Chapter Eighty-Five: Saving People

Like the courtyard, the castle's doors were open, and Al and Hermione made their way up the stairs to the castle's halls. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. biqUgE怂 ļ½‰ļ½Žļ½†ļ½

There are also many stone statues here, and surrounded by these stone statues, a wide stone staircase leads to the second floor.

Although the hall is not covered with snow like the outside world, it is still bitterly cold, and there is smooth ice and shiny icicles everywhere, like a world of ice.

"It's like an ice cave. Hermione rubbed her hands together and said, "Why would the White Witch like this?"

"Maybe it's because of the character. Al shrugged, "Judging by what she's done, her heart is as cold as the ice and snow. ā€

They looked around and also found several entrances that led to different places.

"Where shall we go?" asked Hermione, "there is the White Witch's bedchamber upstairs, and we had better not go up there, I don't want to be caught by her." ā€

"Hmm...... Let me think about it......" Al touched his chin before saying, "According to normal thinking, the place where prisoners are held should be in the dungeon, and maybe the castle of the White Witch is no exception. ā€

Al and Hermione looked around, and sure enough, at an entrance, they found a staircase that spiraled downward. They descended the stairs to the dungeon.

As soon as they descended the stairs, they saw an ugly monster sitting on a chair and sleeping soundly, and it seemed that it was supposed to be the guard of the dungeon.

The monster was unaware of the El and their arrival, and it was snoring loudly and had a large, disgusting snot bubble on its nose!

"It's all petrified!"

El apparently didn't want it to bother them, and simply solved it with a petrification charm.

After defeating the monsters, Al and Hermione went to the dungeon, but it was more appropriate to call it an ice dungeon than a dungeon.

Because it was colder than any other place Al had been before.

Despite wearing a heavy fur coat, Hermione shivered as she waved her wand and conjured a ball of blue flame.

The flames not only illuminate the dungeons, but also provide them with a limited temperature.

In a cell at the end of the dungeon, they eventually found a sheep monster huddled in a corner, and it was Tumnath.

Tumnas, his eyes closed and his face haggard, shivering, his hooves still heavily shackled. Hearing footsteps, Tumnath opened his eyes and saw El and them.

"How could it be you?" Tumnath was shocked, "how did you get here, and weren't you discovered by the White Witch?"

"We're here to save you. Al said as he pointed his wand at the iron door of the room and whispered, "Alajo Cave open!"

Tumnath looked at Al in shock, and the wand in his hand.

"Original...... Turns out you're a wizard too!?"

"Don't be afraid!" said Al as he walked into the cell, crouched down and opened the shackles on Tumnath's hooves with his wand, "We are not like the White Witches, wizards are good and bad, and we are the good ones. ā€

Al picked Tumnath up and led him out of his cell.

"I believe in you. Tumnath nodded and said, "Can you defeat the White Witch then?"

"I'm sorry, I haven't met her, but I know from your words that she must be a witch with very strong mana. Al looked at him a little embarrassed, shook his head with a wry smile, and said, "With our current ability, we really can't help. ā€

"Don't talk about that. Hermione said, "Let's get out of here, I'm afraid the White Witch will find us at any time!"

"Don't worry. Al shook his head and said, "Since we're all here, we should rescue Edmund by the way." ā€

"Mr. Tumnas, do you know where Edmund is?" Al asked.

"Edmund Lucy's brother...... Tumnas's face was a little off, and he hesitated for a moment before he said, "I've seen him before, in the dungeon, but he's been taken away by the White Witch." ā€

"Took it, where did you take it?" asked Al.

"Edmund told the White Witch something, so the White Witch took Edmund to the Stone Table. "But the White Witch told me that the reason I was arrested was because Edmund betrayed me...... Do you really want to save such a person?"

Al shook his head, and he said, "Not only did Edmund betray you, he also told the White Witch about our whereabouts, and just before we came, the White Witch's wolves attacked us. ā€

"But no matter what, he's Lucy's brother, and we can't leave him alone. ā€

As he spoke, El and the others had already walked through the dungeon and returned to the castle hall again.

Looking at the stone statues in the hall, Tumnath asked curiously, "Since you are also wizards, is there a way to change these people back to their normal appearance?"

"Originally, I thought the White Witch was still in the castle, so I just thought about sneaking you out, but now that the White Witch has left the castle, I can give it a try. ā€

Al looked at the nearest stone statue, a tall male centaur with a bow drawn and apparently petrified by the White Witch as he tried to shoot an arrow.

Al touched the back of his horse, which was as hard as stone.

"The White Witch's petrification spell is different from ours, but since it's all spells, my spells should have some effect. Al said, pointing his wand at the centaur and whispering, "Stop!"

The centaur's originally stiff body instantly softened at a speed visible to the naked eye after the spell, and the gray-white substance on his body that was like a stone quickly peeled off and detached.

With a hiss, the centaur finally came to life.

The centaur remembered being petrified by the White Witch, and when he regained consciousness, he first looked blankly at El and them, and then began to look around in shock.

"Who are you, where am I?" the centaur asked in a strong voice.

"Shhhhh Tumnath approached the centaur and whispered, "These two are the honorable wizards, and they saved you from the petrification of the White Witch!"

Al sensed that since he knew their identities, Tumnas's attitude towards them had become as if he had always been inferior to them.

The centaur apparently remembered the painful experience, and he placed his right hand across his chest and solemnly saluted Al.

"I'm Asaph, and thank you so much for your help, Master Sorcerer. ā€

It was the first time that such a big courtesy had been performed, which made Al a little embarrassed, he smiled and waved his hand, and said, "You're welcome, it's just a gesture." ā€
