Chapter 35: The Eve of the Competition
Seeing that Harry was not joking, after a moment of silence, Al nodded and said, "Alright then, Hermione, you stay here with Ron, and I'll accompany Harry to get the book back." Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info"
Hermione and Ron obviously didn't want to see Snape, and when Al said that, they both breathed a sigh of relief and nodded.
"Then I wish you all the best. ”
Al and Harry entered the castle and made their way to the faculty lounge.
Standing outside the door of the staff lounge, Harry whispered, "I wish there were other people in there besides Snape, so he wouldn't embarrass us in front of the other teachers." ”
"I hope so. ”
Harry knocked on the door, but no one answered.
Al and Harry looked at each other, and then Al knocked on the door, but there was still no movement inside.
Al said to Harry, "There's no one inside, let's go." ”
Harry was clearly not giving up, and said, "Maybe Snape left the book in there, and I should give it a try anyway." ”
Al didn't have a reason to stop Harry, so he looked around and nodded after making sure there was no one nearby.
Harry gently twisted the doorknob and pushed it open a small gap, and Al and Harry stuck their heads out at the same time, peeking inside.
The scene inside took them by surprise.
There were only two people in the room, Snape and Filch, and Snape pulled his robe above his knee, one of his legs dripping with blood and flesh.
Filch was handing him a bandage.
"Damn it," Snape said to Filch, "how is it possible to stare at three heads at once?"
Al whispered in Harry's ear, "Before they find out, we'll close the door." ”
Harry nodded, and was about to tiptoe shut the door when Snape spotted him.
"Potter!!"
Snape's face seemed to be distorted, and he quickly lowered his robes to block his injured leg.
Harry gasped for breath and stumbled, "Professor... I was just... I just wanted to know if I could get my book back. ”
"Get out!
Amid Snape's roar, Harry hurriedly closed the door to the common room without waiting for Snape to deduct points from Gryffindor.
Al and Harry ran all the way back to the courtyard outside the castle.
Seeing Al and Harry come back out of breath, Hermione asked suspiciously, "How is it, did you get the book back?"
Al shook his head.
"Did something happen?"
Harry told Hermione and Ron what he had just seen, and he said, "Do you know what that means?"
"On the night of the Halloween dinner, when Ron and I went to look for Hermione, we saw Snape go to the no-go hallway on the fourth floor, he must have wanted to enter the room guarded by the big three-headed dog, and I bet the troll must have been put in by Snape to distract people!"
Hermione's eyes were round.
"No, it can't be. Hermione said, "I know you don't like Snape, but he's not going to steal what Hogwarts is heavily guarded. ”
"Honestly, Hermione, you always think that all teachers are saints. Ron said unceremoniously, "I agree with Harry, I think Snape can do everything, but what is he looking for?
"I think you all have a point. Al said, "But the only thing we know for sure now is that the wound on Snape's leg must have been bitten by the big dog." ”
It was sunny and cold today, and Al and the others wandered around the courtyard for a while before returning to the restaurant.
The enticing smell of grilled sausages fills the room, and everyone chats happily in anticipation of a great Quidditch match.
"You haven't eaten much in the morning. Hermione pointed to the sausage on the plate and said to Harry, "You're going to play in a moment, I think you'd better eat a little more." ”
"But I don't want to eat anything. ”
"Let's have some toast. Ron also advised.
"I'm not hungry. ”
Al smeared the sausage with a thick layer of ketchup and handed it to Harry, saying, "You're going to play in an hour, I think you need to keep your energy up, and you know that the key to winning this fight is on you." ”
Hearing Al say that, Harry barely ate something.
After lunch, Harry went to join up with the rest of the Gryffindor Quidditch squad for a pre-match warm-up before playing.
Al, Hermione, and Ron said goodbye to Harry and went straight to the Quidditch arena and climbed into the stands of Gryffindor House.
The Quidditch pitch is surrounded by a number of tall stands, on which hundreds of chairs are placed so that spectators can see the course.
There are three metal poles at each end of the pitch with rings at the top, and these are the goals. Countless colorful flags representing the college were planted around the stadium and fluttered in the wind.
It seems that all the teachers and students of the school have come to the stands around the stadium, many of the students have brought binoculars, and in addition to them, there are even many wizards who live around, and they have also come here to watch the game.
As the most popular sport in the wizarding world, every Quidditch match is warmly welcomed, and countless people are eagerly anticipating it, hoping to see a great match.
The crowd in the stands was buzzing, and Al and the others made it to the top row of the stands, joining Neville and Seamus. To surprise Harry, they drew a huge banner that read: Potter wins, out of a sheet that has been soiled by Ron's pet, a mouse named 'Spotted'!
One of their classmates, Dean, also drew a large Gryffindor lion on the banner, and then Hermione cast a clever spell to make the paint on the banner shimmer in different colors.
After a short wait, the game finally began, and the Gryffindor and Slytherin players, riding broomsticks, suddenly appeared on the Quidditch pitch and made a show flight around the field.
The audience burst into warm applause and cheers for them.
Lady Hodge, the Quidditch referee at Hogwarts, stands in the middle of the court, broomstick in hand, and waits patiently for the players to be reconciled.
At Madame Hodge's feet was a large box containing four balls of various sizes for the game of Quidditch.
They are: a Quaffle, two Bludgers, and a Golden Snitch.
