Volume 2 The Beginning of the Legend Chapter 3 The Peaceful Village
Betty's mountain of mushrooms and wild herbs is right next door to the village, but there are still miles between the mountain and the village.
Betty strode in the direction of the village on the familiar wet and muddy country road, followed by a large group of animals.
Thankfully, with the help of this giant elk, Betty wouldn't have known how to transport the mysterious man back to the village.
But now that there is a big elk to carry the man for her, she just needs to carry a basket full of mushrooms and wild vegetables back to the village as she does on weekdays!
As the sun shone down from the sky and through the lush branches of the trees, Betty suddenly noticed that the dense dark clouds hanging overhead were slowly dissipating.
Betty blocked the sunlight with her free hand and narrowed her eyes.
She didn't know how the weather changed, but she knew it was strange this morning.
It was clear that it was about to rain before, but now it is cloudless, what a strange day!
A few miles away is not worth mentioning for a little girl who has been collecting her family's food in the mountains all year round, and she has even returned early because she has picked enough mushrooms.
Thus, when the sun had just risen to the center of the sky, Betty had already returned to the front of the village entrance with the group of critters.
At this time, the only adults at the entrance of the village were Buddy, a lonely widower who had been so sad that he had often forgotten to bring something since his wife died.
For example, today Buddy forgot to bring a shovel, he can't do without a shovel, there has been too much rain recently, and there are a lot of weeds growing in the field, and if you don't get rid of the weeds, the crops in the field can't thrive!
Buddy shook his head and walked slowly down the path at the entrance of the village, his eyes seeming to see a group of glowing animals waiting next to him.
Buddy smiled helplessly, he was really old, he had been reading the wrong things all the time these days, and he was thinking crankily in his head, how could there be glowing animals here.
Buddy sighed deeply and swayed towards the outside of the village with a shovel, only to hear Betty's shouts in a trance.
Oh, my body is really too old to be good.
No, my eyes can't see clearly, and my ears are not working.
Little Betty was sent to the mountains to pick mushrooms by her father and daughter every morning, so how could she go back to the village at noon?
Thinking of this, Buddy ignored the inexplicable shouts even more and hurried out of the village.
"Uncle Buddy, can't you hear me?"
This shout made Buddy, who was defenseless at all, almost fall to the ground, and then he realized that Betty was really talking to him before.
"Betty, why are you back so early?
Buddy turned around to ask about Betty's return.
Just as soon as he turned around, his eyes widened as if he had seen a ghost.
At first, Buddy thought he was mistaken, so he hurriedly rubbed his eyes, but when he reconfirmed that what he was seeing was indeed the case, he couldn't help but start yelling.
"Help, help, there's a glowing monster at the entrance of the village, come and save Betty!"
In Betty's astonished gaze, Buddy dropped the shovel on his shoulder and ran faster than Betty knew of him, and ran towards the interior of the village.
Betty opened her mouth wide and looked at Uncle Buddy, who had escaped, she wanted to explain to him, but Buddy's escape was too fast to give Betty a chance to explain.
Betty pondered the pros and cons for a moment, then turned around and hurriedly placed the unconscious man on the back of the huge elk on the ground, and at the same time instructed the animals who knew human nature.
"Little deer, rabbits, get out of here quickly, the people from my village will come soon, it may be dangerous for you to stay here, go quickly, don't stay here!"
Betty pushed the massive elk's body hard, trying to force them to hurry away from the village.
Perhaps it was Betty's heartfelt words that struck these strange glowing animals.
The huge elk glanced at Betty, raised its head and let out a high-pitched chirp, then immediately turned away, and walked in the direction of the woods with the glowing docile creatures.
Soon after, the men and women who had stayed behind in the village, led by Uncle Buddy, rushed in with a hoe, sickle, and rolling pin, much to the surprise of Betty, who was not in the slightest.
Only Buddy, who arrived first, could see the glowing animals that were about to disappear into the woods, but his attention was all on Betty, so he didn't see where they had gone.
Uncle Buddy was the first to get to Betty, and as if he had been a different person, he ran to Betty's side, looked at Betty expectantly, and asked how she was doing.
"Little Betty, are you alright?
Immediately, many women and old people from the village also hurried to the city, and brought Betty over for a good examination, and then she was relieved.
However, they soon found the man lying on the ground, whom they had never seen before, and out of curiosity they gathered around Betty to ask questions.
It's just that the entrance of the village is full of people's shouting and noisy voices, and Betty has no way to explain, no matter how loudly she speaks, but her shouts are overshadowed by the noise of people.
"Don't make any noise, what are you all anxious about? Let little Betty explain what happened!"
An old hoarse and majestic voice came, and suddenly the crowd was silent.
The crowd couldn't help but get out of the way, and Betty stood on tiptoe to look and discover the source of the old voice.
It's really the village chief's grandfather!
