Germany is still a country that lacks oil reserves, and it has to save some money. Even the tank units, which were regarded as trump cards by the German leadership, had to use gasoline engines because of the lack of fuel products, not to mention the reconnaissance units attached to the armored forces.

The German barrel car also started, and with the roar of the engine, the two German vehicles parted ways, one car continued south along the road, and the other armored car drove off the road and left along the other dirt road into the distance.

This group of refugees had just recently been looted by a Yugoslav army of its own, and it was only after they handed over their belongings and food to drive away the defeated Yugoslav army.

"Shut up!" an elderly man snorted: "These people are invaders no matter what they say! We can't have anything to do with them! Let's keep going, just don't stir up trouble! You know?"

In fact, there were people in this team who knew German, and this old man could speak some German, but they were unwilling to cooperate with the German army, so they pretended not to know German, and did not talk to each other on the principle that more is better than less. In the war, there are not many people who stand up to fight to the death, and those who defect to the enemy and treason are also a minority, many ordinary people are actually just living a similar life in peacetime, the only difference is that some of these ordinary people fled because they fled to avoid the war, and some became people who lost their country because they could not leave their homeland.

They don't choose to support the invaders, or even make trouble for them as much as they can - they don't work actively, and they live in a mess all day long. But if they really let them take up arms to resist, they will never dare, they have their own lives, and as long as the peace is not broken, they will survive. This is not unpatriotic, but the inevitable trajectory of an ordinary life.

What drove the common people to really embark on the path of resistance was brutal oppression. He gave hope to most people, so most people chose to live in peace. Resistance is bound to exist, but it is confined to a small and tolerable area.
