Chapter 45: Reflections
March 23, 1328
Agnes wrote the date on a piece of paper in Fenerport language. The pen clicked a little at the end, pausing there to create a noticeable ink dot.
Agnes moved her pen to the next line and began to write, except for a moment the only sound in the room was the rustle of the tip of the pen across the paper.
Her Excellency Rossi had already left, and Agnes didn't know what to do in this unfamiliar environment for a while, so she subconsciously wrote a diary.
Agnes first recorded what happened on the 20th in her memory, then stopped her pen and began to think.
The room was so quiet that only the occasional sparks could be heard from the oil lamp. I don't know what kind of animal oil is burning in the oil lamp, it is brighter than most candles, and there is not even any smell of grease. Even though this room has no windows, it's still not dim.
But Agnes wasn't quite used to it. She didn't like a room without windows, and even though it wasn't cramped, she still had a sense of depression that always hovered in her heart, making her a little out of breath.
Agnes controlled her thoughts and refocused on her journal.
"Your Excellency Rossi asked me about what I went through today, is this an inquiry from me or an interrogation?" Agnes wrote a sentence on the paper, and then, feeling that she had written inappropriately, she stroked the second half of the sentence several times with a pen. Still not satisfied, she simply said this sentence with a pen and painted it into a color block, and then dropped the pen.
"Your Excellency Rossi's attitude is mild, but what is the church's attitude towards me now?"
"This time it was clear that Alyssa's affair was not driven by my own will, which was fundamentally different from what happened to my previous illness and what happened in Mera's case. This revealed that the secrets of my body were not in a state of complete dormancy, and even had a qualitative change in the presence of extraordinary powers. ”
"As much as I would love to tell them directly what happened, I can't hide the lack of my own memory." Agnes sighed, feeling a little tired.
She didn't tell Lord Rossi and the church that her previous dream was actually her past life, after all, there were no countries with a similar background to her previous life in the mysterious world, and it was difficult for them to understand many of the things. And the experience of Russell the Great made her feel a little jealous, although Agnes had forgotten the reasons behind his outcome, she always felt that once she revealed her resemblance to Russell the Great, it would lead to something not very good.
Every time someone in the church asked her what she had dreamed about, Agnes basically just recounted her version of the world. After all, her dreams are generally just a scene and are easy to adapt.
"Why did my memory of this time become the same as my previous life in my dreams? I always feel that there is something hidden in it, but when I have the idea of inquiry, there is always a sense of fear in my heart, as if once I know, everything will become irreversible. ”
Agnes stopped her messy thoughts and wrote a sentence on the paper: "A guess: the point of the 'prisoner' sequence is that the focus of the 'prisoner' sequence is the feeling of being bound by one's own desires that cannot be fulfilled by various factors. Then the pen was put back on.
Agnes didn't know where the guess of the role came from, and it popped into her mind when she woke up. This sentence is very similar to the "mind is a prisoner of the body, and the body is a prisoner of the world" coping code, and she doesn't even know if it is her own translation of the coping code or if it comes from other knowledge.
When she woke up, she found that some of the potion in her body had been inexplicably digested, plus some of her previous intermittent digestion, if she only had one "prisoner" potion in her body now, she should have digested two-thirds of it by now. But now there are two "prisoners" in his body, one "madman" and one "werewolf" to digest.
Agnes could feel that the "prisoner" in her body had been digesting at a small but constant rate since Lord Rossi admitted that it was the underground of the church, but this was clearly different from this suspicion.
"Maybe it's the difference between the superficial play and the real integration?" Agnes unconsciously tapped her finger on the table.
Agnes had always wondered if it was the custom of most churches to keep seals and the prison of the Extraordinary in the basement of the church. At least as far as she knew, the Church of the Night Goddess and the Church of Mother Earth God were like that. Maybe it's because it's convenient to arrange some special means underground, and it's easy to detect anomalies on the ground?
She had just woken up and guessed that she was now under the Church of Santa Diana based on her circumstances, but at the time she didn't feel the obvious sensation of potion digestion, at least much slower than it was now. But after he confirmed his idea from Lord Rossi, the speed of the potion digestion suddenly became much faster.
"Maybe it's because I've finally determined my current captivity?" Agnes rubbed her temples a little confused.
"An important question is, how did my inexplicable digestion progress come about during my coma?"
Agnes picked up the pen again and wrote on the paper again: "Lord Rossi said that an expert in dreams and memories will come to investigate me, and it seems that the church is taking this matter very seriously. But wouldn't it really be dangerous to probe my memories? ”
Agnes smiled self-deprecatingly. After Agnes's illness became apparent, the church arranged for a "psychic" to try to understand what was behind it. Naturally, this "psychic" did not get any information from her, and I heard that his personality had changed greatly after he returned, and he seemed to have become much more sensitive and melancholy, and he was always in a state of sadness and could not extricate himself, until he was able to recover after many purifications.
From then on, the church no longer tried to learn things from Agnes through dreams or memories, but always let Agnes tell them herself.
And this time, the church is trying to understand it again through this means, and it seems that it really takes this matter very seriously.
"Good luck to this expert." Agnes blessed.
"Last question, can I ever return to the Heart of Nature?" The pen cut through the paper, leaving a knife-like mark.
"Will my anomaly be deemed harmful to others by the Church this time?"
