The Fifth Bullet of the Eight Cases Continued - Book (Supplement)
There have been many famous people in history who have written their own poems of persuasion, but one of Zhu Xi's poems of persuasion was written in a specific environment.
Legend has it that when Zhu Xi was old, he walked to a school. It was autumn, when he saw the yellow leaves of the sycamore falling with the wind, he couldn't help but feel a lot of emotion, thinking that his hair had turned white, and said to himself: "Time is like an arrow, and the years are like a stream!" At this time, he suddenly saw a group of teenagers leaving the room to play outside, he deeply felt that young people do not know how to cherish time, only those who come over know that time is precious, especially the gray-haired people have a sense of cherishing time like gold, so Shixing spontaneously appeared, bowed his head and thought for a moment and said:
Young people are easy to learn and difficult to learn, and every inch of time is indispensable.
I didn't feel that the pond was green in spring, and the sycamore leaves in front of the steps had autumn sounds.
After chanting the poem, I went to the school and wrote the poem on the desk, hoping that those teenagers who don't know how to cherish time can cherish the time after seeing the poem. It is rumored that after these young people saw the poem, they were indeed inspired, and saw that it was written by the celebrity Zhu Xi, so they rushed to copy it, and they studied more diligently. 3; The story of Mengzi's mother's persuasion to studyMencius (Meng Ke)'s mother moved three times to choose neighbors in order to make Meng Ke have a good learning environment. One day when Meng's mother was weaving, Meng Ke skipped school and went home. She angrily broke the 杼 (zhù) (i.e., shuttle (suō) on the loom. If the tree is broken, the weaving cannot continue. Meng's mother used this to educate her son to read and study, and it was the same and could not be interrupted.
Allusion: Meng Ke (Mencius) lost his father at an early age, and his mother moved her family to a place very close to her husband's cemetery, and educated Meng Ke with her extraordinary insight. Because the family is surrounded by a cemetery, there are often people blowing and beating, running and crying, the young Meng Ke is full of curiosity about all this, sometimes naughty and energetic, but also to learn to do it like an adult. Follow the crying team, caught in the middle, others walk and he goes, and others cry and he cries, all as if he is doing a game. Meng's mother thought that this was not the place where the child should live, so she moved her family to the market.
There are a lot of vendors in the bazaar who boast about their sales to solicit business. Meng Ke was very interested when he saw it, so he also shouted. He also often learned the various actions of the butcher next door to kill cattle and sheep, and enjoyed himself. Meng Mu saw it and thought, "This is not an ideal place to live. So I moved again. This time, she moved her family to a school. Every month, officials and literati come to this school to bow down and bow down, humble and law-abiding. When Meng Ke saw it, he remembered them one by one, imitated the etiquette of learning, and asked to go to school and study. When Meng's mother saw her son become so studious, she said with emotion: "This is the ideal place to live." ”
Meng Ke didn't work very hard in school when he was a child, and he was as playful as ordinary children, and occasionally skipped school. One day, he felt that studying was too boring and bored, so he slipped out of the school and returned home. Meng's mother was sitting at home weaving at the loom. As soon as she saw her son's expression, she knew that class had not yet ended, and he had run back by himself. So, she changed her kind expression from the past, her face was like frost, and asked him sternly: "Why did you come back by yourself before school was over?" Meng Ke panicked in his heart, hesitated, and didn't dare to make a sound. Meng Mu turned around and returned to the loom, and at once broke the shuttle on the loom. The shuttle broke, and the cloth could no longer be woven. When Meng Ke saw this, he was even more panicked, hurriedly knelt on the ground, and asked, "Mom, don't be angry, did I do something wrong?" The mother's face was gloomy, and she said slowly: "You learn knowledge, just like I weave cloth, and only when you accumulate silk threads can you weave a piece of cloth, so that you can be used by others and become useful materials." When you learn knowledge, the same is true, you must learn every day, every month, every year, day and night, in order to grow. And now you're tired and lazy, which is actually giving up on yourself, and slowly giving up on all your efforts. It's a pity that I broke the shuttle I used to weave the cloth, just as you would if you gave up your studies. ”
When Meng Ke heard this, he suddenly realized, and said with a face full of shame: "Mom, I remember your words, and in the future, I must study angrily, live up to your earnest teachings, and bring glory to everyone." From then on, Mencius refused to slack off in his studies, became very diligent and hardworking, and finally became a university scholar. (To be continued......)
