Chapter 35: A Conversation with Hyland
"Your Highness, do you really plan to go out like this?" or ......?"
Manto looked at Eren and suddenly had a headache again. Looking at Manto's appearance, Alan comforted him: "Priest Manto, don't be nervous, you can rest assured, there will definitely be no problems at this time." ā
The main reason is that Alan feels that he really covers himself tightly, and there are a bunch of people around him, which is called eye-catching, so it is better to simply go out directly, but it is not easy to be noticed.
Seeing that Eren was so persistent, and the sky outside was getting dark, and the people who were still active on the holy mountain were basically patrolling guards, Manto finally agreed to Alan's request.
As Alan expected, after experiencing a huge turmoil, tonight's holy mountain seemed extraordinarily quiet, except for the people who were captured, the rest of the clergy stayed quietly in their houses, and only Allen and his party hurried towards a remote corner on the slightly cold road.
"Your Highness, all the members of the Council of Elders have been imprisoned in the dungeon by us. ā
Hansard suddenly slowed down, pointed to a small and inconspicuous house in front of him, and said to Allen, but the fire around the house made it seem less ordinary than it seemed.
"Why, I'm afraid they won't be able to escape. ā
Thinking that all these annoying guys had come to prison, Allen was still in a rather happy mood, so he casually made a joke with Hansade.
Although it was a joke, it didn't mean to ask a little, and the manpower that Hansard had arranged here did seem to be a bit excessive, and Alan swept it away at a glance, and there were almost 10 people patrolling, and although the secret sentry couldn't be counted accurately for a while, it was definitely not a few.
"The main thing is that I am worried that someone will come to rob the prison, after all, I don't know if there are any enemies lurking. ā
Knowing that Alan didn't mean to ask, Hanssad still explained that these manpower were only temporarily sent after the assassination, and Hanssad was not prepared to arrange so many people here in the dungeon.
Thinking about Comb's assassination of himself and his performance after the failure, Alan shook his head a little helplessly and said to Hansard:
"If there's someone like Kom, the first target is definitely me, not their accomplices. But it doesn't matter, there is no shortage of people anyway. ā
As soon as Hanssad wanted to say that he was going to withdraw some of the people, he was instantly blocked in his throat, looking very embarrassed. Alan also knew that his statement was a bit tricky, so he walked forward quickly.
After a few commands, Alan was able to enter the room, which could already be called a dungeon, but it was still some distance from where the prisoners were actually held.
Hansard spoke with the person in charge for a moment before returning to Alan's side and leading him to the dungeon. Without waiting for Allen to ask, Hansard took the initiative to tell the news he had just asked.
"Your Highness, so far no useful information has been asked, and even Hyland is the only one who admits to being a member of the Council of Elders. ā
"Oh?"
This made Alan a little puzzled in his heart, it was normal not to ask for any news, but it was very strange that there was only Hailan who even recognized his identity, could they still have any hope.
Alan glanced at Manto with a puzzled look, for the various canonical records in the Holy See, Alan is definitely not as familiar with Manto, maybe this one knows the reason.
However, Manto couldn't solve Allen's doubts, and shook his head again and again: "I don't know why they refuse to admit it, it stands to reason that the list under the Pope's crown shouldn't be wrong." ā
couldn't help but roll his eyes, it's not that Edward IV's list must be correct, but with Edward IV's usual style, he is at least eighty percent sure of the people on these lists, if this can make a big mistake, it will really lose Edward IV's face.
"Your Highness, Hailan is being held alone here, and we will go in directly. ā
Hansold pointed to a fork in the road that suddenly appeared and said to Allen.
Alan looked at the passage that continued to lead ahead, and he didn't understand what kind of structure this dungeon was designed into, but it was only a moment of curiosity, and he quickly pulled his mind back on track.
"By the way, Hansard, do you know how Hyland behaved when she was caught, how excited, irritable, or calm?"
"Uh......," Hanssad looked a little strange, "Hyland was very calm when he was captured, and he didn't resist or try to escape, and asked what the reason for his arrest was. ā
"Oh, and what did your people say?"
"Like everyone else, there's no reason. ā
Faced with Alan's questioning eyes, Hansard took the initiative to continue.
Hailan didn't react after hearing this, and was brought over very calmly, compared to the one he should be the easiest to catch. ā
"That's right. ā
After listening to Hanssad's story, Allen's face, which was still full of smiles, suddenly turned cold, according to the information Allen learned from Manto, Highland should be a gloomy and rather short-tempered person.
Alan still has some confidence in dealing with people with this temperament, but judging from the situation at the time of his arrest, the Bishop of Hyland seems to have been a little too calm, and this calmness is not good news for the interrogation.
"Forget it, let's give it a try. ā
Alan didn't think much about it, waved his hand to open the locked cell door, and Hailan, who was wearing an ordinary church robe, was sitting on the smooth and flat stone bed, and after hearing the sound of the door opening, he slowly raised his head and looked at Allen.
Both of them were silent for a while, and then Alan showed a bright smile to Hailan: "Meet again, Bishop Hailan." ā
Hylan stood up, stopped looking up at Allen, gently patted the non-existent dust on the robe, and bowed slightly, but did not salute.
"I didn't expect His Highness the Holy Son to come in person. ā
Alan was stunned, even if he was mentally prepared, but in the face of Hailan's attitude, Alan still felt a tricky feeling, and he didn't know if he could gain anything from Hailan.
"Did you not expect it, or did you think I shouldn't be here?"
Hylan frowned, a little unsure of the meaning of Allen's words.
"Where His Highness the Holy Son wants to appear, that's your freedom, I couldn't control it when I was outside, and now I'm even more powerless. ā
"Oh, is that so? I think you should be a little surprised at this point, after all, I should have returned to the arms of the Nine Holy Spirits. ā
Hailan's expression finally fluctuated greatly, but he slowly sat back on the bed and didn't speak for a long time.
