Chapter 3: Anwa Castle
Agnes carried her suitcase out of the gate between the high fences of the abbey, and she walked to the carriage parked on the side of the road.
"Good morning, Mr. Ellison, may the Mother God bless you." Agnes said as she looked at the coachman with a calm smile.
"Good morning, Sister Pagani, I think that this mission to send you to me is already blessed by the Mother Goddess." The coachman said with a smile.
"After all, Priest Spencer paid me a lot for this trip." The coachman reached out and took the suitcase from Agnes' hand and placed it on the carriage.
"Thank you." Agnes smiled and nodded in thanks as the coachman took the suitcase.
"You're short of money?" Agnes raised her feet and boarded the carriage, but instead of stepping into the carriage, she sat down outside and asked.
"Well, not really, but I have to think of a way to save a little money and let my youngest son, who has just graduated from the church's Sunday school, learn some skills."
"In the past, it would have been nice to pay some dues and throw them directly to the craftsmen of the guild to be apprentices, but now ......," the coachman sighed.
"Now...... The guild system has been abolished......," Angnes muttered.
"Yes, the guild system has been abolished," the coachman sighed, and said, "It's troublesome now, it's very messy, and you have to inquire one by one." ”
"After the craftsmen left the guild, some of them were not ready to accept apprentices for a short time, and some were still accepting them; Some depend on how the child is, and some just need to pay some money; Some have more money to pay, some have less money to pay, and they are all different. Before, these were all guild charges. ”
Agnes listened quietly and did not speak.
"Forget it, these things shouldn't be told to the nun." The coachman smiled and said to Agnes.
"No, it is also the task of the nuns of Mother Goddess to comfort the hearts of the faithful." Agnes smiled and said, "It's just a pity that I can't help much. ”
"It's true that sometimes it's easier to complain to someone." The coachman nodded.
"I was sometimes so aggrieved by the family that I couldn't talk to the fellows in the tavern – the fellows would laugh at me and run to pour bitter water on the Priest Spencer." The coachman said with a smile.
Agnes couldn't help but curl the corners of her mouth and nodded.
"But to be honest, I sometimes think I'm pretty happy." The coachman said with a smile.
"Nun, we're leaving, won't you get into the carriage?" The coachman pulled the reins and asked Agnes.
"Before I go out of town, I'm going to sit outside and take a look." Agnes nodded and said.
The coachman couldn't help but laugh and said, "Seville is a wonderful city, doesn't Sister Pagani think so?" ”
Agnes smiled and nodded.
"I heard one of my travelers say before that life in Seville heals every tired soul."
"At the beginning of the year, a young couple moved in from Len Aner Boulevard. It seems that because their original child was killed, his wife was in a bad state of mind when she first arrived. After having been in Seville for such a long time, his wife has now recovered, they are pregnant with a new child, and they have now decided to settle in Seville. The coachman said casually.
"It's a good thing to be happy about." Agnes said with a smile.
"Well, speaking of which, Sister Pagani, are you coming back after you go to Bodivia?" The coachman asked, as if suddenly remembering something.
Agnes shook her head slowly and said, "I shouldn't come back, I shouldn't come back." ”
"Why?" The coachman asked, looking up at Agnes.
"Everybody's really fond of you."
Agnes shook her head with a slight smile before she said, "I think my destiny is in the Southern Continent. ”
"Is this guidance from the Mother Goddess?" The coachman asked.
Agnes smiled and didn't speak.
"Okay." The coachman said with a sigh.
The carriage was clattering out of the city, and it was still too early, and there was no one on the road. Agnes looked casually at the grass on both sides of the road, with a few withered leaves, and the Sevia chrysanthemums that were still in full bloom.
"The church bells are ringing." Agnes spoke, turning her head to look at the church tower, which was jutting out of the shadows of the maple trees.
"Dang!"
The ethereal and melodious bell rang and echoed in Angnes's ears.
......
The city of Bodivia is not far from Seville, leaving in the morning and arriving in the evening in the small town on the edge of the city.
Bodivia is a little bit further east than Seville, well, or closer to Rune. There is not much difference between getting to the Gulf of Diesi from here and from Seville, the only difference being that the port is much smaller.
Agnes walked along the road that was almost covered with grass with her suitcase, and the road to Anwa Castle was clearly in disrepair, but not to the point of being completely unattended.
She had already inquired about the location of the castle of Anwa in Bodivia during her two weeks in Seville, and when she arrived, she told the coachman to find the inn and stay in it herself, and then return by herself after dawn the morrow. Agnes, on the other hand, reported her whereabouts to the town's church and went straight to Anwa Castle.
Agnes rubbed the crown in her hand and looked at the shadow of the castle that was faintly visible in front of her on the cliff.
She asked the priest about the castle in the town, and received news that was quite as she expected.
The priest told her that there was no one left in Anwa Castle, and that the members of the Pagani family on Bodivia's side had been leaving, and they didn't know where they had gone.
As far as the priest knows, there seems to be only one "Pagni" left in the castle of Anwa, who was already there when he came, and this priest came to Bodivia six years ago, when the castle of Anva was in decline, but it was not as depressed as it is now.
Agnes pulled the corners of her coat off the thorns, glanced at the strips of cloth that had been left on the thorns, and continued walking.
She went up the mountain directly in a nun's dress. She wasn't prepared to hide her identity, and even told a lot of people about her coming here to see.
Anwa Castle is the former residence of the Pagani family. Dad said that many of the things she wanted to know could be answered here.
She did have a lot to know, and the secrets of the Pagani family seemed to have something to do with her past life. For example, the "Thorn Beacon" that would have been difficult to identify if it weren't for Agnes' mother's use, and a new question that Agnes had only arisen after her mother's death - why she was born in the Pagani family.
Some questions are not answered, and those unknown answers will always torment a person's heart, making her doubt her own existence.
So Agnes decided to confront the answers to her questions, whatever they might be.
She lifted her hand, which was not carrying the suitcase, and rang the bell in front of the castle gates.
